Beta3.4.1
- Best GPS I have seen yet. I used GPS libraries/binaries/config from JK4 rom + jupiter.xml from CLshortFuse's v0006 fix + secgps.conf tweaks, etc. Tested it out today. Works awesome. Tracks me perfectly around curves. Stops when I stop. Doesn't lose lock. These are my results. Hopefully you have the same.

- Bluetooth changes.
- Several other tweaks and app changes. I was up late last night.

- Added LBSTestMode (thanks adamholden85)
- Added VoiceDialer (thanks inneyeseakay)
Beta 3.0.1
- Initial public release
This rom was originally based off of GeoMod, but has since become heavily modified. Major thanks geokhentix for a great base. I've put a lot of time into this and finally have everything exactly how I want it. I figured it was time to release it.

Installation Instructions:
BACKUP First!
Flash back to stock via Odin.
Master clear (THIS WILL DELETE EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE!).
Root with one-cick root. (note you can skip this step if you copy update.zip to the root of your sdcard)
Copy rom to SD Card.
Install Rom Manager
Flash Clockwork mod recovery from within Rom Manager.
Reboot into recovery.
Choose Reinstall packages (might have to do twice).
Choose Install zip from sdcard.
Choose zip from sdcard.
note: You can skip the rom manager and rooting steps if you already have the CWM update.zip. Just copy it back to the root of your sdcard after master clear. Then copy the rom over and reboot into recovery.
It will now take a long time to reboot. It should ask you if you want to backup and restore. Please select this option. It will automatically apply the lagfix. After everything is finished and installed I recommend some additional steps.
Open up Spare Parts and set window and transition animations to Fast instead of normal.
Reboot phone again to make sure android id applies successfully.
Enjoy!

Awesome. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions!

Ill give it a shot. See how something different performs for a change. With your install procedures, you should mention that if people already have the update.zip on the root of their phone they wont have to re-root the phone. Just make sure you have a backup in case master clear removes it. Makes it a much easier process.
I am going to give it another try. I don't flash Rom's as much as most so I forgot a key step. Will report my findings here once flashed.

This looks absolutely beautiful. Well done!

Could you try making a version with the 1280 kernel??

Does BT voicedial work?

What if i flash ji6 modem, would it work? Need to have working wired headset for calls. Thanks

So far I am still waiting on the Android bootscreen. After installing the zip, I selected backup and restore, it did its thing and went back to the same screen. I did it a second time to not mess anything up. Now it has been sitting for about 7 min. I will give it some more time and see if it ever boots past this screen.
So I am unable to flash this. The first time is as I stated above. So I wiped back to JF6. Did Master clear which I have never had to do with a Rom before. Went back through the steps and now it is stuck at the bootscreen again. What is weird is it went to the bootscreen and then it went to the battery screen. Now I am stuck on the bootanimation again. I can not recommend this Rom in its current state. It should not be this way to flash, and I can not even get it to go past the boot screen.

Very odd. Is it possible the mirror from multiupload didn't have the complete file yet? I've flashed it several times and never had this problem.

mixing a captivate modem with an i9000 kernel tends to result in lack of voice in phone calls...

I noticed you said it went to the battery screen. Did you flash with the usb cable inserted?
I just flashed back to stock, master cleared and reflashed. Did the backup and restore and everything booted up perfectly. Only took a few minutes.

Yeah...I think that could be the problem. I will try again in a bit because I just tried another rom and had the same issue. We will see. Sorry, I wasn't trying to make it seem like the Rom was bad. I should have worded my post differently.

Should work but I don't have a BT device to confirm. Can you try and let us know?

Ok. How long did it take to start after getting to the boot screen? I have been stuck for 5 minutes on my newest flash without the USB plugged in. I flashed Assonance and it booted up within 2 minutes after it reached the boot screen.

Going to let my phone die this evening (calibrating battery); but I will try this out tomorrow morning and post results.
Do you have the Voice Dialer app in the drawer?

Great ROM so far. Haptic feedback is best so far and GPS seems to be great. Is there any way to get original messaging back. I don't see an option to scroll through contacts.

