Sorry, I guess that wasn't the right link. I dont think you can flash the stock kernel via clockwork. What issues are you having with odin?
None I cant use it because my comeputer wont recognize my phone through usb.
I just want to use stock kernel before updated to 2.2

So i wanted to go back to 2.1 and root it and flash bionix which to my knowledge is running a more customized stable 2.2. Can someone please tell me how to get back to 2.1 so i can do this over again the RIGHT WAY lol. thanks
You can root with SuperOneClick
Check out the Thread by Nothingness00 or you can flash the KA6 + Voodoo kernel on Supercurios post and have root & CWM in one shot.. Dev section

yes...from what i've read you can root 2.2 from kies via SuperOncClick...
but if you just want to go back to 2.1 just for kicks and giggles then flash Bionix-V...
then use Odin to go back to stock...
root..
flash CWM recovery...
then flash Bionix-V

If he isnt rooted then he can't flash Bionix . His only option would be to use odin to revert back to any 2.1 stock rom, but like you said he should be able to root it just fine with SOC.
To the OP: Search, and answers you will find.

if you updated to 2.2 via kies then you have stock 2.2 Froyo
Bionix-V is a heavily modified Froyo ROM by Team Whiskey...it has lots of performance tweaks and VooDoo lagfix enabled by default...trust me...TW ROMs are gold.
so can i root my 2.2 with SOC then flash bionix on it or do i have to go back to 2.1 first?
You can root with SOC
SOC is not working for me. it keeps giving me an error message after i click root i have frame work 4.0 installed and the drivers for the phone installed as well

ok so i have 2.1 on my phone now, im rooted but i think there were 2 programs i needed to download rom manager and something else? clockwork? i cant find it in the market. there used to be a link here with the barcode scanner
clock work = rom manager ! download ,open, make sure u put the rom u want on internal sd , in clockwork locate flash rom or something like that it will ask if u want clear cache click yes and phone will rebot , flash will begin once phone boot up
ill be here so if u get a problem post it
ok so it says, download rom to root of interal sd, i have my internal sd mounted, just download it into there? i dont see any folder that says root?
After installing one of the Gingerbread roms (Default [ROM] [CM7] [7/14/11] Trigger Redux ยป Build 13 ) I had to go back to Froyo for Wifi Calling.
But when I flash any Froyo rom using the clockworkmod v4.0.1.0 I get this error:
Amend scripting is no longer supported... Installation aborted.
Do I need a previous version of CWM? Which one? And how to install it?
Any other solution?
Thank you in advance.

^^^this.
You *MUST* Odin back to jfd before flashing *ANYTHING* Samsung based if coming from anything CM7 based.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Thanks. It worked.
I just Odin'ed back to JFD. When I flash any kb5 froyo rom do I need to flash new radio? or anything else besides the rom itself?
Thank you.

no it should have that modem already in it unless it doesnt say and unless u want a custom kernel then no, there are some GB roms with wifi calling, the JVP GB roms are the ones that have it
ok first i installed the SACS CUSTOM ROM then ChronicKernel AOSP-JB4.2 and now my phone starts up slow and it has a hard time loading TWRP some one please help my phone is acting up.
First off this Sac's is a TouchWiz and NOT AOSP ROM.
If you flashed the wrong kernel it won't boot right/well if at all.
I haven't tried Cronic's kernel on TW, and I do know he said it 'should' work on TW but I don't know.
You can try loading ktoonz TW one.
Also.
Were you on MF9 firmware(s) before you flashed?

You can't flash 4.3 because MF9 is 4.2
As for firmware what where you on before you flashed this?
You can always flash the firmware, flash, flash the ROM then flash the kernel and see if it gets going.
Kernel issue

Hello, you have to update your touchwiz rom to MF9 before you root it then you can install Sacs23 custom rom. His rom already comes with a Kernel I think its Agats so you dont ahve to flash any Kernels....so what i would suggest go to settings on your phone and about and check to see if you see MF9 firmware. if it does just go ahead and do a clean install, and you should be good to go.

Hello there fellow XDA members, I have a problem with my S4. I installed the German version of 4.3, but I'm from Serbia which means different build numbers, and I haven't got any updates since(In updates i mean those small updates the size of 20mb like and so). So now I found my firmware for my country, but I also found a kernel for it, as a .tar file. My question now is, I know how to flash a rom via ODIN, but how do I flash a stock kernel, and should I do it before flashing the rom or after?

If u want all STOCK is better u use KIES for it. If ya wanna try ODIN, u dont need flash any STOCK kernel... only flash the STOCK ROM and is all :highfive:

EXACLY
but if you want to flash a separate kernel you need a recovery (CWM or TWRP) and an custom rom !

Thank you for the advice, I was just confused why would the rom and kernel be separated
Stock kernel is included in stock rom Odin flashable, so you shouldn't need to flash a kernel separately. If you want to though, PDA section of Odin same as a rom package.

Sure you can, but it will leave modem and bootloader newer versions intact, which is probably good.
And you can always use Odin to flash your Stock Rom back if you find some incompatibility.

Once you have a custom recovery, you can flash anything you want except 4.3 custom ROMs due to incompatible bootloader's boot structure.

There is no common answer for this question, coz
It depends on what custom rom.

When you flash via recovery on the Note 3 it usually will not touch bootloader and modem.
If you flash a Stock Rom using Odin and your phone is also on a stock rom it will update bootloader and modem.
And yes, if you move from 4.3 to 4.4 there is no way back to 4.3. It should not be a concern since all good and actively kept roms are on 4.4.
