Seems to be the end of the Universal for me now.. LCD cracked somehow .. Touch still working though...
But replacement screens is damn expensive.. Seen some go for 340 USD on ebay!!! and some for 78 usd which is still damn expensive
Anyone knows where i can get a cheaper replacment ?
Perhaps you can think on buy another Uni and cheaper, I saw in marketplace section someone selling a great shape Uni

Yes, I got the dreaded cracked screen after I dropped my device. Can someone tell me where I can buy another screen or a replacement one. I have been on EBay and that did not have any luck.

if its any of the xda's 1,2 or S, u can buy it from www.pdasmart.com . Efficent service and the cheapest ones as well.. but mate if its executive or jasjar..then u r screwed..cause i broke mine few days back..n i got a replacement from imate at a cost of $180.

ok today was a great day I found a place in US that will fix JasJars broken/cracked lLCD Screens. $250 = new screen and they install it.

I am not sure how much they are selling for, I am not even sure any of the couriers (Cigualar, Tmobile, Sprint) even have them on their radar to start selling them. I was one of the lucky ones at a Microsoft PDC and bought mine for $150. I can tell you after I broke my lcd I worked with IMATE for a repair and they wanted $200 for a new LCD, but they could not tell me what the labor charge would be and I would have to pay for shipping to and from United Arab Emerates which from the TNT shipping company looked to be $80 each way. So I saw $200 + Labor charge $50 to $100 + 80 + 80 = $410 or $460 and did not feel the device was worth that.
I did put in a "Want it now" search in EBay and everyone wanted $200 or more just for the LCD panel
My thought was I was having a heck of a time 3 weeks to even find anyone who would sell a LCD or fix the device themselves. I tried many places in UK and Canada with no luck. This place was in USA (so i could bug them easier on what was happen) and seems to have a good reputation on the web.

I destroyed my touchscreen. The LC-Display under is ok. It shows all without errors.
But i can't do something with the pen. The Vario doesn't recognize something.
I fall down and der is a fat break in all ways.
Where can i get cheap a new touchscreen, without the lcd?

i had the SAME issue. Actually, the OUTSIDE screen would cost u very little money, but I found it impossible 2 find 1.eventually I did, but some ribbon issue didn't let me use the lcd roperly.so I changed the LCD as well, (but kept mine, UNBROKEN one hoping to resell it). Total cost 70 pounds, not cheap but... I had found this anyway that might be in your best interest:

I think they charge 170 for the LCD and the GLASSTOP, and at least online they wouldn't sell it in spare parts.maybe try to give them a call...

anyway,
i recently broke my screen as well, went to o2(im from uk btw) and the person there told me it would roughly cost me 100 pounds (about 200usd) to get it fixed.
i have the universal for about 1 1/2 to 2 years now and im not sure if its worth getting it fixed. the batt is also rather dead as well.
i would like some input on this. would it be not cost effective to get it repaired or just sell it off with the broken screen?(if so roughly how much ill get for it?)

If you're in the UK I'd say take the phone to the Carphone warehouse it'll cost you 45 quid and take around 2 weeks but it's definitely worth every penny!

went to CPW justnow and they no longer do repairs on it.
called up o2 and they told me the charges would run about 160quid to 200 which is totally stupid.
guess my option now is to ebay it.
you can order the lcd on ebay for 100€. dont know what this is in pounds.
exchanging the lcd yourself is quite easy. there is a manual in the forums telling you how to do it. otherwise you could just sell your universal on ebay. i think max prize you can achieve is 120€.

Thanks. I talked to them earlier and my hdmi out doesnt work either so I asked the technician if they would replace the whole unit to fix the hdmi but he said I had to fix the screen first. I was hoping they would just replace it but, yea, $199.

I have a gateway notebook that decided it had enough of me.. IT Drank half a 12 oz class of beer.. With the Help of my Gorgeous Fluffy Persian Cat.. GRRRR.. Anyway it was only a few months old. I called them they said 199. flat rate service fee. But i lucked out and found a MB on ebay from Virginia for 75.00. The notebook is now nearly 3 years old and Still works like new .. MY SPOUDE Bonnie loves it. Its actually built better then my replacement for it.. HP DM1 Fuzion cpu.. THOU I DO LOVE THE BATTERY LIFE and video proformance of this hp Its just a bit bulky for a so called ultra portable notebook .

Hi! I just saw someone who wil sale a LG G2 with 100$, but the screen is broken and the touch does not really work anymore.

It's seem to be really damaged but I'd like to know if it's a good deal to buy the phone with 100$ and buy a new touchscreen and LCD display and repair it. I think it will cost me about 150-200$ the phone with the touchscreen and LCD. He will give me also the box with all accesories. In my country, a new LG G2 with warranty it's about 400$ so it's kinda a good deal, i guess. I'd like keep the phone and test it for a while and then maybe resell it or keep it for someone from my family. I want to know if it can be repaired easily and how much it will cost me a good touchscreen and display because i saw that you can buy them for 50$-100$ with shipping.
I think it's risky but..maybe not? Thank you.
