Ok so I just bought the evo shift from sprint and its been working great. I have over 500 songs and lots of pictures et cetera and I've been playing them all the time. This morning however I tried to play some music and it says music not found. Same thing with pics and vids. Apps saved on the card are fine. If I use astro and select a pic or mp3 it will open and play. Just not from any music players or photo viewers. Any ideas?
Edit: also a new development. I forgot to mention that I have clockwork mod recovery installed. And it won't let me turn my phone off. I power off and it automatically boots to recovery. Quite irritating.
Also I should probably mention that I am running my shift stock. No custom roms. Only thing I've done is root it using amoamares gui root method and the only root app I have is cache cleaner ng.
1. Not sure about your music.
2. That is a known issue with the recovery.
Ah I see I well I guess ill try getting rid of the recovery and go from there.

You might try copying them to your computer, making a new music folder on the sd card and moving them back.
Try moving your pics to the download folder and see if they show up.
What device are you coming from?

You don't have .nomedia files in those folders do you? Just throwing out possibilities.

After a little file snooping I discovered a .nomedia file on the root of my SD card ;p problem solved lol . Thanks for the help. Also in regards to my other problem - the forced recovery menu - anybody know if there is another safe recovery I can use?

I have a new update ota,for locations. Anyone did this already? What are the changes? No problems after update? Because I'm terrified from HTC's updates
Ps do you have to restart your phone afterwards?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using XDA App
it is totally usesless!
i use Sygic aura navigation!
much better!
No, you don't have to restart your phone!
But still it is only worth if you use locations.

Hello, update for me too, bu i already use Copilot ...
Since applying this update, Locations no longer works on my phone.
It opens but says the files on my SD card are old or missing and then it tries to download them but cant. Unable to download locations in a red triagle is what appears on my screen.
Tries installing HTC Sync and then downloaded the maps etc using that but still the same problem.
Anyone got a link to the old APK so I can install the one that actually works?
Just go phone settings, click location, then chose reinstall.

Nope, as I said, it wont download the install to allow the re-install.
Thanks anyway.
I saw this on lifehacker earlier. I thought maybe there were a few dropbox users here that could use more space.
1. Download the new client from http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=52900 and install on PC
2. Put a lot of pictures on your phone
3. Hook phone up to PC
4. Get 500MB extra with the first upload plus 500MB more for every 500MB uploaded up to 4.5GB free
Similarly OT, have they discovered the wonderful world of cryptography yet? Was a PITA having to crypt everything presync (yay Tasker). I'm back to sloppy homemade FTP server until then.

I'm not really sure. I never use it for anything sensitive or private.

I don't think that there is an upload dialog on the desktop client... Just drop stuff into the Dropbox folder and it syncs automagically.
exactly i cant upload from my pc i cant find the "upload option

Is it not putting a small blue icon on the lower left side of the file icon? That's the upload in progress icon. A green one is uploaded.
There isn't an option that I have seen to manually up load. It just syncs the folder you set when you installed it.

I put photos/videos on my phone and then detached and reattached USB. Then, autoplay prompted me to use dropbox to open the drive. It copied them to a folder called camera uploads on my pc's dropbox folder and synced them.

Ahh! There's my problem. I refuse to allow autoplay to work on any of the Windows boxen in my house.
Here is the for sure way to get the 500mb. First either download the apk from here. Or get it straight to your phone from this QR code. Both of these links can be found at the Dropbox forum page here.
Once you have the app installed either fresh or over a previous install. Open it. It should take you through the setup as if it was a new install rather than an update. Once the setup was over the app went to a new screen and showed my photos and videos being found and then it began to upload them.
I did have an issue when running it for the first time. I went into my settings while it was uploading. When I went back to Dropbox. The app did a funky crash, force close. Then it got interesting. The app opened and wanted to start all over, then closed, then opened and began a loop of that that would not close or allow me to get to settings or anything that would help. I had no issue when pressing the fingerprint button and then choosing to shut down. After it restarted I went to Dropbox and started it. I had to log in, but other than that it is running just fine. No more weird loops, fc's or strangeness of any sort so far. And I did get my 500mb right away. I did delete the photos that I tried uploading from my pc earlier and it didn't act like I cheated or anything.
Hope that this helps.
all i did was make some throwaway 720p videos with the stock camera app. after u stop the video dropbox will start uploading. extra 4.5 gb with minimal effort...
My upload speed is 512kbps i think i cant get more then extra 500mb
When i go to download a file from the browser, it downloads to 99% then says 'Download Unsuccessful'. It happens everytime and it is really annoying because i have to download it off my computer and then transfer it to my phone. I'm running CM10 nightlies with Air Kernel #201. Any help would be appreciated!

Try turning off wifi sleep? If you're connected to wifi and this is off then when the screen cuts off it kills your wifi connection.
Don't quote me on this.
Either clear data on your download manager or uninstall chrome (it's been known to cause problems) and/or switch to an alternative browser

clear cache of your download manager, maybe resolve it
What browser are you using? I usually have this issue with the stock browser, but using dolphin or opera mini generally works better for me. I've also used the app "easy downloader pro" from the play store, it will let me resume a download that didn't compete the first time...

It's been happening to me lately on CNA 3.5 with the stock browser.
Every time I clear the data in my Download Manager things start working again.
Eventually it starts to mess up again though. >_>
Mine does it on 3g with stock browser. Sometimes I have to click retry like 20 times before it gets it. And for me it works best when nothing else is running.
And Im also on cm10 and air kernel, but I've had that problem with every ROM and kernel I've used.
Like the other guy said, try a different browser, dolphin is nice

But the install fails.
I am trying to force the APK to install in order to see if anything will come up upon launch or just error.
So far I have noticed that the installer is using the a data connection to decide not to install. So, I believe it is reaching out to a Samsung server with some sort of device ID to decide to install or not. With the phone in airplane mode the install fails instantly, but with a weak data connection I can see the data activity active for a good 15+ seconds before it fails.
Is it possible to disable this check and force the install?

Used an app called "permission master" to strip away some permissions, but didn't work.
I guess my only hope now is finding an experienced DEV that is interested enough to decompile the APK and remove the device check.
Oh well
