[Q] Touchscreen strange behavior, 1,5cm offset - Touch HD General

Since two days I have strange behavior of my Blackstone touchscreen.
Just after start (or reboot) it works correctly but after few minutes when I hit for example start button it actually point about 1,5cm upper. So all touches has offset and hits not in the correct place like this:
Hit spot

Touched place
If I mange to go setup->screen->Align screen it's fine for a while and again after few minutes it's happen again.
ROM is Energy.BLACKSTONE.23149.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Dec.01
Do anyone have the same issue?
It's more software or hardware problem?

At least yours still works... I also got problems with touch offset and decided to change the digitizer... but broke the lcd screen during the operation...
My device was acting just like yours: after screen alignment it worked for couple minutes then just went crazy... unfortunately, it's a hardware problem (problems between the first and the 2nd layer of the digitizer).
To align the screen more convenient just do this at any moment (with the phone switched on):
Press VOL UP and VOL DOWN simultaneously and while keeping them pressed, lightly touch the screen. This will surprisingly initiate the screen alignment procedure.

Hard reset?

Wizard Touch screen

hi wonder if someone can help.
We have a wizard and two days ago the touch screen stopped working.
If i leave the phone for a 10 or 20 minutes the tough screen works for a couple of minites then it stops again. It will highlight your last selection for example it you tap ok it will highlight it but not action the comand.
is it time to call it a day with this or do you have any ideas how to fix.
I have the same problem,
does your select button (or enter on the keypad) do the action of a tap and hold (right click/ menu) while the device is exerting these symptoms.
Have you tried hard reset?
I may have stumbled on a fix, and without ripping your precious device apart.
Take an electronic device case opener(a blue tool with a blade thin plastic edge) and runn it along the edges of your screen under the lip to remove rouge particles. It helped my align the screen and work the device.
If someone can confirm this that would be great!
fingers crossed but that seems to have fixed it
will try a few days and let you know

Quite serius alignment problem

Hi,
I'm having trouble with my dual lately.
Seems like my screen alignment has gone crazy, i cant tap the start bar anymore, it thinks im tapping richt beneath it, also when i press anywhere in the right side of the screen, i always tap on the lower right softkey, even when pressing on the 'x' button (this is not on the left side, tough). Only when i hold my finger down for about 5 secs, the touchscreen finally notices and then the alignment is a bit more normal (cube opens because of shifting the pressurezone) but still it is off.
It's kinda weird but it acts like the touchscreen is a 'startbar' smaller than the actual screen, since the alignment in the bottom is ok, but at the top it isn't.
I tried re-aligning about 20 times, but it only helped me for a few taps, and i dont want to align it anytime i have to tap on start or x ;( (i also tried hard-resetting)
Anyone know a solution??
I dont really wanna miss my dual for 2 weeks sending it for repair
Thanks in advance!
had a similar issue with mine before. had no choice but to have it sent in as it was a hardware issue with mine.

Has anyone solved front buttons not responding problem?