This might be a really been question but. I always see quadrant and unpack scores. A) what apps so I. Download to test these. And b) what. Does each score represent. Please excuse my nieveness but I'm curious

LinPack tests raw CPU speed in MFLOPS. A 15-16 is a standard Captivate Score. An 18 is pretty effing high, but probably also because it's overclocked to 1.3 ghZ
Quadrant tests GPU speeds as well as CPU i believe. The 1st part of the test is CPU based, so Captivate tends to be slower in the 1st part of the Quadrant test compared to Nexus One 2.2+ sometimes or some of the newer Droids, but on the GPU part where the program takes the phone through many graphical tests, Captivate & Galaxy S phones in general trump all because the graphics chip is phenomenal in the phone.
Hope this helps!

[ROM-FROYO]Di11i's Darkyy's Raw Steel *v2.0*-CAPTIVATEDw/SetiroNs Kernel

-Updated to v2.0
=Newer JPO base
=Still JPP modem
=Fixed haptic feedback with home button!!
=ad-blocking added-credit to DG for his host's file
=Kernel updated to newest version
=BLN working
=Added newer SetCPU-After reading SetiroN's thread, its advised that setCPU NOT be used, if you dont want to overclock, check the box in the Voltage Control app to keep clock speed at 1ghz. if you dont, your already overclocked to 1.2. setCPU not needed to overclock
=Added root explorer
=accidentely put shoot me(screen shot) in data/app-forgot to take it out of the uploaded version before i uploaded and its force closing when you open it. if you want it, just download from the market for free.
=Newest version of Voltage Control attached to this post. Put on internal SD card and just click on it in root explorer and install.
=the multitouch keyboard is FCing. just delete DroidX_KeyboardGreen.apk from system/app. swype and samsung keyboard are working fine. ill upload the keyboard when i figure out what is making it fc.
-Attached to this post is a fix for the music and video players(thanks to opcow for figuring it out). just extract the 2 files and put them in /system/lib and both players will work. This is for those who already downloaded rom 2.0- v2.0.1 fixes this issue(no need to update to 2.0.1 if youve already installed 2.0.-----2.0.1 is just the media players' fix.
=Install the same way as v1.0 with the jg8 modem and everything. This version will not go between H and 3G, it will pretty much say 3G all the time now even though HSUPA IS working. here is a pic

I have completely redone this ROM based on Darkyys latest release, rethemed it, and added and removed some things.
-Original rom is Darkyy's Raw Steel V3.0. Credit to Darkky for this great rom.(this rom is fast with no lagfix or overclock)
-Captivate phone, contacts and camera-removes reference's to video chat and front facing camera.
-Completely rethemed with pieces from all of my favorite themes.
-Fixed build.prop so protected apps can be seen on the market.
-Uses SetiroN's kernel v1.2. Overclockable, ability to undervolt, tons of lag-fix options built in with a custom version of clockwork recovery. Credit to him for this great kernel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=828052
-Completely deodexed and zipaligned. Big APN file for instant inernet/mms access.
-Custom black Droid X/2 QWERTZ keyboard(its installed to your sd card-go to internal sd card and just click on the multitouch folder then install
-AOSP(themed) lockscreen
-ADW launcher installed to system, TWlauncher still included(delete if you dont want it- /system/app/Touchwiz3.0launcher)
-Comes with custom icons for launcher pro.
-Comes with SetCPU to overclock(or keep at 1ghz) and Voltage Control to undervolt if wanted.
-HSUPA supported and JPP modem included.
-Im tired of typing so im gonna stop here.
TO INSTALL THIS ROM-THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET HSUPA TO WORK RIGHT
I always leave the clockwork recovery update.zip on my internal sd card so when i flash stock i dont have to install anything i can just reboot into recovery and install clockwork.(no need to root or anything when you flash to stock)
1. Download this rom and put it on your internal sd.
2. Flash to stock JF6 with odin one click(if anyone needs it let me know i will upload it for them)
3. Download the attached JG8 modem at bottom of this post, extract to desktop or whatever.
4. With the full version of odin, put the JG8 modem in the "phone" slot of odin
5. Put your phone into download mode then plug it into the computer.(make sure odin is open before you do this)
6. Hit start. odin will flash the new modem-should only take about 5 seconds.
7. Reboot your phone into recovery mode, reinstall clockwork (reinstall packages)
and then choose update.zip from sd card. Select this rom and install it
I suggest that as soon as you install this rom reboot into recovery before you set anything up and apply your lagfix of choice first. That way you can just select option 3 (i think) so you can just apply lag fix. It automatically does a factory reset after you apply the lagfix. If you havent set anything up, you wont lost anything. If you set everything up first, or you want to change your lagfix later, select option one. It will backup, apply the lagfix, then restore everything so you wont lose anything.
Im using NO RFS advanced, all partitions JFS, no binds or ext loops, 1.2 overclock with -50mv UV at 100-800mhz and -25mv UV at 1000-1200mhz. This gives great battery life and its FAST. linpack is around 17mflops everytime.
Download v2.0.1(media player fix, removed setcpu)

