Some days ago I updated my XDA I to the current german ROM Version avaiable at O2online.de (it's 3.19.01 GER with radio v4.21), because I hoped that wmodem is included at that version. Unfortunately it wasn't, although it is included at an english version with a minor version number. As there were also some other disappointing things, I decided to write a letter to O2. Here's a part of their answer:
Das eigentliche Anliegen Ihres Schreibens ist die Modemfunktionalitaet des xda I. Die Ausstattung des Geraetes in England und Deutschland ergab sich aus den Ergebnissen diverser Umfragen. Diese zeigten eindeutig, dass eine Modemfunktionalitaet in Deutschland von den zukuenftigen Nutzern nicht priorisiert wurde. Im Verlauf der Zeit hat sich allerdings gezeigt, dassŸ auch diese Funktion genutzt wird. Daher verfuegt der xda II ueber die Modemfunktionalitaet. Ein Nachruesten des xda I ist leider nicht moeglich, da es zusaetzliche Hardwarekomponenten erfordern wuerde.
Der Service fuer den xda I wird natuerlich weitergefuehrt. Verschiedene Updates haben die Funktionalitaet bereits verbessert. Ein Update auf WIN CE 2003 ist ebenfalls noch in Planung. Evtl. wird es dann auch moeglich sein, den xda I als Modem zu nutzen.
Die Fax-Funktionalitaet wird wohl auch in naher Zukunft leider nicht gegeben sein. Bedingt durch bestimmte Netzeigenschaften (in unserem Falle die Homezone), funktioniert es nicht. Bisher ist es leider noch nicht gelungen, dieses Problem zu loesen.

I'll try to translate it into english:
As a poll in germany showed, that most users didn't ask for a modem feature at the XDA I (in opposite to british polls), it is not included at the XDA I. But by and by we got to know that such a feature is used and therefore now it is included at the XDA II. An upgrade for the XDA I is not possible as there are some hardware components missing.
The service for the XDA I will be continued as a matter of course. There have already been some upgrades and also an upgrade to WIN CE 2003 is still planned. Possibly one will therefore be able to use the XDA I as a modem.
A fax functionality will be not possible in a near future. It doesn't work due to some properties of the network (in that case it's the homezone-funktionality). By now it was not possible to solve that problem.

It's quite interesting, that some necessary hardware components are not necessary any more just by doing a software upgrade...

I currently have the Special edition rom for my T-mobile MDA (XDA-1), I have been using the WMODEM via a serial cable to my laptop for a long time, but now I would like to upgrade the firmware to PPC2003 from T-Mobile website, does the download from http://www.mathiaspohl.de/mda include WMODEm for PPC2003?

Yes. This ROMs includeeds the wmodem application.
But it´s a German ROM. So all is in German and nothing in english. It´s not possible to switch the language....

i gave my tablet to my cousin who said that he will enable proper arabic language nmanagement on my p1000 tablet which i bought from danmark, to discover later that he installed the original ÚAE rom, and without even backing up my original! i got a nordic rom from a swedish forum (although it appears to be german when u start it first time!), now KIES still says my firmware isn't supported by software update,, what can the problem be? is there a way to make it acceptable again by KIES?
and one more thingh: i have 2 weeks left on the garanti, so if i return it to the store will it be still supported or they'll say it's no longer so coz i installed another rom on board? coz my tablet is having problems with the battery and some other stuff.
Flash stock Rom . Make sure its for your device model
i asked for a stock nordic rom and got one from a swedish member, a stock 2.3 rom for gt-p1000 if that's what u mean, unless u mean subtypes?
also i googled my problem and found somebody with somewhat similar problem on another samsung device, and he was answered about the problem being probably lieing in changed (Hidswver), could this be also the problem with my device? and is there a solution for that?
Try on sammobile.com download stock rom from there and flash it with odin

You could also try it at teamovercome.net site...there you find also an excellent (in my opinion) guide how to flash gingerbread via odin. Perhaps you also want to go on and try overcome too ?

