Are you using the stock TouchWiz launcher? Or another home-replacement app (LauncherPro, ADW)?
im using stock Touchwiz launcher

if its a rom using the newer touchwiz mod then the icon can be dragged off and removed, just open your apps and find the icon your missing and drag it back onto the dock.
if its the original touchwiz launcher then that usualy means that something happened to the app itself, did you try to install any system apps recently?
sometimes this happens with failed installs to the system app folder that replace another system app, or removal of a system app without replacing it.
I did try to drag and drop to the dock but still can't except the two icons on the middle ie. Message and Contacts, lastly yes i did install apps that i bought from market place Sheet Metal Calculator. I don't know about newer rom for touchwiz mod and how to do that, thanks a lot for quick reply...

its usualy replacing system apps (like the dialer) that cause that, but it sounds like you havent done that.
is the dialer and/or contacts app in your app drawer still?
or is it missing from both the dock and the app drawer?
i only got 3 icons on the dockr, Application, Contacts, Message missing Dialer, i don't know why what i can't drag into lower left corner my dialer icon..

So the dialer is in your app drawer then?
you probably cant drag because the stock touchwiz launcher does not support that.
A short fix would be to temporarily use a replacement launcher like ADW launcher or launcher pro from the market, with either of those you can drag the dialer onto the dock at the bottom.
as far as fixing your stock launcher:
Are you rooted?
and if so are you running a different rom?
And if so:
Which rom are you running?
yes Dialer still in the App Drawer, so far looks ok after purchasing Luncher Pro, but if switching to TwLauncher still the same, yes i am rooted with Samsung Galaxy One Click All Models and lastly i didn't install any rom or flash since i don't how to do it right now.
Still not figure out how to put back my Dialer icon my on Dock settings, i tried Launcher Pro is really good but still wanted to put back my default TW Launcher, i tried reboot my phone several times, drag icon into my dock still not working. You help is very much appreciated..

Nerobeta3+dow1.4+oclf
What is Nerobeta3+dow1.4+oclf a program where can i download this if ever? Is this will fix my problem? I'm missing my Dialer icon on my phone if you could photo of my previous post.
so nobody solve my problem, so should i stay with Launcher Pro then?
I have the same problem, I recently flashed the Nero v3 ROM and BlackFroyo Theme and my dock icons are missing except the app icon. Does any have a fix for this?
This worked for me on stock Rom. Go to settings, applications, manage applications and select the all tab. Look for TWlaucher and click clear data. You will lose all your settings for your screens - widgets, shortcuts, etc... for touchwiz, but you can easily reset those. It did bring my contact, dialer and messaging apps back!
Thanks for this!! I lost all but applications from the dock when I upgraded to stock froyo, I thought this was the way it was supposed to be, and I was disappointed. Cleared the data, and they are all back again!!!!
Many thank you's!!!!

0.4.1 ?
i only have 0.30 via the market :/
0.4.4 is out. market has a problem so grab the apk from www.launcherpro.com
I think that this is the best launcher replacement by far. Very smooth and light.
I love this launcher as well.
I have a stupid question however. They talk about "drawers" a lot...what is this feature?
-------------------------------------
Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
I prefer Launcher Pro to the other apps I have tried like Helix, ADW - loving the amount of customisation you can do with it and how snappy it is as well.
As for a 'drawer' well thats the part you pull up where all your apps are found
Is that all? Why do they make it sound like such a huge feature? I have been looking for a widget or setting and found nothing.
Thanks for clearing that up for me
I have 0.4.4 version. Best launcher for me, better than adw launcher

Can someone tell me how to change the icons on the dock. I know if you hold on them you get a very specific list of things you can put on their but gmail and the calendar arent even ones you can pick. I like those on my dock. is that possible??

Froyo Bugs
Has anyone else encountered the problem of not being able to install custom icons? It fc's
Also, LauncherPro on Froyo has an app2sd problem that sd apps do not load until LauncherPro is restarted.
I was thinking about using the Script Scheduler I found on this site to kill then restart LauncherPro at every boot, but my bash skills are woefully inadequate. Anyone think they can give me a hand?

