dailymotion, skyfire might work on it.
youtube yes, with the built in software, excelente.
MSM messenger yes, very good on the HD, you can also try Skype
You can play any video with CorePlayer, the performance can vary.
thanks
thanks man really appreciate your prompt reply but i was wondering coz recently i tried same sort of things in sony erricsion x1 which was really annoying with smaller screen and skyfire wasnt working on that not even any coreplayer did.
anyway thanks for you reply.

Yep the xperia got high resolution but the screen is smaller, skyfire only works on xperia and HD if you change the resolution to VGA. The latest coreplayer can play youtube and all video formats, it only lacks performance (decent hardware aceleration not supported)
sorry to bump this up,
I get my touch hd tomorrow and was wondering what i need to do to get msn messenger onto it?
thanks

+1
Tried most of the custom roms for my HD, found Topix to be by far the most stable and fast (and complete). Looking very much forward to your HD2 roms, kwbr, very happy to see you here. I'll get a donation ready
Welcome here!
Hi kwbr, nice to see you here too!!!
great news. i just bought HD2 yesterday.
hope could use Topix rom asap.
---
btw: could kwbr try to create the rom base on Asia_WWE stock rom?
becasue it has the Chinese Touch input fucntion. So far no one rip and create the Touch input.CAB for it.

Havent personaly lookt in to this, but many says that it slows the device down etc. Another thing, if it didnt, HTC might just include it in the first place..
Agree that its better to not include it. If you want it, just install the cab.
why does this thread say [ONLINE] if it's not online yet?
Good news
I am using Topix3.2 in my touch HD, and I will flash your new topix to my HD2. BTW, does this rom support sence international language feature? The hd2 has Chinese font installed in the rom after I flash 1.48.707.2, and the Touch input support Chinese input.
Thank you very much.
glade to see you in HTC HD2 Leo

I had 2 HD2 with me and I did a test on both fresh set. the one with htc task manager is actually drawing at least 25% more juice than the one without.
Today i am really mad with HTC.
I am an owner of HTC HD2 (LEO)
I went to a store in greece to see the new HTC HD-mini (photon) to have a closer look.
I tapped the internet tab on htc sense and it opened Pocket Internet Explorer, and having the habbit of opera mobile of my hd2 and i started pinch 2 zoom and i couldn't believe on my own eyes..!!!
The HD mini had multitouch support on Internet Explorer.
The Rom version that i saw was 1.07.482.1 ELL.
Why HD2 doesn't have multitouch on pie and HD-mini has.??
Can somebody explain me pls.??
Any developer to bring the multitouch pie from HD-mini to LEO??
Thanks in advance.
i think HTC wants you to buy HTC HD Mini when you already have HTC HD2.

The HD2 originally had multitouch in PIE but it was removed for some reason or another.
It would be nice to have pinch to zoom in IE (I don't think full multitouch is possible), but I don't recall seeing a build anywhere.
A possible reason is that 6.5 didn't properly support capacitive screens while 6.5.3 (hence why the HD Mini with stock 6.5.3 has PtZ PIE while the HD2 doesn't. Only Opera).
Personally, I still prefer Opera, and with FixOperaFlash, PIE has been made redundant (to me) on my HD2.
I just switched from a HD2 to the Desire HD and have two questions that i hop you 'Android-PowerUsers' can help med with ;-)
1) Is there a Contact widget that don't just list the contacts alphabetically, but where you deside withc contacht i shown?
The HTC and Andorid widget don't.
2) I have configured my Microsoft Exchage connection so i recive mail from it on the phone, but i can only see what's in my 'INBox'. On my PC i have som ruels that move specific mail from the InBox to other folders, and i want to sync/see what's in these folders also. Is that possible?
Bump... please ;-)

1 The contact setup widget your looking for is the people widget, it can be set up a number of different ways to suit you and you can set up groups and have seperate widgets for each so you have say a work group, friends group and family for example. you just have to long press on ur home screen and select add widget then people you get a choice of three types of widget and when you choose your preffered style you are then confronted with a group to display in that widget
as for exchange server i just use gmail as it syncs everything up nicely with good ui and i can see all my folders simply laid out in labels, i have no experience with exchange sync etc.
hope that helps a bit though

Try touchdown for exchange mail. The built in activesync support is pretty poor.
You get a 30 day trial but its not too expensive to buy the full app if you decide you need it bad enough.
I bought it and its very good. I'm even using it with lotus notes

- Same

- Yes, with Rockplayer
- email - HD2 can record only on phones memory, so I use Profimail which is much better then original one.
- can't uderstand what you mean by recording the email
- any navigation? garmin and iGo 8 works perfect on HD2
- Comes with Route 66 preinstalled with free maps (not routing). You have to pay for the navigation part though.
- is Cookie working on Desire HD? Do I need it there?
- if you mean Cookie Home Tab, then you don't need it.
- Facebook? working properly?
- Yes
- Myspace? (not working on HD2)
- Don't know
- Word? (full version?)
- Word 2003 compatible app
- any English dictionares?
- There are dictionaries in the market
- Skype( working on HD2)
- Yes
Thank you!

- can't uderstand what you mean by recording the email
I meant, HD2 can store the emails only on phones memory. If u've got 5-6 accounts it will fill your memory quickly. To store the emails on the card I use Profimail, which is much better program for dealing with your emails.

Well you can select the storage for the attachments (internal or external), but if I remember correctly you could do that in WM too. For storing the actual e-mail (the text itself) on the SD card... I don't think the default mail client does that, but maybe someone who is more familiar with Android phones knows better.

Attempting to answer these from experience with my DHD.
-call recording: Not attempted. I will try this later
-Battery Life: Can't put my DHD down long enough to honestly tell you about battery life but after 3 hours of browsing on the xda app I've only lost 10%. Using a custom ROM (Leedroid 2.2.2)
-video playback: I've had no problem playing videos of different formats
-email storage: stores downloaded attachments onto sd unknown if there is a storage limit on the phone itself.
-navigation: comes with google navigation. Navigon is also an option.
-cookie: unknown as to what it is or does
-Facebook: works great, not receiving notifications (could be my custom ROM)
-Myspace: working, dont really use it to know if notifications work or not.
-Word: Not attempted at using it however the rom I'm using has quickoffice that does .txt .doc items.
-english dictionary: yes many of then on the market.
-Skype: works great, no front camera so I've not attempted video calling.
Any other questions just ask.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Thanks Casper.

Yes it does support flash. From what I can tell most of the HTC Call recorders use the speakerphone output to record the conversation. Haven't tested any yet
I have just loaded an Android ROM onto my HTC HD2 and its working really well. Thanks for all the info on this site. Now my friend who has a HTC HD Mini has asked me to android it aswell. Can i follow the same procedure i used for my HD2 or do i have to use the alternative method. Many thanks
Why do you post your question 2 times?
Btw: There is no "HTC HD2 Mini"
Sorry my PC was playing up and it ended up doing it twice
Thats curious, a 5 minute lag between both posts... maybe we should call an admin for that
the title made me 鸡冻(means excited)
