Ok here is a simple guide on rooting and upgrading your rogers dell streak with the official roms
IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS YADA YADA YADA
THIS IS NOT A COMPREHENSIVE HOW TO FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE NEVER ROOTED OR FLASHED A DEVICE , MORE TO POINT USERS OF LOCKED ROGERS STREAKS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION , AND TO SUPPLY THEM WITH THE ROMS AND RECOVERY THAT WORKED FOR ME
ALSO IT IS RECOMMENDED BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT THIS YOU LOAD CLOCKWORK RECOVERY THROUGH FASTBOOT , AND DO A NANDROID BACK UP ,THEN GO BACK TO STOCK RECOVERY BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT THIS, BUT IT IS NOT NESSECARY
THE CLOCK WORK THAT WORKED FOR ME WAS THE 1.8.1.7 VERSION INCLUDED IN HERE
/SIZE]
CLOCKWORK RECOVERY THAT WORKED ON ROGERS BUILD http://www.zshare.net/download/8340237894835c1d
Step - 1
Download universal androot(from link below)then place on your sd card then install the apk with apps installer from market. Once installed run the app, click root and your rooted .
UniversalAndroot_1.6.1.apk - 0.32MB
Step - 2
Download 02's 1.6 build 4399 (From link below),rename to update.pkg, then place on root of sdcard ,turn off phone ,power phone into recovery by holding power button and both volume buttons at same time. Now you should be at recovery screen ,select option 2 , you can navigate with volume buttons and make selection with camera button ,you will now be presented with a warning screen telling you to press the camera button to install update package ,press camera button, let it install , wait for the dell logo ,wait , wait , wait , wait you are now on build 4399 wich is 02's 1.6 build
BUILD 4399 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6KBABM67
Step - 3
Download 02's 2.1 build 8105 (From link below),again rename it to update.pkg ,place on root of your sdcard ,turn off phone ,power into recovery and install same as previous build , when install is done dell logo will appear , wait , wait ,wait ,wait ,wait , you are now on build 8105 wich is 02's 2.1 build
BUILD 8105 - is on this page over at modaco http://android.modaco.com/content/d...2-1-downloads-how-tos-rom-superboot-recovery/
YOU MAY HAVE TO RUN UNIVERSAL ANDROOT AGAIN TO GAIN 2.1 SUPERUSER PERMISSION , THIS IS WHAT I HAD TO DO , BUT ITS ONLY ONE CLICK
voila you are now on 02' stock 2.1 on your rogers streak
if you have read this and have no clue , then take a look at the threads below they are more comprehensive

here is a nice tutorial for rogers streak :
http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/dellstreak22
and then u can use z4root found on marketplace for permanent or temperary root
I've installed O2 2.1 build 8105 on Rogers Dell using the guide in the first post and right now it seems like I dont have 3g conection any more. Also stock browser redirects me to Sisco login page evry time I'm trying to open any webpage and ask me to input guest password. Does anybody know how to solve this issues? Maybe I need to setup 3g settings manualy or it should be done automatically anyway?
Thanks for your help

On this step I get an error that says "cant find /MISC" and it just sits there.
Now I have flashing leds from my earlier rooting with super boot. does anyone have a stock rogers image I can use? I tried a factory reset but still the leds flash :/
Thanks for the write up !
removed link in my post as it said I couldnt have links :/
When I try running the update to move from Rogers 1.6 to the O2 version of 1.6 it says software already up to date. Then it reboots without installing. Do you know a way to get around this?
Sorry, it was a silly mistake. I tried to update like a regular update package instead of getting clockwork working.
fastboot boot problem
I have a stock Rogers Dell Streak.
I want to fastboot boot the clockwork recovery and nandroid my current setup. Then I want do a factory restore and nandroid that after booting the clockwork recovery.
I follow the guide "What you need to know about the Dell Streak - PDF"
at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=776883&page=2
I used this is to get into fastboot mode and how to use fastboot.exe
I put the files with the recovery in c:\streak
I also have previously installed the android sdk for my HTC Dream.
So the results below show my problem. I can`t get it to boot the recovery.
The laptop is a Toshiba T135 Windows 7 32 bit.

