Hi,
I've got LauncherPro Plus and Extended Controls installed. My extended Controls Widget has got a sleep option...
Is it possible to create a shortcut to either Ext Control's sleep action or CMmod's one?
I want to put my phone to sleep with a either a dock icon or gesture on the dock/home screen

Hi,
I am currently looking at using either LauncherPro or ADW Launcher, but I have become accustomed to using the Samsung Feeds and Updates Widget and the Samsung Buddies Now widget. Is there any way I can place these widgets onto a screen in the alternate launchers? I saw in the apps section that someone has posted all the apk files for the different apps, but it seems they're system apps and I couldn't work out if there's a way to use them.
I hope someone can help!
I just asked the same thing in the Vibrant forum -- anyone?
I am using a Samsung Epic 4G. This phone is awsome and launcher pro makes it even more awsome. You can use tw launcher and some samsung widgets with launcher pro, in a round-about kinda way, because launcher pro gives you the ability to customize dock tray icons. This method will allow you to have upto 19 home screens or just the widget you want.
Make launcher pro you default launcher. This is important since you can not change the dock tray icons in the 2 stock launchers of the phone. Tap the 'home' button
On the dock tray bar choose an icon to change. ( I chose an icon on my main dock bar. you can have upto 15 dock tray buttons in launcher pro from what I can tell)
Long press that dock button til the option appears, "Edit dock shortcut".
Choose, "Change shortcut".
Now tap the launcher pro icon that says, "Activities".
Wait, it sometimes takes awhile for the activities menu to pop up.
After it opens you can scroll down and you see Buddies Now. Expand it and tap the buddies now widget control.
You now have a dock menu button that is probably easier to access than scrolling thru screens for Buddies Now.
After I did that, I thought, maybe I could change the dock button to launch TW launcher. So, I changed the buddies now icon to the TW launcher and changed another icon to the stock launcher. Now all I do is tap the TW launcher icon and my home screen there has the buddies now widget. I only need to tap the phone's home button to take me back to launcher pro and my default home screen.
Pretty cool. Thanks Launcher Pro. Launcher Pro Plus is well worth the $2 since it allows you to size widgets.

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
interesting way of doing it +1 !
Is there an app/widget that will auto-hide the dock like the Windows taksbar that will either work in conjunction with LauncherPro or have its own dock?
Im not looking to use that empty space or put more icons there.
I just want the dock to be hidden until I make a gesture or "mouse" over it. Then it will pop up and return to its normal location. Much like how you can have it in windows (taskbar).
Im not looking for extra functionality. Just something to display more of the background.
Thanks in advance.
If it's like ADW it will have the feature already built in.
Thanks!
ADW was exactly what i was looking for.
allows you to hide/show the dock with a up/down gesture. same with the taskbar.
sweet!
Hey,
I am running stock 4.2.2 with nova prime launcher.
I use the DashClock on my home screen and gestures for my three main uses
( Swipe down to expand notifications, Swipe up for GoogleNow and Double Tap for App Drawer.)
As my DashClock takes up the full screen the Widget blocks gestures from working. Is it possible to have gestures still work 100% Over this widget?
Second question is with LightFlow (Purchased) quite often the light is flashing with no notifactions present. So i normally do a search through the common apps i use to check for notifications to dismiss lightflow. But now and then i can't locate what the notification is.
What is the best way around this? Or is this just lightflow?
Thanks
What would I be losing if I changed my default launcher to Nova? One thing I noticed immediately is the double tap to sleep function (anyone know how I enable it as a Nova gesture?). Am I losing any if the other Lg functionality like quick window or slideaside?
Also which launcher is more battery and ram friendly.

There is a wonderful app called "Screen Off and Lock" by Katecca that will let you use your double tap to turn the screen off anywhere like before.
Been using it with Nova Launcher on my G2 for a long time, works flawlessly.
Play link: Screen Off and Lock
1) Is there a way on the stock launcher to completely remove the google feed? I tried turning off the feed in the google settings but it just removed the cards, the google app is still there.
2) Is there a launcher aside from Nova, that is close to stock and supports double tap to sleep? Rootless pixel launcher is ideal since it also adds support for custom icons, but there is no support for double tap to sleep.
2. Lawnchair launcher and lean launcher are customizable launcher I prefer. But both launcher I mention are not support double tap to sleep gestures without giving pin unlock when you wake device.
Try using Lawnchair v2 , it has DT2S without root. You can use screen timeout instead of Root
Use ruthless launcher by shubby. Supports double tap to sleep and to wake.