These ADW icons are not included. I bought them off the market for 1.50 from jonnybueno. Just search that name and its called ADW black gloss2. i hight suggest checking him out on the market. hes got some great themes for ADW.
What exact options and how did you select them for lag fix and also did you select any of the special tweaks stuff as well?
I like what you are doing with this ROM, except I prefer Launcher Pro so which one I remove with Titanium to delete ADW?
Thanks!
Couple of questions.
1) Does bluetooth works completely?
2) When you add an Exchange account, does a pop up appear saying it'll send you imei and phone number to Samsung to track activation?

if you want to use launcher pro, just either install it like normal, or put it in /system/app. thats what i usually do and i delete twlauncher and just use either launcher pro or adw launcher. you can delete adw launcher out of system/app its called org.adwlauncher-1.apk. you get to the lagfix options from clockwork under ULF options. i have no tweaks enabled just all JFS plus overclock.
Im gonna flash this when I get home looks sweet! However I know huspda will be slow as hell no matter what I do and itll be jumping to 3g back and forth

i dont use blue tooth or exchange but i do have a blue tooth for my ps3 so i guess i could link it to the phone and see if it works.
The only thing i can say (since i dont use it at all) is that it paired to my ps3 bluetooth and it did pair to my phone and i could hear and talk to the person on the other line like normal. what is it exactly thats supposed to be broken with some of these roms with no bluetooth?

Yes and it already comes with a custom one
Just a suggestion - it's going to happen, so I suggest providing all the links for the appropriate files (odin/clockwork recovery) etc.. Hopefully will alleviate some unneeded posts for new comers that see a new ROM..
Nice bootanimation, very fast and finally no static on bluetooth. Very Nice Job. Thanx
Very nice looking. I am interested in trying this rom but have one dumb question. I've not tried a hsupa rom before because I am not really interested in hsupa, but I really like your theme/style. Can I just skip the JG8 steps and flash the rom if I want to run without hsupa?

The problem with that is if you do not flash the jg8 modem first and do it like i have them steps in a row, is that without doing that first the modem will not connect to an 850 band. you will be stuck on 950 and even when 850 is available it will not switch to it it will just lose service. or if your 1900 signal is weak and 850 is available and stronger, the phone will stay on 1900 and drain your battery searching for a signal. so its just easier to do those extra couple steps and it only takes an extra few minutes plus you get hsupa. and ive found the jpp modem to be the best out of all when its done right and switching bands correctly. the jj4 modem when i was running cognition, my standby was sometimes taking up 15-20% battery. with JPP done like i said in my first post, its always at 1%.
and a work to the wise. i just tried no rfs overkill-all ext4 with ext2 loops for the 3 partitions, and im running into some problems. its fast, and scores 2300 in quadrant, but im running out of room in dbdata and ive had a couple fc's. it was perfect on no frs advanced all partitions ext4 but i had to mess with it so im switching back to all ext4 or maybe all jfs again.

Gotcha thanks. I'll be flashing before the Pats come on.
Could you please give me a link where I can buy the black gloss theme, I searched the market for jonnybueno and only three items come up for Open Home Skin and shows no match on market for ADW Black Gloss2. I like the look of that theme, it makes you rom standout in my eyes.
yes! this looks like a theme I can sink my teeth into but I'm on simple mobile so I can't even use the 850 network. I have forgotten what network I wind up eventually using but its same as T-Mobile and I get terrible battery and signal with other Roms. I'm not sure what the situation is that causes this but I'm back on the stock with root now. is there a way to get that theme and is this Tom froyo? cause I like using my headphones with the phone as a mic for calls too. really wonderful looking rom. keep up the skills.