The "What you need to know about your streak" guide says you should type :
fastboot.exe -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery-clockwork-streak.img
I don't know what the "boot" option would be used for.
boot
I want to boot the clockwork recovery without actually flashing it.
Then I want to nandroid backup the phone as stock Rogers, in case I want to go back to it. Then I want to factory reset and then nandroid that.
This is what is referred to by the op.
I wonder if anyone has done this on Rogers 7921?
Well, are you sure, OP does not mention using fastboot with the boot option.
Then again, I'm a newb, I might be wrong.

i tried to flash 2.2 but i end up getting stuck in dell logo boot up screen. so i try to flash it back to stock 1.6 att rom i flash the stock recovery img first and put the stock 1.6 in my ms, but when i press the volume up and down + power and select option it just gave me a black screen with back light on.
please help im with out a phone right now ;[
also when i try to install djsteve 2.2 it just stays at 20% for around 30-40 sec and then it says completed
OK, I has similar problem but resolved now.
Here is what i did:
Download amss-2.1.mbn file (this is baseband 2.1, 2.2 is what you updated with amss.mbn and it doesnt work).
Put your streak into fastboot mode then select fastboot and plugin your usb cable to your phone and to your system.
Open command prompt on your system
Type in as like before 'fastboot -i 0x413 flash amss amss.mbn'
On completion type 'fastboot -i 0x413 reboot'
Press and hold Vol +/-.
And update Flash with Froyo 2.2 v1.0 (try update v1 or beta first but not v1.2) zip
Reboot
Give this a try.
where do i get v1? i came seem to find it any where. does v1.1.1 work? do i flash the nbm file before or after i flash the rom?
also im on 2.1 right now do i need to root it first?
okayy............
so i got v1.1.1 to work but, when i try to wipe and install 1.2 it got stuck in dell logo again. do i need to reflash the amss in bootloader?
Follow Steve instruction to the letter and all will be good.
Hello every body and sorry for my poor English !
I have root my phone some month ago by changing my recovery with flashrec 1.0
all work done, I can be root on my phone by press "su".
But there is an update now and I want my old recovery partition.
So I use flashrec and type "restore backup" but it tell me failed !
I restart the phone and try it again : and in 0,01 second flashrec tell me success and when I restart my phone in recovery mode I have a block screen with triangle next to phone icon and I can't do nothing else than remove the battery !
So I try to do :
Code:
adb shell reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery-backup-htc-hero.img
But it answered : "FAILED (remote: not allow)"
I try :
Code:
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-backup-htc-hero.img
But it answered : "mtd: read error at 0x00000000 (Out of memory)"
or nothing happens.
I have try :
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
But it answered : "FAILED (remote: not allow)"
Any idea for recover my recovery ?
Thanks or your answers.

The link is for root a phone ?!? no?
I just want to recover my recovery !
For flash my old recovery I do all it say in your URL apart the format of SD card, do you think it is important?
Moreover memory on my phone is 56m do you think it can be the problem ?
Can I saw my recovery partition on the file system?
Thanks at both of you for your rapid answered, I hope you will answered me again !
Is your phone is rooted ?
Code:
"mtd: read error at 0x00000000 (Out of memory)"
It needs rooted phone to run it ..
i 'd suggest root your phone -)
&
try this :-
Power on your hero while holding down the volume down button.
then:
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery - & filename of recovery in the pc
try flashing old Recovery of Amon_ra first . if it works than try latest one ..
If nothing comes on your way. than i would suggest use stock RUU & than try flashing Amon_Ra & See you can flash it from boot loader or not ?

Yes my phone is rooted : When the phone is on, I can become root by typing "su" and then an application ask me if I allow to become root.
So I have "Power on my hero while holding down the volume down button" and I see a green check list during a second and after I see in blue HBOOT.
So I have try to do on my computer "fastboot erase recovery" but my prompt say me
Code:
C:\Windows\System32>fastboot erase recovery
erasing 'recovery'...
and it never do anythinks !
So if I press back on the Hero I can see :
Code:
C:\Windows\System32>fastboot erase recovery
erasing 'recovery'... FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
finished. total time: 78.280s
An idea?
I'm totally out of ideas...
you are not using the standard data cable that comes with the htc hero? status read failed (Too many links)) error comes when you are not using standard data cable that comes with the htc hero..
Make sure your adb tools working correctly..