I just switched from sense to Launcher Pro Beta, and I must say that it is amazing... It's just so much more predictable and useful, not to mention faster and smoother. On top of that, from what I have heard, it is great for battery life, just switched so I haven't had a chance to test that out yet.
If you haven't given it a shot yet, download it from the market and try it out, I promise you will not regret it. Its MUCH better than sense. I never had a problem with sense, but I just figured Id try something new, and it paid off...
P.S Does anybody know if the new software patch that came out today will be included in any of the developers roms? I'm not to sure how that stuff works.
ADW.Launcher is also a worthy alternative, imo. Very customizable.

You can't use HTC widgets outside of the Sense launcher. However, there are replacement widgets in the Market for almost everything you are missing. For example, Pure Grid Calendar Widget and Weather & Toggle Widgets.

I played around with it after that post, but just couldnt get it how I wanted it AGAIN. So Im back to sense haha. I really need 6 icons on the dock at the bottom to avoid extra icons on my home screen. I also wanted a 4G toggle to match the rest, and that doesnt seem to be out. The only one out (that I could find) is a light bulb..

You know with LauncherPro you can change it to 5 rows of icons (20 total) on the screen at once, right? You can potentially have 28 more slots than with Sense.

Im talking about JUST the dock at the bottom. Not shortcuts added to the screen itself. Right now I have the rosie bar at the bottom that launches my app drawer/phone/etc. Then I have 4 icons above it. Handcent, Gmail, Internet and People. With LauncherPro I can have all 4 of those on the dock, but then the 5th spot is taken by either the app drawer or phone. I want both. I know you can do the scroll thing, but its not the same. I just like a simple look and wanted everything I have now on my HOME screen.
Here is the setup now. I want all of the same access on the home screen, and it cant be done with LauncerPro. 5 short cuts on the dock and then a random widget on the screen just wouldnt look as clean.

ADW.Launcher works pretty good.
A few things I like:
- You can make as many columns and rows of Icons as you want per screen (up to 8 x 8, so that would be 64 icons per screen).
- Swipe down anywhere on a screen to make the top bar come down
Updated to ADW latest github
I hacked up ADW launcher to have a MIUI'sih dock. It's nothing special but I kinda dig it so i figured id dump it here to share. I'm pretty sure it will only work in portrait mode because i never use landscape i didn't bother modding that source.
Thanks to Anderweb for having such a great open source project!
Thanks to Jrizzill for having such great icons!
- ADWSettings->Main Dock Style->5 Icons has been changed, to have 4 large icons as in pictures below. You must have ADWSettings->UI Settings->Dockbar checked to have swipe gesture open/close app drawer properly.
- Get icons here.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/team-d1-miui/88474-miui-themed-icons.html
- To open/close the app drawer, swipe the dock apps.
- To add a MIUI icon to the dock
1) long press, select custom shortcut
2) press pick your activity, press applications, select application
3) click the icon to the left of the "pick your activity" button, navigate to the one you want to use, click ok.
4) drag and drop it into the dock.
- Use desktop visualizer (1x1 small) for other desktop shortcuts.

OMG this is exactly what I've been looking for. Seriously when i switched from the Incredible to the Fascinate, the one thing I really missed was MIUI and having the large dock. I've been trying to hack launcher pro but this is great! Thank you so much.
Does this need root?
Awesome!
There are only a few bugs that I have found.
- For some reason I can't seem to trash anything on the screen :O Drag to the top of the screen and nothing happens, just reappears on the bottom.
- Sometimes when hitting the home button it forgets what apps are in the dock until I open the tray and close it.
Not sure if those have to do with the version that you compiled, or ADW itself. Anyhow not trying to get down on ya, considering this is exactly what I was looking for!
Can't wait for 2.2 MIUI!

don't believe so
For all those out there using blackhole rom's if you are using the embedded ADW then you can't install this for some reason. I had to reinstall a clean rom with TW and then install this APK.
EDIT:
Sorry for the double post
Glad you guys like it. I will try and fix/tweak a few things. Also will try to make it so that it can be installed side by side with stock ADW.
1) haven't had that happen with missing dock apps. try using the old dock implementation, that's the config i'm using? will mess around with it.
2) do you see the trash icon appear at the top of the screen? try and drag it all the way up to the top and drop it there. it works for me.
3) you don't need root, but if you are using some ROM with ADW pre-installed, just remove it from /system/app and drop this apk in there.

