Flipfont in Epic 4G froyo builds? - Epic 4G General

Can anybody running DK28 check to see if it contains FlipFont support like Galaxy S phones on other carriers? I think it's located under settings->sound & display.

Maybe he's not running DK28? No need to be a ****.
OP, I do not see this on my Epic running the Quantum DK28 rom.

Hey OP, I was also expecting that the Epic's Froyo upgrade will allow us to use flipfont capabilities but as mentioned above, it's a no go.
Not sure why Epic, of all the Galaxy S variants, is left out on this.
For now, I just rename whatever fonts I'd like to use to "DroidSans.ttf" and copy them over to /system/fonts using RootExplorer app.
If you're interested in this method, you can find many nice fonts in the following thread:

I believe it uses android vanilla. I've never used it myself, but i think cyanogen takes his favorite parts about each android rom that comes out and puts it in cyanogenmod, so its supposed to make the whole android experience better. I could be entirely wrong though, so don't quote me on it.
This is like waiting for gingerbread 3.0

ROM Request - SGSII

Any word on anyone kanging parts of the SGSII stock rom (obviously not the kernel or radio) for our phones?
I've been using the tw4 from sbrissen, and love it. Would love to see what else could be pulled...

having dug through the system dump...theres a lot of similarities to the 2.3 leaked roms for the i9000...and really besides a hybrid gb/tw theme and merging dialer and contacts back into 1 apk...theres a not a lot of changes really (on the surface at least)
the livewallpapers are kinda cool and available in android apps/themes i think here on xda
I was thinking about ripping apart a rom to take what looked good.

its not that simple...its a gingerbread based gsm rom...you cant just add apks without heavily modifiying them or backporting them....will some just work right away? sure...like livewallpapers maybe the file manager
but its not as simple as just unzipping the system dump, taking what you want, and putting them on a fascinate rom

Anyone with half a brain could do what I just said. But it doesn't matter. Its a GB rom and requires GB dependencies. So what I said before is null and void.

[Q] [POLL] [ACTUAL POLL] Which ROM are you using?

Due to a certain other "poll" containing, let's say, less than scientific data, I decided to open an actual poll to try to gauge the interest in various TouchWiz/AOSP/MTD ROMs. There are, of course, several caveats which are listed as follows:
All Fascinate AOSP ROMs owe their existence to jt1134, so his work will be in all of these
Some ROMs have only recently appeared in this forum (such as Pool Party), thus older ROMs will naturally have a higher number of users
This poll does not include ROMs that are not posted here in XDA, so users of ROMs that are posted in Rootzwiki are not counted
Numbers may reflect preferences for TouchWiz or AOSP/MTD more than they reflect preference for a specific developer's work
Ugh - forgot to include Pool Party - please click "other" if you are using this one

if I still had a fascinate I would be running Zinc. That rom was 1337
I voted for MIUI (andmer) even though I'm running dfgas' mesmerize one, since we wouldn't have anything over there if it weren't for andmer.

To keep things closer to your dad's experience there's FishmanMod which is an update to a very popular Bionix -v 1.3.1 Rom. It will fly compared to stock but everything works and it won't be totally unfamiliar to the dad.

be careful, the GS4g and Vibrant may look the same, but their flashing procedures are a bit different. read up and then do it.
Adding on to xriderx66, use this guide if you need a reference when backing up & flashing a custom rom to your dads phone... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
Since he's already rooted start from: "OKAY, I HAVE ROOT - NOW WHAT? BACKUP!!!"
If your dad is happy with the stock ROM (with the exception of the speed) then I would definitely suggest going with something like the fishman mod that is based on the stock 2.2 ROM. That'll make sure he still has all the stock apps and such. I used Bionix for a LONG time and was always really happy with it.
I'm gonna show him bionix and see what he says
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
I suggest showing him Fish's version of Bionix for the mere reason that Fishman is supporting it daily, while Team Whiskey is no longer.
Fish is good at what he does. My name is Woodrube and I endorse this message.

Metamorph works with most devices, but the mod has to be compatible. You'd be better off looking for a system theme applied through theme chooser.