Hi everyone,
I'm owning A TF300TG model and I recently tried to flash one of the ROMS referrenced on those forums and by doing so I found out that my tablet had lost the 3G features so I had to flash back the Asus stock ROM to get it back.
Since I saw many of you got trouble reinstalling the stock ROM, I decided to write a quick guide on how to do it so everyone could get their tablet fully working again
Note: For the record, when I did the following operations, I already had unlocked the bootloader and installed the CWM recovery.
Disclaimer:
By following this guide, you will have to issue commands that risk to damage (aka. brick) your tablet or at least void your warranty. I won't be responsible for any damage made to your device. You've been warned.
Click to collapse
Download the stock ROM zip file on Asus website (current version is [WW | TW]_epaduser9_4_4_28_1UpdateLauncher.zip) for the TF300TG tablet. Be sure to download the firmware matching your SKU.
Unzip the downloaded file, you will get another archive called , unzip this one too
You should end up with several file, with one of them called blob
For the next step, you will need to install the Android SDK to get the fastboot utility. If you do not know how to use fastboot, you should take a look at this guide.
Once you have installed fastboot, boot your tablet into fastboot mode (Plugin your tablet on your computer's USB, Hold down Power+VolDown, dont press VolUp when prompted, select the USB icon and press VolUp)
Open a command line terminal and navigate to the folder containing the blob file.
Then type the following command:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system blob
Click to collapse
For some reason, the transfer seems to fail from time to time, if so, just try again by going back to previous step.
Once the transfer is done and you get that sweet "SUCCESS" printed on your screen, just type the following command to reboot your tablet:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot
Click to collapse
And there you have ! You are now back to stock ROM with fully working 3G
Thanks a lot for this, I found these instructions on Wolf's thread but wasnt sure it would work with our devices, Thanks for taking the first big step.
Questions.
1. Does this wipe your data?
2. Does CWM still work after?
AFAIK, this will wipe your data, remove CWM and uninstall root. Your device's bootloader will still stay unlocked though.
You will have to flash CWM back using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668173
Hi, followed the steps but it didnt work for me
Fastboot copies the file but after when it tries to flash it gives an error
sending 'system' (796653 KB)...
OKAY [137.443s]
writing 'system'...
FAILED (remote: ()
finished. total time: 138.477s
The Tab shows
Failed to process command flash:system error(0x170003)
The progress bar is showing under the USB logo with 1% blue, after hold power down I'm back into Onyx Rom
Any Thoughts?
I had the same problem and I just issued the same command a second time and it worked just fine
Try to format your /system (under the mounts and storage option) from CWM and wipe data and cache.
2nd time a charm!
Worked fine the second time i ran the command,
Im back to stock again :good:
I will wait for a 3G friendly Rom before flashing again
Thanks for your help

Thanks a million. This worked for me as well after 2 tries. Saved my $400!
Thanks heaps for this
I ended up in trouble when I flashed the TF300T firmware by mistake. It kept freezing and rebooting on me after that little stuff up.
Anyhow before I did that I made a backup with CWM, and after I restored it my 3G was gone but everything else worked fine.
Manual updates were failed though and they still do. At least I have my 3G back :victory:
So this method would probably work for upgrading to .40 as well, but it means a complete datawipe!
I'm sure there are many of us in the same boat now. I guess we will just have to wait and hope that some kind person makes a recovery image for the TF300TG?

is a tad wrong. It works, but only by accident.
You should be using
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash staging blob
Click to collapse
The technical reason for why your command works, is because the nvidia bootloader writes files to the staging area before writing it to the partition you specify.
What essentially happens is:
Blob is written to staging
Blob is copied to system (meaning non-booting system)
On reboot, blob is "extracted" from staging and properly flashed.
Step 3 is what makes it work in the end, but you are causing an extra unneeded write to the flash (step 2 is not really needed) (In this case it works, but it potentially increases the risk of bricking)
thx didn´t know that. So all the howto´s are wrong

Your probably running Jellybean, if so this HOWTO does'nt work.
Question: What exactly is supposed to happen? First I tried it and got the fail and did it a second time and it seemingly worked. In my command prompt it ended with
"writing 'system' ... OKAY"
and wasn't doing anything after that in the command prompt and on the tablet there was a full status bar so it looked like whatever it was doing it was finished? So I held the power button and I think it was a boot loop ... it just was the ASUS screen with the spinning circle. So I just did it again, failed the first time did it again and now I am where I left off. I guess I will wait a while and see if it says "SUCCESS" on my tablet? And if not I will put in the reboot command? (I probably should have tried that last time instead of holding the power button I forgot about the last couple lines of the guide )
EDIT: Or is it cuz I am flashing the wrong SKU? I didn't know what one my tablet is supposed to be ... its a cyanogenmod build so I don't think I cant find what the SKU is supposed to be. I went with US SKU because I live in the United States but I don't know if that's what it is
EDIT2: After waiting a while with no "SUCCESS" Windows said that adb.exe crashed or something. So I put in the reboot command but now it seems to be stuck on the ASUS loading screen again.