Hello, I have had this TYTN I for a long time without any major problems. It was originally with WM5 but then I upgraded to WM6. Lately I had a strange problem whereby the front buttons stop responding intermittently.
The below mentioned buttons stop working:
1. The Internet Explorer button.(Above on the right)
2. The Message button.(Above on the left)
3. The Call buttons. (The call picking and disconnecting button, below left and right) And the 4 keys along it.
During this time I have to resort to the pointer or the side wheel to use the phone, which is very frustrating.
If I press the reset button at the bottom, the keys work again for a few times, then stop to respond again.
I have tried to flash again with both WM5 and WM6 but did not help. I have opened the phone and reseated all connectors but did not help either. Do you think I should try replacing the ribbon cable?
I have searched the forum and found several threads with the same problem, but never a solution.
Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.
I have been struggling the last few months with the same exact problem. Sometimes the buttons work other times they don't, and in the last couple of weeks the frequency of button failure has increased (every couple of minutes).
I found a few users yesterday over on the HTC forum who were having the same problem and 1 user who actually reported a fix that worked for him.
Go to Start/Settings/System/Key Lock and select "Do Not Lock Buttons". Exit Key Lock and soft reset your device. You may know return to the Key Lock options and re-select your choice (I used "Lock all buttons except Power button").
Worked for the HTC user and is working for me as I have had no button failure now in the last 24-hours with repeated use of the device.
I hope this works for you because if you are like me I getting very close to trashing the unit.
Hi,
the problem could be the Xilinx chip (a BGA chip) on the pcb underneath the buttons.
As the buttons are pressed the board is flexed and some of the solder pads under the xilinx chip must have become detached from the xilinx chip itself.
I had the white screen problem. An while i got the white screen the front buttons where not working too.
In the whte screen threat i found that it could be the Xilinx chip, and figured out when pressing on this chip the white screen was gone and the buttons where working.
So i resoldered (refloated) the chip with a heatgun and some liquid flux last Sunday and since then i had no problems anymore.
I would suggest disassembling the phone down to the pcb and try starting it on with the ribboncables connected while keep some pressure on the Xilinx chip. And then trying the buttons if they work.

I have the same problem with the same phone. The instructions above for "key lock" didn't fix it for me. I was assuming that it was hardware; but I just tried installing the Android port for this phone and under Android the buttons work fine.
I know that Android has some good stuff going for it, but I don't think it's awesome enough to circumvent a bad circuit... How exactly do these buttons work? Is there a process that should be running to handle them? Any other pointers?

[Q] Touchscreen works only until screen is turned off for first time

Hello all,
I have a problem with my HD2's touchscreen. I've had the phone for awhile now and never had any problems. I've been using android from Sd for awhie and recently switched to NAND android.
I go to bed with a working phone and when I wake up, the touchscreen doesn't work. After trying to use it all day, it occasionly works. When I receive a call or text, the screen works just fine. I am abe to use it until the screen turns off then no more. This happens for each call or text. It also works just fine at first boot(until the screen is turned off.
Thinking that this was a software problem, I tried flashing different android builds, with the EXACT same results. I then wondered if it was a problem with MAGLDER, so I flashed back to a STOCK TMOUS rom, and stock SP, radio etc.
Even after going back to COMPLETELY stock, it now does the same thing in WINMO. Works just find at first boot until screen goes off, and works when I get calls and texts.
I'm now thinking that this is a hardware/digitizer problem, it just seems weird to me that it works 100% until the screen goes off and then not at all.
Anybody have any idea's or insights?
Thanks!
i've read a few similar threads (please search for them!) that indicate one possible cause...
your buttons strips at the bottom may be messing with the touch screen connections. i remember reading in one thread that the dude found a strong relationship between use of the on/off/endcall button and touchscreen failures.
you say it works...:
1. ...until the screen powers off
2. also works when you get an sms or call
in case (1), you have to press the endcall button to "wake" the device...so maybe the button puts just enough pressure to screw up the screen.
in case (2), the device wakes up automatically, so you never pressed the button that might cause the screen to screw up.
try to narrow it down like i've described. maybe your buttons are causing the problem. good luck!
Thanks for replying!
I did see the thread you were talking about though it did not seem to match my problems. However, today as I was working and pulling my phone out, It has started to look like that is the case. As of this afternoon, as long as I press any of the buttons other then the power/end call button to turn on the screen, the tuchscreen works just fine. When waking up the screen with the power/end call button, it does not work at all.
Yesterday and this morning, it didn't matter what button I pushed to wake up the screen, it was totally unresponsive.
So it looks like using the power/end cal button presses on my digitizer and causes problems.
And it's back to not working at all when I use any of the buttons, lol. Guess it's time to start looking into a new digitizer.

Touchscreen either stops responding or doesn't touch where I'm actually touching

So today I just started having this issue out of the blue. Sometimes the touchscreen and the capacitive buttons stop responding and most times when I touch a part of the screen it shows me as touching another part of it.
If I lock the phone then unlock with the power button, it'll be fine for a bit then happen again.
Is this issue known and is there a fix for it?
