What lengths will I have to go to once it comes to the Fascinate to update? (rooted with JT's Super Clean and Voodoo)

Just wait a day or two for a custom ROM that uses it after it releases. No "lengths"

How to get official froyo (whenever that is) when your rooted and have custom rom?

If I get an ota update notification do I accept or do I not and do a install from zip?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
You use ODIN to revert to stock using ODIN the froyo odin files will probably get upped right after the update starts pushing. If your used to a custom rom I'd just wait a few hours after the release and devs will have custom roms based off of it
Thank you. Do I still do a complete odin wipe with custom a 2.2 rom?

Its normally good practice

Totally agree. Once Froyo released the ROM will start coming in. Right now the guys in here are knid enough to make 3 or 4 2.1 ROMs for their own (and our) enjoyment. But as soon as 2.2 releases ROM dev for this phone will get a bigger push.
sleepy8594 , just wait about 60 days or so and you should be pleased with your options.
Appreciated, thank you for the help.

Okay, one question along those same lines.
I'm rooted but using a stock rom. Do I accept the OTA update or do I wait?
Personally I would wait *in case* out root exploit is closed.

It would probably take more than just a few hours since Android 2.2 is based off a newer kernel version.

i would prolly reflash my stock rooted (but can unroot) rom i nandroided

Which one should I flash

Should I flash DJ05 or keep DL09... I heard that dj05 was better with more support and kernals and themes... is this true?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
What you heard was true when DL09 first came out. But there is a Theme Fix here that will allow you to use all DJ05 themes with DL09. And all the latest kernels that have been released are cross compatible between DJ05 and DL09 as well.
good day.
Thanks a lot bro

EB01 voodoo removal

Hey guys,
So I installed the voodoo kernel before seeing that it wasn't a final release. I am wondering if clikcing the remove voodoo in the red cwm is good enough so I can flash superclean 2.1. Thaynks for the help.
Sent from my SCH-I500
I left voodoo on and just flashed superclean 2.1 voodoo and its working without issues.
Well I was going to do that but I couldbt find a link to it.
Sent from my SCH-I500
It's the first link in this post.

When I look at it its just a white box. Like it was removed. I can see the bin voodoo just not the voodoo.
Sent from my SCH-I500
Not sure what you mean I can see it just fine. Maybe its the XDA app?
Use your phones browser instead of tapatalk or xda app.

If i'm running Voodoo V.2 with DH12, could I just run the super clean voodoo version over it and get it to work?
For those who are using Froyo and a voodoo kernel (most likely SuperClean 2.1 Voodoo), how is it running? Also, if running a voodoo kernel will performing a nandroid backup to a non-voodoo rom/kernel completely get rid of voodoo? I just want to be sure I can get back to a voodooless rom if something bad happens with the voodoo version of SuperClean 2.1
Thanks.
I've been running it since last night and it seems snappy, but laggy at times when going through apps in the app drawer... I'm giving it a little more time, hopefully voodoo will be available soon when it is meant for the public. If I start seeing trouble I'll for sure switch to non voodoo via removing the lag fix.

[Q] Do DL09 Roms work on EA28??

Do DL09 Roms work on EA28?? Esp super clean 0.4? Thanks in advance!!
Isn't EA28 a mesmerize or nonverizon-Fascinate update? If so, DL09 is a Verizon Fascinate update, so there may be issues updating or you might mess up your phone.
Rockin' DJ05, Liberty Gingerbread, Clocked at 1.2ghz Voodoo
-----------------------------------
Yes, still on 2.1, waiting on some Gingerbread goodness, but might flash Vanilla Froyo.

No. EA28 is the emergency call button fix for DL09. It basically is DL09. So would DL09 roms work?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
EA28 was the last VZ official Eclair update. It's identical to DL09 crimson what I've read except they fixed the emergency call issue.

There's a flaw in your understanding of what a ROM actually is. If you flash a DL09 ROM on your phone, you're going to be running DL09. You can check and see if the EA28 fix was rolled into Superclean, it's possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't since they've been banging away at Froyo for a while now.
I don't know that if you revert to DL09 if the fix for emergency calling will still be there.

I know what a rom is. Maybe I should rephrase, do DL09 roms work with a EA28 radio

ROOTED Gingerbread EVO on EBAY

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230660143154&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
Most likely a rooted 2.2 evo running a rooted stock 2.3 gingerbread rom; this has to be the case as there is no root for gingerbread.
Obviously.

what is a 2.2 rooted gingerbread rom? That doesnt even make sense.
There is absolutely root for stock gingerbread, just not if you accepted the OTA.
This guy probably just updated the phone to a pre-rooted Sprint EVO gingerbread rom obtained from right here on XDA.

I think he means it was rooted as 2.2 and then updated to a 2.3 rom

Sorry to everyone for that atrocious typo; I was on my thrive tablet, and xda wasn't playing nice. But yes, a rooted 2.2 running a 2.3 rooted stock rom.

Maybe so, but it got more attention than it should have, so it had to be fixed.
Though on the point, its people like him that scam everyone into buying something its not, then let someone new to xda buy it then start a thread of 'I HAVE S-OFF GINGERBREAD ROOT!'
Just calling it now.