I have a WW TF300T and had no problem flashing a US version.. so its no SKU problem how long did you wait on the ASUS screen with the spinning circle? It took up to 5 mins for me! just wait a lil bit longer next time.. And there comes no "SUCCESS" on the tablet! only a blue bar that should be full after SUCCESS comes up in your Fastboot-COMMANDLINE.. the reboot with the fastboot reboot command from the first page..just give your tab a bit more time.. its like a babe. handle it with care :silly:
Success!
Hazaa! I can confirm that I managed to flash back to stock by flashing the blob to the staging partition. Like so many other, the first flash failed but the second time worked. I now have working 3G again!

Thanks for the reply 0nyx7!
I had waited a while, maybe 10-20 minutes? But I don't remember entirely. I tried flashing the stock firmware a few times but eventually I just gave up. I didn't like the possibility that my tablet was bricked so I just aborted mission and decided to go back to cm10 where it was safe. I just looked up a post on how to flash Clockworkmod Recovery with fasboot and then flashed a cm10 nightly I already had on my internal storage. So all is good... Mostly.
So, this is my first attempt at rooting a device and so far it's gone pretty well despite several hiccups along the way. My current problem is the inability to boot into a custom recovery. I'm running the stock 4.4.2 ROM, have root access per towelroot, have SU installed and updated from SuperSU, and have unlocked the boot loader via the motopocalypse exploit in it's .apk format. Booting into fastboot, I am able to verify I have unlocked the boot loader (Status Code 3.) Now, I have several custom recovery files downloaded and have attempted, including ClockWork Mod offical touch and non, and unofficial versions of TeamWin Recovery Project. All four of these yield the same results, namely, I cannot access them.
The steps I preform are:
(1. Turn the device off
(2. Boot into AP fastboot by holding down the volume + and - buttons, turning on the device, and selecting AP Fastboot as prompted
(3. Run the command "fastboot flash recovery <filename>.img"
(4. Have the following returned:
> sending 'recovery' (8228 KB)...
> OKAY [ 0.640s]
> writing 'recovery'...
> OKAY [ 2.180s]
> finished. total time: 2.820s
(5. Run the command "fastboot boot <filename.img>"
(6. Have the following returned:
> downloading 'boot.img'...
> OKAY [ 0.640s]
> booting...
> Command restricted
> FAILED (remote failure)
> finished. total time: 0.730s
(7. Run the command: "fastboot continue" to regain access to my phone
Also, when I boot into the boot selector and select the recovery option, it will show the "Warning, your warranty is void" prompt, flicker, then show the prompt again, which I presumed to be the phone flashing back the stock recovery, which I hadn't had previous success accessing fully either, and then continue to boot normally. Because of that, I used RootBrowser on my device and proceeded to move the "recovery-from-boot.p" file from it's /system home to /storage/emulated/0/Download in the case that I needed it again in the future.
Moving said ".p" file yielded no different result in the aforementioned fastboot commands. However, when I boot into recovery on the device itself via the boot selector, it will hang (let it run for five minutes at one point) at the "Warranty Void" screen, then restart into AP Fastboot after holding the power button, at which point I am unable to turn on the device and need to run the "fastboot continue" command to be able to access my device again. I will also need to run said command every time I want to restart my phone.
Copying said ".p" file back caused the device to again hang at the "Warning: Bootloader Unlocked" screen before I held down the power button which cause it to run AP Fastboot, at which point I could run the "fastboot continue" command and access my phone again.
Suffice to say I'm in a bit of a pickle and am a little lost as to how to get myself out of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The recoveries you should be using are here( TWRP for kitkat second from the bottom works the best) you can either fastboot flash or use rashr/ flashify available on the play store...

I used the TWRP2710-RAZR_M-KITKAT.img and used the Fastboot command to flash it. My phone still isn't liking fastboot commands except for a few, but rebooting into recovery from the boot selector menu now works like a charm. Thank you!