Ok, found it. Still seems to have the same issue sometimes. Once in a while only 2 icons in the tray will appear in the center, until I open the app drawer then close it. Once I do that all is good again.
i updated a new build, try that one.
How do I use these icons in adw? Step by step if possible.
updated to 1.3.1 and added some instructions.
tried using desktop virtualizer to make the other icons. It works but there small. How do I make them larger. I'm using the icons in the link you provided.
Thanks

But can you build a version with dock bar like the dock on mac os? It should look like this image below

MIUI
icons in this launcher are bad, can you port MIUI ADW theme for this? becouse theme haves good icons from MIUI and can you made dock from MIUI(screen indicator, dock style). If this`ll complete, launcher`ll looks pretty good) thanks!
Hey there,
Why cannot be installed on Eclair 2.1?
* LE: I made a mistake, it's working now. Agree with with the fuzzy icons in the dock. And also, is there a way to increase the number of rows? I like the icons to have also their labels, and only this is how it will going to work. Thanks.
Can we change the dockbar??

Try http://www.appbrain.com/app/launcherpro/com.fede.launcher
I installed it and the program doesn't actually come up in my Applications, am I doing something wrong? I got it from the Market.
Install home switcher too then. Run that program and then choose to run launcherpro. Its a different home. Meaning you will have to configure everything on your home screen from new on. But just try it . Your old home will be still there and with the home switcher you can choose wha tyou want to run. Oh and to configure it press in the home menu button and then preferences and play with it a little.
Launcherpro will not appear in the applications list. Use the Home button and hold it until you get a pop-up menu where you can select between sence and lanucherpro.

Is there any possibility to organize apps into folders in the menu and not only on the homescrees? Having 300+ apps can really be a pain in the ass when searching for a particular one, not to mention it would be great to have apps organized by type, e.g., games, system, social.
Dunno what adw launcher does , but there are apps on the market who can help you with organizing. I never did cuz it never made any sense to me. Too much work and I wont use it anyway. Boss was very proud of his organization of the apps and it took him always longer to find the app he needed in the folders....
So check out http://www.appbrain.com/search?q=organize+apps
Hey all, I've got a question. I'm running stock root on my NC with LauncherPro, and for whatever reason, I can't change the shortcuts on the dock. I want to change them to programs I actually have - by default, I don't have a messaging or phone app. Whenever I try to change the shortcut (by holding down on the icon and then going to change it), LauncherPro launches the previous app I had open. Has anyone else had this problem?
I am open to switching launchers - I just use LauncherPro on my phone so I know how to work it. I'm looking for a really fast, minimalistic-launcher. GoLauncher is too feature heavy, and it makes my NC lag. Zeam launcher also lags a lot. I want something very snappy and fluid, even if it is lacking in features.

When you push menu on the home page, there is an option to lock the homepage so you don't accidently mess it up. It is a toggle so just tap it to unlock.
Oh, is there? I can't for the life of me find it. Whenever I press home, lock isn't one of the options.

Well, obviously it is locked so launcher pro must have that setting somewhere. Look in their documentation. For most the other launchers it is in menu on home screen, not in settings.
I installed ADW launcher and uninstalled launcher pro. The lock option is there, but it doesn't change a thing - even with it unlocked, it, still launching the previous app instead of letting me edit the shortcut.

I have two docks, so to speak - the default Nook one, pictured here (just without that arrow in the middle. NOT the book dock, the black bar at the bottom)

And then I have the launcher dock - right now, the ADW launcher dock. Whenever I go to change the short cut on the launcher dock, whether it's ADW or LauncherPro, it kicks me out of the settings window and throws me to the previous program I was using. I tried "unlocking" the dock in the ADW options like suggested, but it still happens.
Ok that thing you have pictured is not a dock, it is the status bar and should always be there even if you have another launcher loaded. The dock is a black bar above that. And on my system you change what is on the adw dock by dragging shortcuts off and on to it. But in order to do that the desktop must be unlocked. Your description of going to a settings window in adw to change shortcuts on the dock does not compute for me.