VEGAn-Tab SUPPLEMENT ROM Manager Support (Beta3b, updated 12/13/10)

The usual USE AT YOUR OWN RISK disclaimer. I'd also highly recommend clockworkmod recovery .08 as a pre-req. We are only testing for cwm users.
I Recommend a CACHE Wipe. Data wipe shouldn't be necessary.
IF YOU DON'T USE or DON'T PLAN TO USE - ROM Manager - Then there is no need to update. These changes will be added to BETA 4. Unless you want the new boot IMAGE below instead of the G-Tablet on white background currently present.
Build URL: http://vegantab.gojimi.com/
Downloads: http://vegantab.gojimi.com/downloads
1.0.0 Beta3b Link: http://vegantab.gojimi.com/download/gtab.vegan.1.00.beta3b.zip
This is an update.zip formatted file. You'd run this like you'd run any other update.zip file.
-----------------------------------------------
This is a collaborative effort between myself, Roebeet, Rothnic and whoever else wants to pitch in. A ROM based off the Advent Vega firmware.
Benefits of this supplement
- ROM Manager should now allow you to select G-Tablet as your device
Known issues(same as BETA 3)
- sdcard2 will not remount if you eject and re-insert (should be fixed in beta 3).
- The initial Google setup on a fresh install will not get past the first screen (I believe it's because the phone apks were removed). The fix for this is to use the "four corner fix", to bypass. See this video for details: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5XjF6sPef4. This should be fixed in beta 3.
- weird orange bar is showing up in the stock Calendar app.
Changelog
- (a2) We are using alpha1 as our "base" image, and then a modular format on top of that. So, alpha2 is a full update.zip package.
- (a2) VOLD should be fixed using a hack. 30 seconds after bootup, SDCARD2 should start working. Or, it may not work. It's an alpha.
- (a2) Vega user apk script has been added, which is supposed to add Flash on a newly wiped system. But it's spotty at best.
- (a2) Camera should be fixed.
- (a2) We're deleting some of the unneeded system apps like Twitter, Facebook, the Htc stuff in gapps and talkback. You can always add these back via the Market. The reason is to keep the image a little cleaner.
- (a2) Audio fix added.
- (a3) Added changes to the framework for smaller status bar and VEGAn boot screen.
- (a3) Added Gingerbread keyboard.
- (b1) SSL bug fixed. Also, added the latest YouTube and Gmail apps. Removed the user apk script for now, as it's really buggy.
- (b2) VOLD post-boot replaced with a mount commend. Should be more stable and might fix the disappearing apps, I hope. New Gmail, adhoc wireless support added, adfree hosts file removed (get "adfree android" app in the market to get it back), removed the Phone apks which should improve battery life.
- (b3) Mounting issues should be completely corrected, audio issues are corrected, new rothnic theme added, new Gmail and Voice apps, new Settings app with advanced Wifi (and policy is set to "never sleep" by default).
- (b3b) Fixed ROM Manager to allow G-Tablet device Selection
New Boot Image replaces G-Tablet logo on white background:

Finally, it is not embarrassing to reboot in public. Thank you much.
Well, everything was working fine. I cleared cache and installed the new update and now I cant get WIFI to connect. I'd really prefer not to data wipe.
Just goes from scanning, to connected, back to disconnected, then scanning again. Sigh
If you are using wireless tether for android, try quickly enabling then disabling access control. It should connect almost immediately after that. Works for me, anyways.

And yes I rebooted.
New boot image is great. Now I just have to follow the guide to get rid of the birds.
I didn't have any problems applying this over my beta 3 vegan. Wifi connected just fine. Just had to do the market fix again. Easy peasy.
Good job.

Did you guys do something to improve 3D graphics? Like pick up a new GLES lib??? As my Quadrant scores are Now 2610!!! Only slowdown is IO writes else I couldn't have watched any individual test, as each so swift...
Lost access to the internal SD card while in CM. I can still see it with root explorer but now I have to place all zip files to flash on the external card... Not a bid deal but I'm wondering id that was the intent....
this is awesome! unlocked some stuff that i couldn't use before in rom manager. now it properly flashes the latest cwm recovery and also able to flash back to bekit 0.8. nice! liking the new boot image as well.