So, now I have the TeamWin Recovery Project functioning, however now I'm unable to flash any ROM. I've wiped the whole device using the advanced wipe feature, attempted to flash an official version of Cyanogen mod (namely 10.2-something,) and an official version of PacMan Rom. Both give me a failed error message whenever I try to flash them. I've just downloaded a fresh nightly from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735565 from 25.08.2014 and I'm going to see if that does the trick. If that doesn't work, much as I'm anticipating, do you have any suggestions? (Also, would I be better off starting a new thread as this is pretty much a secondary issue?)
- J
Never mind! I was actually able to have a friend show me how to properly wipe a device before flashing a custom ROM and now it's functioning properly. Thank you again for your help!
In case someone else has this issue, how I wiped was first a Factory Data Reset, then an advanced wipe for the Cache and the Dalvic, then flashed the ROM and GAPPS, then wiped the Cache/Dalvic again, then actually rebooted the system and it started right into Cyanogen mod.
Yep, I tend to wipe each one(FDR & system+dalvic+cache) 3 times tho I don't think that's really necessary I just wanna be sure it got it all... Happy you got it all working

Just delete this if it's considered in the wrong place. If and when is the the Stylo 2 Plus getting its own forum and has anyone come up with an exploit for rooting this phone yet?
Hiya
Yes this is the wrong place. This is for the g stylo not the stylo 2 plus as can be seen in the name of the forum.
No there is not an exploit yet. Kingroot, kangoroot, one clove root, etc all do not work yet. Soon i would imagine
I even have trouble looking on the web for things because it seems we share a model number ms550 with the lg optimus m. Weird
You think my signature would say I probably know this. Granted, I haven't worked for them in a while, for XDA, even longer. I was talking to the mods of the forum, sorry, if I confused you.

Root recovery and boot loader unlock have been achieved on the Gsm Variants . you can find the link if you look for it .

I am new here and I have also googled and searched extensively about this problem with no success.
C:\Users\Darin\Downloads\twrp>fastboot boot recovery.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.566s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: 0.575s
I can't boot TWRP by command line or by recovery key sequence. I have flashed recovery with this TWRP image that I got directly from @messi2050 today, 1/18/2017. If I "adb reboot recovery", I get the Android crash screen - the android laying down, red triangle. My phone is a t-mobile stylo 2 plus K-550. I'm sure I followed every step in the process correctly. If there is another thread that addresses this problem, can you direct me to it please? I can't start my own thread because I'm too new, but the most relevant recent thread regarding this is locked. Yes I have rooted another phone before without a problem(Samsung). Thanks in advance for your help.

Fastboot said it flashed successfully. It copies the file, says it's ok. I would think if it didn't flash, it would fail the fastboot flash command. So is my phone jacked? I've read about how Android can rewrite the recovery partition as a security measure, or disable flashing by other means. Some kind of added security possibly?
Why would it say OK when I flash recovery, but NOT actually flash it?

It was something I found in another tutorial when I started trying other things, since the "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" was not getting me past the standard Android recovery. I'm about to try the file you sent me last night. I'll let you know the result.

Android version 6.0.1
Android security patch level 2016-08-01
Kernel version 3.18.20
Windows 7 Pro x64
The recovery.img you sent also said it flashed, but I got to the same Android factory reset screen after the key press procedure (volume down, power, release power, repress power, release all)
Here's the latest:
C:\Users\Darin\Downloads\platform-tools-latest-windows\platform-tools>fastboot f
lash recovery recovery.img
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (15518 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.495s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.362s]
finished. total time: 0.865s
Once you boot into recovery, let the screen fully dim, do not touch it... once the screen is completely blacked out, turn it back on and all touch features will be up and running... and don't mess with the adoptable storage feature..migrating data.. because TWRP will not recognise any data if you have this enabled.

Are you on the newest firmware for that phone?
If you are downgrade that could be a fix to lock down the recovery
I have successfully enabled usbotg on the LG Stylo 2 plus who wants to know how I did it? Usbhost mode..mount
Usb pendrive-
Mouse
Usb hub
Keyboard...etc
They say LG STYLO 2 PLUS DOES NOT SUPPORT OTG...LIES....LIES....THEY JUST DISABLED IT...WHY?...WELL..
FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO ENABLE FULL OTG SUPPORT
1-in root explorer go to:
-/sys/devices/soc/78db000.usb/power_supply/usb/usb_otg and edit from =0 to 1save
then-/sys/devices/soc/78db000.usb/dpdm_pulldown_enable edit disabled to enable.. plug in otg cable..

/sys/devices/soc/78db000.usb/power_supply/usb/ scroll to usb_otg and edit it from disabled to enable.
Then /sys/devices/soc/78db000.usb/dpdm_pulldown_enable edit it to enabled..
