Have any of you guys out there had video calling running on the exec? did you have any problems? i can not seem to make or recieve any.......trying do to through cross networks tho...vodaphone and 3....but it never works
I use a JJ on Vodafone 3G and I have managed to call my brother on "3". It works well but you do need a good UMTS signal otherwise there is a delay in transmission.
The Vodafone 3G system does know the difference between a 3G and non-3G phone number as well. It will will fail if you try to call a non-3G mobile number using the video call button.
I've been using my XDA Exec on Vodafone 3G and Video calling also works well (have only tried calling '3' network).
But it works even when the phone signal is just the antenna (no bars).
Do your calls just fail straight away, or do they ring for a bit then fail?
(The first time I tried, my calls would fail immediately after pressing the video call button.
It seemed that I needed to have a Video Calling provision on my account, nothing a quick call to customer support couldn't fix)

Nisha1, I'm not sure I understand you. Are you asking about how to make video calls? OR How to use camera and How to make a 3G call?
Mike
Sounds like he wants to make a video call... not possible on Cingular's network. The camera is for pictures/personal video taking only.
Not only is it not available on Cingular's network, the camera isn't even on the 8525, so there's nothing you can do about that. You want 3G calling, get a TyTN.
Then why its says that this phone is 3G phone ? pls check the cingular site

3G is high-speed data, and has nothing to do with video calling.
Directly from cingular:
The 3G (third-generation) network is the latest in wireless technology from Cingular. It gives you high-speed access to email, the Internet, and video clips, making your phone more like a PC.
...
The Cingular 3G network uses HSDPA/UMTS technology (High Speed Downlink Packet Access/Universal Mobile Telephone System), which makes it possible to enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless services. It also gives Cingular the advantage of offering simultaneous voice and data services.
Hello,
I have a DOPOD D810 and using with Vodafone-SP. When I have the 3G on the calls least about 11 seconds (sometimes 9 seconds) and without 3G (the old GPRS) the phone calls work perfectly.
Anyone had the same problem or know why it's happening?
sometimes, when iam connected with pc (usb) and share internet connection to it. i dont try it with gprs.
but when i have 3g connection without pc, works perfect
Is HSDPA in your region? Because i think i have read some posts where the HSDPA implementation makes that problem. Just turn off HSDPA support and see if its ok.
i dont know, but icons switching between 3g and H
i'm having the same problem too. The calls will drop in less than 10secs in 3G mode but with normal calls. Checked with the network provider and the Dopod HQ. Network provide says it could be the hardware problem and the Dopod HQ says it could be the network problem.... this is making me sick. And some Expert says this is normal to PDA's 3.5G phone.
Basically I can say that depends of the cell, I mean, sometimes 3G calls works fine and sometimes not, usually the ones who doesn't work fine are in different 3G cell (becasue I'm in different location).
So, can be both, a network problem (some software or hardware in the cell antena) and the phone (who don't 'talk' with the cell properly).
I search and a lot of spanish Vodafone users (Trinity) have the same problem.
just noticed that after softreset the 3G signal becomes perfect and calls signal will stay strong. But after i awhile without making calls out or incoming calls. Then the nightmare happens again. Checked with the Dopod hardware HQ, they says if the 3G signals drops then the GSM will drops too. So, it couldn't be the hardware unit problem.
Hey guys, so ive been using my hd2 and its great but for some strange reason my 3g doesnt work when i make a phone call. When i am on a phone call i try to use the internet and it doesnt connect it shows full bars but with a telephone symbol. When i am not on a phone call my 3g works fine.