rodman01: i got the first rom (GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip) from the website teamovercom, (coz it's the same name for the rom i got earlier) and installed it via odin 1.7 , but still kies says that my tab's firmware dosn't support software update,,
update: i downloaded the rom from the website, installed it and it's the sme as the one i got, and the same problem stays with kies!

ok perhaps its better to try a version from sammobile, because there are the official firmwares.....perhaps you try one earlier version like frojo, because then you can be sure that there is definately an update available.....as far as i know the kies support for updates has also something to do with the CNC code and the build number of the rom....the last 3 letters of the versions are related to the country and the product ect.....i found some more informations in an other foorum but unfortunately its german....i will copy it here below, perhaps it helps...otherwise i can try to translate it as good as possible....:
"Kies sagt "Softwareaktualisierung über Kies werden von Ihrem Gerät nicht unterstützt:Aktuelle Firmware-Version: i9000XWJWI/I90000XXJVO/i9000XWJVI (KOR)"=KOR is for Korea and German Phones will not get an update....and
"10. Kontrolliert nach dem erfolgreichen flashen euren ProductCode durch Eingabe von *2767*4387264636# in die Telefontastatur! Sollte dieser mit DBT aufhören, ist alles gut, und ihr braucht NICHT mit Schritt 11 fortzufahren!

thanks rodman01 for these info, but unfortianetly they don't provide the option for the nordic region! i found option for UK, italy, germany, open europe (satrting with hungarin i assume), france and carefor UK! the problem is the same with all of them!

ODK is also a CSC code for Sweden. But the most common is NEE which stands for Nordic Countries and XEE which is Sweden.

No Gingerbread for Romania. Only Froyo 2.2. CSC: P1000OXFJM5 ,PDA: P1000XWJMK. But why do you want latest romanian firmware. You can use Gingerbread for another country like Italy, Poland, Germany etc. You will lost the romanian input keybord. (Diacriticele). That's all you will lost.

Kies and Kiesupdates are sometimes very tricky. If you google about your problem there are a lot of threads in the forums.
A couple of things could be checked. Do you have the latest Kies version, do you have the right Kiessettings related to your country and your sw buildnumber (CSC code), latest drivers are installed, and so on and so on.....(threads in the forums have many tips)
Also there exists a registry (Kies-) Hack with what some people solve their problem.....and then i am afraid ....its try and error till problem is solved....
btw whats your problem with your tab? Why do you want to get it repaired under warranty? Via Kies last update will be Gingerbread....further official firmawares will not follow...as far as i know.....
yes, i have latest KIES verion, and i even tried 2 older versions, all with the same result,, about CSC files i have no experience with it, can man change settings for it from kies? i see in thepiratbay some verions of kies with keygenerators, are these hacked KIES programmes? can they solve my problem?
my tab has had some problems for a couble of monthes now, for starters some times i leave in on charge for many hours and it dosn't charge, then i turn it off and it charges to 100%, i turn it on and after one hour of video i found it down to 20%, and then in no time to 3%! also some time force crashes... thought if garanti still on that one can benifit from the proffessional handling!

Jag fick det att fungera
Jag hade samma problem.
Det löste sig för mig när jag först flashade GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip
Gick in i recovery mode och Wipe user/factory reset.
Sedan flashade jag en zip från programmet CheckFusDownloader_v2.1, efter det så flashade jag om GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip igen, efter ytterligare en wipe user/factory reset.
I CheckFusDownloader_v2.1 väljer man bara: Android, GT-P1000 och Nordic countries - GT-P1000CWANEE
Laddar ner filen och flashar den med Odin3 1.85
Filen från CheckFusDownloader_v2.1 gör så att tangentbordet bara ger "Null" oavsett vad man skriver, men det har ingen betydelse när man inte behöver den i mer än en omstart.
Efter det så har jag tillbaka all info så att kies 2.0 fungerar fint igen.
Hi Guys I'm from Germany my story is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 lte SM-585N 32gb memory which after the firmware update (Odin Flash) only has 16gb memory.
I took the firmware from SM-T585 because I couldn't find any SM-T585N. Everything works perfectly but I miss the missing 16gb memory. I have no more idea what to do, maybe someone here can help me.
