[Q] Flashing new WF ROM - Wildfire General

So I successfully rooted my WF with unrevoked.
I made a Backup with Nandroid.
I saved the ROM on my SD card and selected Wipe / Reset Factory Settings and Wipe cache (or so).
Then I selected my ROM (0001_WildPuzzleROM_v8.0.11) and it installed.
It showed my some kind of BIOS (?) and then got into an infinite picture of an Android. I'm saying infinite because the instructions linked in the WildPussel Release Post says its about 12 minutes and I didn't touch it for about half an hour.
So I took out the battery and used my Recovery image made with Nandroid.
I tried to flash standart 2.2 Froyo (0050_htc_froyo_2.2_orginal_kernel_v2) but I had the same results, an infinite screen of the HTC logo (about 25 mins).
What could be my mistake? I could make a video of me trying to do it.

Did you do a full wipe before flashing new rom?
Also it may help to post in the right forum [ROM]WildPuzzleROM_2.2 Froyo v8.0.11

Thats the weird part, flashing the ROM just seem not to work.

Either way, in your recovery console select wipe data. This will remove the existing stock Rom data which may cause boot looping. After wiping, flash the Rom again.

That's what I did...
It tried it 3 times again today.
3rd time I just cleaned both, ROM and Cache twice each, seems like it worked.

[Q] Did I brick my Hero?

Hello,
Last night I tried to install another radio fw on my Hero because of bad reception since the last one I installed.
I placed the new radio on my SD, rebooted and forgot to push the right buttons to access the "Android system recovery" (RA?) part.
Because it takes ages to wait for the phone to boot I pulled the battery and tried it again witch failed again, pulled the battery again etc.
When I finally managed to acces the "Android system recovery" part I flashed the new GSM radio to my GSM Hero. All the steps in described in the manual I used worked and all looked well.
After rebooting the phone started till the point of the Villainrom logo. I kept the phone on for hours till the battery was fully drained but it stays the same.
I can still acces the "Android system recovery", fast boot etc,
Tried the following:
-Wipe
-Restore backup
I'm getting pretty desperate!!
I's there anyone who has recovered his Hero from such a situation?
Please help..
If you can get to the recovery screen then you're not bricked. just reflash your rom and gapps add on and you should be fine or do a nandroid restore.
Hi pwraggcan,
I already restored a Nadroid backup.. Did not do the trick....
Also I tried to reflash the radio fw... Nothing helps. It just hangs at the unfolding Villainrom Logo which every few minutes restarts unfolding (I don't know how to call it otherwise, I do not mean that the phone restarts).
You're not bricked, so you're OK.
Re-flash the ROM you had installed after wiping your /data
Failing that, remove the SD card as that sometimes helps get the phone to boot.
If all else fails set up adb and get us a logcat.
Download the ROM again, full wipe & try again... Just to make sure the download didn't go bad?

You're welcome
Clear out your SD on your computer (back it up first), format it, and you should be good to go
It's usually the SD when this happens

Openfire ROM Problem

Apologies for the double post but I'm dying to get my wildfire back working.
Rooted it yesterday with unrevoked, attempted to add the Openfire ROM this morning with everything going fine untill the reboot. I'm now stuck on the white HTC screen and have been for the last hour. Any help would be great, cheers.
did u do nandriod back up first

I backed up the stock firmware I already had manually, before it prompted on the flash.
did you do a full wipe before flashing the rom?
No i didn't, thought it would be safer incase something went wrong?
run your restore then I couldn't get it to work either
Sent from my Archos5 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
if you did a nandroid backup of your stock rom then you should be fine to wipe, since you did not wipe and flashed the new rom over your stock rom, apps and settings will conflict, therefore not work...
Right I see, I'm currently going through what I'm guessing is the restore....recovery - Nandroid, I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks again.
Nope I seem to be getting nowhere here, can someone point me in the direction of the restore?
you didn't do nandroid backup did you haha, you'll have to install an RUU file to return to stock rom, or just do a full wipe and flash a new rom like openfire or wildpuzzle.
Where can I find the RUU file and how do I access my SD card? USB won't let me get to it, I'm guessing the phone is in charge mode?
go into recovery - partitons menu - mount sd card (or somthing like that) to open your memory card
Spot on, I'm on downloading an ruu file now, going to load it up with a stock rom then try flashing it again, but wiping it this time.
Infact how do I do a full wipe? I'm after the easiest way to get the phone booting up so I can flash it properly?
Anyone?
I'm still no further than I was three hours ago!
EDIT:
BREAKTHROUGH!!! =D
Restored it to before I flashed it incorrectly. Nearly threw the phone across the room in excitement.
go into clockwork recovery and click the title "wipe data/factory reset" and then flash the ROM you want to use.. to install a ROM:
- "install zip from sdcard"
- "Choose zip from sdcard"
- "click the zipfile"
- "yes"
- "reboot"
and if you want to install RUU dont ask me never done that

From the HBOOT screen go to recovery, then nandroid, restore, and to the appropriate time/date.
I've still had no luck with actually flashing the phone though. Back to Android 2.1 for me.
I'm 99% percent sure you have the OC issue some ppl incl myself on here have - try reinstalling openfire if thats what you wanna use - and then go to wildpuzzle thread - dl 0050 and flash it. If i'm correct phone will be fine and use openfire - but will NOT be overclockable. I wish Jacob had my phone or got hold of a phone w that problem...
I had problems with the Wildpuzzle 8.0.11 ROM, it would just sit there (did a ADB logcat on it, but I've lost the actual log... sorry! ) ignoring a duplicate entry (yeah, I did a full wipe . Removed WP and put on the latest OpenFire ROM... omg... what a difference to the stock ROM! Soooo much faster, even before I overclocked it.
I'd say, if you have boot issues with WP give OpenFire a go. Certainly worked a treat on my Wildfire.