What Clockwork did you flash from ROM Manager... or have currently on your tablet. As far as I know. only bekit 0.8 clockwork also available on ROM Manager allows access to internal memory. Until that is changed we still recommend 0.8.
Let me know.
ok this newest version isn't working right for me. i'm on version 2.5.1.8 (the latest) and it only recognizes sdcard2 and not sdcard. when i make a backup, it goes to sdcard2. when i choosed to install a zip, it looks in sdcard2. i tried reflashing back to bekit 0.8 but it wouldn't even let me create a backup. i'm gonna try and flash to a dif version.

I had a similar issue. if i tried to run from Rom Manager, after going back to bekit 0.8, it still tried to go to the sdcard2. if I manually rebooted into recovery it worked fine.

awesome! this worked. flashed back to bekit 0.8 and booted into recovery using hot reboot, not rom manager. i guess rom manager is pretty much useless at this point for me.

This wipes everything except internal/external sdcard. It flashes modem, kernel, data and system files.
The attached zip files below are CWM recovery (update.zip) and Android Debug Bridge (ADB.zip).
Installation
If you are on stock JF6-JH7, use the following steps to flash this ROM. If you are already on a custom ROM, you should know how to flash a ROM
1. Disable any lagfix you may have.
2. Place the update.zip on the root directory of your internal sdcard, and place the ROM into the root directory as well.
3. Power phone off.
4. Hold down volume up, volume down, and power until you see the ATT boot image.
5. Continue holding volume up and volume down, but release the power button. Once you see the recovery menu, release all buttons.
6. Use the volume buttons to select "Reinstall Packages" and use power button to confirm your selection, your phone will reboot to recovery again.
7. "Reinstall Packages" one more time, you will now see ClockWorkMod Recovery.
8. Using volume buttons to select and back key to confirm: Select flash zip (or install zip, something like that), then select flash zip (or install zip) from sdcard.
9. Select the ROM and then it will ask you to confirm again.
10. Once you see "Install from sd complete." You can go back and then reboot system. It normally takes about 5 minutes for the first boot.

Yes, but be aware this includes 3e recovery. You cannot use update.zip CWM to flash another ROM, only way I know so far is to use ODIN 1-click restore.
Until a custom kernel is made with CWM integrated or a CWM is made with new signatures you cannot use CWM.
Looking forward to this ryude!

Still a lot of work needs to be done, and we desperately need a custom kernel built from source in order to really see improvements.

