I'm not sure if you can change your settings, but when you use the app and select the option to upload a photo, you get two options "Choose from Gallery" and "Capture Photo". The phone can be set to take 8mp pics, but the app itself shrinks it down so it transfers better over the mobile network. If you want to upload bigger pictures, take one with the stock camera app first, and then select "Choose from Gallery" when uploading the picture. You'll get a pic that's about 4 times the size of what it is when taken with the facebook app.

Hey folks, is there a way to get the gallery app to actually download the pics to the phone so they can be viewed offline.

Yep, that's what makes them show in the gallery but they aren't really downloaded to the phone. Some stay in the cache but when you cycle through a album with more than say 5 pics they want to download to view.
While you're seeing the pictures, the phone cache the pic and you can view it offline, but you need to do this manual (looking at all the pictures while online).
I would also like to know if this is possible.
Is there a way to download pictures from picasa? Even if it is through the PC?

That does not work for very long. I have looked at all my pics many times over and they still need to download.
I've noticed that wallpapers applied via the Gallery app come out blurry and poorly scaled but the same image, applied by other means, work fine. For example, I can apply an image by opening the gallery (either by hand or by long press on the desktop) and the result will be blurry and scaled poorly. If I open the same file in another image viewer or a browser and apply it from there it works fine. Is this a bug in the gallery app on the Galaxy Tab? Has any one else noticed? How are others applying wallpapers?
Example:
Applied via Dolphin HD (clear)

Applied via Gallery (blurry):

The Gallery app doesn't appear to use the full res versions of the photos, and the updated one that uses better photos has some FC errors. I use an app called Crop Wallpaper, which sets itself up so you can use the sharing from your gallery or any other photo app to send it over, crop the area you want, apply it, and you're all set.
Free on the market and is the best solution I've found so far.
Yes, that's also what I found out. I'm using Multi Picture Live Wallpaper now, you can define different picture for each page in the homepage. It's free from the market.

Thanks for Crop wallpaper, the UI needs some work but gets the job done perfectly

Just downloaded Crop Wallpaper and it works amazingly well. Thanks for the recommendation.
Is there a app I overlooked that enables zoom or will the nexus s never have it?

before I installed cm7 rc2 I could have swore that my camera would zoom???...I actually figured it was a bug with rc2 that was causing this on my phone
The only zoom you could possibly have is a digital zoom, which is not really a zoom at all. It just blows up and distorts the picture. There is no optical zoom built in to the Nexus S.
right, maybe im wrong, but i thought i was able to digital zoom before rc2... Although I have read other posts about no camera on this phone. so maybe im just wishfully thinking...
Just take the picture without zoom and crop it after... why would you want to take a picture that has less information? I never understood why anyone would want to use digital zoom.
+1, the stock doesn't have digital zoom. Funny that they removed this feature just to make space for the button that enables switching of front/back camera.
So is there any image editing app that enables cropping?
I use digital zoom when I need to capture a picture of a monkey that's far away with my 5MP camera and send it via MMS in 1MP picture.
Have you looked at the stock gallery app? When viewing a picture just press menu and there's a crop button... it's really pretty easy. It makes a new picture for you with the cropped one, then you just tap it and click "share" and choose the method you want... email, MMS, picasa, etc.

would be nice to have a digital zoom on camera.
Under the advanced settings in the stock cm7 camera app, there's an option to use the volume keys for the zoom controls. Unfortunately enabling that also does nothing.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to upload multiple photos to Facebook from the SGS2, directly from the gallery if possible? I have downloaded an app called Speedy Uploader, but was wondering if there is any way t o do it straight from the gallery.
I use a cool app called 'Speedy Uploader'.
Hope that helps.

Did you even read the post?
OP, there isn't a native way but something like the Speedy Uploader app you're using should allow you to select all the images you like and then use the 'Share' button. That'll stop you having to open a second app.
Can we save photos on facebook by using fb app like FBapp for ios?
And there are any solutions to set wallpaper without cropping?
There are numerous apps in market which allow you to do almost whatever, eg-friendcaster
By default the system gives you option to crop the image before setting add wallpaper to for it according to our screen, if you want to use the whole of the picture as wallpaper just expand the size of the cropping edge of rectangle to the full of the image as it allows you to.

As I said, try "friendcaster pro" it gives you almost all functionality from uploading photos, to saving them, when you view them just hit the option button and choose the save option. You can Getty it from the Android market, else just google it.