[Q] Rooted Wildfire won't go past bootscreen.

Hello all, new to the site so I hope I haven't posted this in the wrong place.
I used Unrevoked on my Wildfire yesterday, got it rooted and did a backup using titanium. So far so good.
Downloaded: 0001_WildPuzzleROM_v8.0.11.zip and threw it on the SD card.
Did the sound-down button + power / recovery / install zip from sdc / found my new rom, installed the thing without errors and booted it.
But now it won't go past the HTC bootscreen?
I have to take the battery out, it just hangs at the bootscreen.
I then thougt "oh happy days, I'll just do the recovery and then load the backup I took by using titanium.
same story..
I am doing something wrong but now after using 4 hours on google I've found about 60 different solutions and I'm none the wiser.

Did you do a full wipe before you flashed...? Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache.
Uhm.. no.
I thought the "wipe data+settings+cache" would also clear out my SD card (where my rom is)?
So to proceed from here, the next order of business I'll be doing is:
wipe data+settings+cache and THEN load the puzzle.zip onto the WF, correct?
No a full wipe only clears out phone memory. Do a search beforehand.
And the rom gets installed to your phone memory not sd card.
1. Do a full wipe.
2. Go to install zip from sd card
3. Select rom and flash it.
firstly, it may take somewhere in the line of 5 to 10 minutes on first boot after flashing a new rom. Make sure you waited enough.
After waiting more than 15 minutes, read this:
I was a happy flashing bastard until I also got the bootloop, after doing a restore.
I then put on my wizard hat and pull out the SD card, slap onto it the last rom I knew it worked (openfire in my case).
After the first boot I connect the phone to the pc, I download a shipped rom from http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buzz/ ( I downloaded the last one, http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...3.55.24H_3.35.19.25_release_151892_signed.exe in my case )
I launch the flash utility, and watch as my wildfire turns stock, unrooted, once more.
Some recommend doing this before installing any custom rom. This and a full wipe of the sd card.
But not me. It would make the rom flashing rather time consuming.
Enjoy!
I owe you guys an update (winterparty came in the way (or actually not, I was the geek sitting in the corner fumbling with my phone ))
Anyways, I did a full data/setting/cache wipe, ran the puzzle.zip and voila.
It's now been running for 28H and is still doing great.
Angry birds is a little bit better (joy!).
The whole feel around the new sw is such an improvement.
Thanks for all your help and I'll bookmark that "return to stock" link at once. Thanks again!

[Q] nFINITY 1.18 KEEPS REBOOTING

Okay, ive sucessfully installed nFinityROM onto my HTC Tattoo.
I then went to install the google apps zips
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=796696
Installed in CWMod recovery.
Boots:
Tattoo Screen
Android Screen
Get to the set-up screens and then no-jokes here, after about 10 seconds - everything locks up and automatic reboot.
Im stuck on a constant loop!
(so far ive only formatted cache
EDIT: Also tried wiping everything, and re-installing both zip's - still stuck on this reboot )
Any Ideas?
GApps 20101020?
did you re-flash it?
i would maybe try to flash an other custom rom and than flash your first again using these steps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767049
download the newest gapps, than download in this link" market-patch-v1.zip an
market-patch-v2.zip"
wipe cache and data
flash custom rom
flash the zip file gapps
flash market-patch-v1
flash market -patch-v2
and reboot.
so.flash first an other rom to overwrite the "sytsem"or whatever where the error is and than use this steps from above for your rom that reboot all the time.hope it will work.
(if your rom has market patch included than you can leave these 2 steps out(flashing marketpatch 1 and 2))

Cyanogenmod 7, no longer booting :(

Hi Guys,
I'm posting here because with less than 10 posts I am not allowed to post in other forums (I hope it's the right one).
I have just followed the procedure for the installation of Cyanogenmod 7 RC 1 on my Tattoo (using ClockWorkMod) but now the phone is stuck on the Tattoo logo.
I also tried to reinstall a backup with the original rom, but after the tattoo logo the phone gets stuck with the HTC logo.
Any idea? How can I fix this issue?
How much time do you expect? Installing the firmware may take a long time. Wait 30 minutes, and preferably one o'clock
Did you managed to boot into CM7 ?
If yes try to reformat your SD card and reflash with full wipe etc
Avoid doing the back-up..I assumed you had been on 1.6 or etc..
Please advise....As for the stuck at boot...do a hard reset let it load on stock rom and repeat the entire process.
..........I will be around in the next five hours......
Naah.. 30minutes is way too much to wait..
did u try wiping cache/dalvik cache and factory reset?
btw, i need also 10 posts
Sometimes it happens to me also. Then I download ROM again, boot into clockworkmod and flash it again. Wipe is needed. After flash new rom, booting is at least twice time longer, than normal boot.