[ROM]We're Back! [01/17/12] 3.2.1 Honeylicious Flash Glass HC Stock Based Kernel

Honeylicious 3.2.1 Flash Glass
Now that the Holidays are over, and worked has slowed down somewhat, I have more time to spend with the thread.
Honeylicious was created for myself, by myself so I wouldn't have to rely on someone else's work.
I got sick of the "stick figure UI" that Google continues to produce, so what you'll see here is something more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", so if it doesn't please you, you can download
The UI has had a "glass" filter applied through Photoshop to give it a "glassy" finish.
You won't see any custom kernels here, nor revision updates, as these are all tried, tested, and true final releases.
What you will find is one of the fastest, smoothest, most dependable, and stable stock kernel based ROMs out anywhere for the Acer Iconia A500.!
Please read the "Install Instructions" carefully, and/or watch the Video Tutorial on how to flash correctly.
The 3.2.1 Youtube Fix is included in this Rom thanks to Civato.
Special thanks to Civato @ XDA for all his help in getting the camera working properly with this ROM, for the original apks he had given me, which have been changed immensely since that time, although there are a few png files that still remain the same, and all the other help and inspiration he has provided.
When you purchase a new automobile, it doesn't come with free driving lessons, neither does Android, and this ROM doesn't either. There are a few things you'll need to know before flashing a ROM.
If you're unsure of what you need to do, or simply can't follow the explicit directions in the "Install Instructions" (video included), take this link first to get you started. Click Here for the wealth of information in the A500 Wiki.
If you've previously flashed another one of Thor's ROMs with his custom kernel that he refuses to release the source code for, you may have problems flashing other ROMs until you COMPLETELY WIPE AND FORMAT YOUR SDCard. My personal opinion on this matter is, "if you have nothing to hide, then why are you hiding it?"
DO NOT USE ANY MODS FROM ANY OTHER VERSION OF HONEYLICIOUS AS YOU WILL BE MODIFYING YOUR SYSTEMUI.APK, AND FRAMEWORK-RES.APK WITH AN INCORRECT VERSION AND YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS!
Now, onto the ROM:
It's built on Stock PB G100W 4.010.05_COM_GEN1 found HERE: Stock base (stock kernel), Honeylicious sweet, rooted, tweaked for speed and stability, superuser and Busybox installed, and Bootloader.blob removed, that you've come to know for it's rock solid dependability, stability, and the most speed you can eek out of a stock based ROM, with an Icey Glass Finish!
What Works:
EVERYTHING!
What Doesn't Work:
NOTHING!
This ROM has had all of the useless stock apps that are constantly in "Running Services" ripped out, to give extra battery life, as well as speed. You'll notice in the "Running Apps Settings" screen shot that only two other apps are running (besides "Settings", and "Screen Shot It" which were needed to take the screen shot).
Apps Ripped Out:
Game Loft
Link to Facebook
Music
Nemo Player
Social Jogger
Sound Hound
Zineo
Replace Ripped out Glass App Pack HERE:All apps in one zip file (unzip main file to find individual apps in their own CWM Flashable zip files). So you can add in whatever you like to slow your system down once again.
What Extra Apps are included:
System Apps Added
Polaris Office
Extra Data Apps Added: (you may uninstall through "Settings", "Applications", "Manage Applications").
Avast Android Mobile Security (you need to open it once in applications to setup your preferences for it to run)
SDRescan
AdFree
HD File Explorer
HD BackGammon
HD Solitaire
HD Spades
Bluetooth File Transfer
Dolphin HD Browser
Fancy Widgets (free version)
Shake Calculator
Adobe Flash 11.1
Google Voice
Fancy Widgets has a battery meter included in the Weather/Clock widget. Go into Fancy Widget settings, "clock settings", "extra information", and tick "show battery level" for 1% increment battery levels. Fancy Widgets is the Weather/Clock widget shown in the screen shots, both weather and clock are "MIUI Inspired" style selected in "appearance" settings.
What's Different:
Ice Blue Glass Themed Rom
Five Extra Ice Blue Themed Wallpapers located in the stock Google Wallpapers.
Five Extra Themed Wallpapers located in the stock Google Wallpapers.
ICS Fonts
ICS Clocks
GPS Tweaks have been added to ensure rapid GPS Lock!
Latest Version of Superuser, and binaries.
All the goodness that 3.2.1 brings with it including the Newest Market. As you can see from the running applications Screen Shot there are only two running apps (aside from "settings", and "ScreenShotIt" which needed to be running to take the screen shot.
If you choose not to follow the explicit Install Instructions, not only do you do so at your own risk, I don't want to hear any whining about ANYTHING not working correctly, and post your questions HERE!
This ROM has been tested EXTENSIVELY with absolutely no problems or glitches whatsoever (hence "final release").
Normal disclaimer about how flashing a rom can be dangerous for your Tablet, blah, blah, blah. Please always perform a backup before flashing this ROM. If you some how screw the pooch, consider it "Pilot Error", and I am not responsible.
If you want to flash another kernel with this ROM, you do so at your own risk. I have no idea who's kernel will work with this ROM. If you do choose to flash a custom kernel with this ROM, please direct all questions regarding problems you are experiencing in the thread that you got your kernel from, as they will not be answered here.
If you are having problems with certain apps, remember this is a Stock Based Rom, so please direct your questions regarding said app to the developer of the app.
I took much of my own time and effort building this ROM, typing up instructions, and creating the install video. If you ask a question in this thread that has OBVIOUSLY already been answered in this OP, the only reply you will receive from me is this:

You're very kind I'll give it some thought. I did just complete a small ICS anim, more for fun than anything else but you might like to look at it. I won't bother you by attaching it here but my good friend JaeKar99 has just added a preview gif of my anim to my post which is on the last page of the thread "Publish your A500 Boot Anims......." in the Themes & Apps section.
OP - Thought I'd throw this one at you, it's only a re-hash of what I did before but more specific to your rom. I have to admit that I don't have a single ounce of artistic ability in my body so what you get from me is always pretty simple and uncomplicated. I fear that it might not be "high tech" enough for your needs but worse case it costs neither of us anything and may give you some ideas.
Latest thought.....Should it be of interest to you then the "speed" and "display period" could easily be adjusted to your requirements.
ah, nice work kjy.
No problem on taking it apart and giving it your own twist.
That is why it is there for.
Don't forget it is BigDX is the one that did start this Modding,I changed an modded the ICS stuff into it so it worked on the A500.
I also got settings icones but didn't use them because I think it makes the settings menu out of balance.
If you want some stuff let me know.

hi, kjy2010,
As you know, I'm very proud of your previous ROM, which I've flashed before. As I have Quickoffice installed, could be a problem if I remove the Polaris Office apk within the zip file (without winzipping it), before flashing this ROM?
Thanks!

First, you have to have root access, and CWM installed to flash a ROM. There are plenty of threads in this forum on the subject, please use the search function. They will guide you through root, CWM, and backup.
Second, some people have reported success using Civato's 3gmodem patch located in his thread.
Please take these other questions to the appropriate threads, not here

This ROM is bare bone striped down the apps and replaced with lighter counter parts.
The only addition I included is minimum Gapps some choice addons and Rom ToolBox to OC, change I/O schedulars
and other adjustments you would like to make. (Recomended Memory Manager Preset setting= Strict)
Check apply on boot then apply settings. Perfomance settings still need to be worked out within the ROM for I/O settings.
Also for Task Killing without a app go to system settings/Developer options (Turn on first)
then select "Background process limit" to (No background processes or Limit to 1)

Its not just the boot loader that is needed it is the expanded system partition that is also. Your best bet is to NVFlash the package in the OP. Not only will it set your device into the 1.2bl but it will expand your system partition so it can load the updated firmware.
So who's tried this out and how did it work?

No issues here. It worked perfectly the first time. I had already nvflashed the linked file, so I re-formatted the internal sdcard per the instructions then flashed the ROM.
nobe1976, you are a magician. THANK YOU.
My tablet performs very well now, with an occasional hiccup. It sometimes becomes unresponsive temporarily when I'm doing a lot. For example, from the Play Store, I had about 5 apps queued up to download/install. While that was going, it would go unresponsive for sometimes 10-15 seconds.

Use root explorer or similar app and change the lcd density in /system/build.prop from 160 to 120 and reboot.

To resize just open ES Explorer and give it Root permmisions and change in the build.prop the ro.sf.lcd_density=160 to 120 then reboot. No need to add Root Explore when ES will do everything and more without adds.
Updated OP with a 120 density version.

Are you absolutely certain that you are on BL 1.2 with a system partition of 250m. I would like to try to get everyone on board with this let me know and I will see what I can do to assist.

Reboot it will only get better.
All I can say is WOW! Fantastic ROM. The only hiccup I had was that I got an "unable to reach server" error in Google Play. I did the old market fix from the froyo days and that did the trick. Thanks much.

I keep getting stuck on the 3 birds loop. the 3 birds appear, then the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds and then the birds reappear. this happens a couple of times then it gets stuck on the birds.
i had the same issue on all ICS roms as well. Flashback HC rom works flawless every time so i have to revert back to it.
Please suggest a solution. i'd love to try out JB on my tab.

Give me the day and I will pm you with something to try out that has gotten me out of a jam a time or two. Have work today and won't have any computer time till later this afternoon.
Possible Bug Report: On my tab, the sound will not switch to my BT headphones. They paired correctly, and I have performed multiple iterations of rebooting, switching BT on/off, etc...no success thus far.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Otherwise, this is a thing of beauty.

If this is based on the Team DRH Dirty Bean - it doesn't work there either. Last time I saw this issue was when the "phone" apps were not installed as part of the selected apps on ICS - it pairs but no BT audio.
