I did it twice. The first time it said error the step after removing unneeded files or whatever. Then I battery pulled and had to odin to di18, after which I tried a manual update and the 3g AND 4g symbols went off with just 2 bars showing and it constantly said "searching blah blah blah" until about 10 minutes later (played a whole match of CTF while I waited) and it said "unkown error" and stopped searching, so I figured it was the modem and reflashed di18, did the update.zip the second time and then tried searching for an update again and I sttill got an unknown error with all the symbols going away...
Anyone got any idea what th problem is?

I wanted to install the 2.3 that came out for the d2. I did not have enough room on my sd card to drop it so I started deleting photos, downloads, and music using Astro. After this Android media serivce (I believe) started appearing on my watch dog and lagging the hell out of my phone. I though "hmm I have boot strap why not just restore to a few days ago. I restored my phone and hit reboot. It did not reboot it has not moved past the Motorola symbol once. If I plug it in it does the same thing. What can I do? is there a fix please help.
* I got to the screen with the triangle and then get to blue screen of hopefully life where I hit wipe// apply factory reset.
But there is a message saying can't open /cache/recovery/command is that bad?

If it still wipes even with the can' open blah blah blah then your fine. If it doesn't, keep trying. I had to try at least 4 times till it finally wiped once.
If that doesn't work, you'll have to sbf

Good luck!
I went to do the OTA update today, but my update failed everytime, giving me a exclamation mark upon reboot. Now my phone is rooted and i had the webtop hack. Tried 3 times using OTA, and all failed, so i un did the webtop hack, got rid of the 3 apk files i added, then tried, still failed. Disabled outside apps, still failed. Then i downloaded the update to the sd card, tried that way, still failed.
So then i went to motos website and did the auto upgrade feature, and it took a long time for the program to install, but it finally connected to my phone, then at about 75% it failed, phone shut off, and then locked up. Tried reboot 3 times, never getting past splash screen. Took batt out, then let it sit. About 5 mins into att splash screen, i got a purple blinking light on my phone, then booted up and BAM!!! 2.3!!!
So even tho it said i failed, i have the new software!!! Lets hope it works ok.
Im on sort of the same boat here. I have 1.83 rooted through the GLADROOT after OTA update. i keep getting the exclamation mark upon reboot. After taking battery out and rebooting i still get the update failed message
ever since yesturday i have not been able to DL from the market i get the an error that says "app name" could not be downloaded due to error -101. I don't even know what I did, but my phone is basically useless now. I tried to install the PAC ROM over the summer but I got stuck ina boot loop and had to emergency reset flash back to what I thought was stock firmware using RSD Lite. I don't know if it was actually stock because when I booted up my phone, everything seemed to be in order; but then I found that the play store was not working. Whenever I opened the play store, I got the message "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped." I tried a bunch of methods from here from people who had similar problems, but nothing worked so I decided it must have been the firmware that I used. So then I went and took a 4.04 firmware from the same place I got the first one and went to flash it. The flash on RSD Lite did not work. I tried a bunch of different firmwares and none of them seemed to work. And now, my phone has gotten even worse. Recently, I got a message saying that my storage space was getting low, when I could see in my settings app that it wasn't. And then, this morning, I got a message saying that storage space is too low, you will not be able to receive messages. Then about fifteen minutes later my wireless service dropped and I can't get any service now. I don't think that it is a carrier problem because I have been in the same place as I was yesterday and I was getting full 4G bars the whole time. Anybody know what I can do? I am unrooted an my bootloader is unlocked.
Have you tried Matt's utility? Option 1 I believe found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249773

Each time I try to download the OTA update, my s4 will download around 200 mb and then stop. A little message will pop up saying the download was interrupted and that I should try again in 24 hours. I then go manually change the date and the process repeats its self. Is there anything I can do?
I had the same problem until I changed times, close the update process, restarted phone a few times, and now I'm currently at 75% downloading.
