Does anyone know a way I can unlock the bootloader or unroot the phone without using the power button?
I can get into android recovery but cant select any of the options because I have no power button.
I managed to get into fastboot with the Toolkit and I was trying to get my phone back to stock to warranty it. I wasn't thinking and re-locked the bootloader before unrooting the phone. Now I can't "undo" that because of the phone prompts to choose yes or no when unlocking the bootloader.
I am looking for a way to unroot a phone with a locked bootloader or a way to unlock the bootloader while bypassing the yes/no screen.
I found a solution but it was for the galaxy nexus using a hex editor and I wasn't going to mess with that unless it was specifically for the nexus 4.
Any help is appreciated.
I have tried many Lockscreen apps from Play Store (Slidelock, Echo etc) and they all have 1 problem. After restarting the phone, it doesn't lock and doesn't ask for the pattern so I can unlock it. After the boot, I have to press the Power button so the lockscreen will work.
I didn't have that problem with the stock-lockscreen. With the stock lockscreen (I have S4, Lollipop, non-root), after restarting the phone, lockscreen immediately locks the phone and asks for password/pattern but with Slidelock & Echo, it bypass it at boot and will only work after pressing the Power button from the phone.
Any solution? Or that's a general problem that non-stock lockscreens have?
P.S. I gave administrator permission for the lockscreen apps.
So is there a way to quick pin unlock right now (i.e. dont need to hit enter key) or do we have to just wait for xposed to come out for mm?
So, I accidentally pressed OEM unlocking to off. I have one question, do I have to unlock it again via fastboot or is it okay to just press the same button to "on" mode again. And yes I have unlocked it once via fastboot.
Left this here just to make sure.
Thanks for everyone!
You're fine, if the bootloader is already unlocked that toggle will do nothing, in fact many times after unlocking the bootloader the toggle will be grayed out since it serves no purpose once the bootloader is unlocked. The switch by itself will not lock or unlock the bootloader, it's just a security measure.
The default off setting prevents someone, for example someone who stole your phone who can't access the OS when you have a pin/password to be able to unlock the bootloader thus being able to wipe the phone and being able to claim it as their own.
