just thought i share this.
So it doesn't charge your minutes? Sweet, but I have unlimited already, so yeah. xD

not sure i guess we will find out more details on wed.
You beat me to it, but yes pretty cool. You can only expect this sort of feature from Tmobile until they are bought out by evil AT&T.
Though I have unlimited calling, I must say this is very generous of them. I am sure this will appeal to many corporate people who often travel internationally.
Love it...till it's here.
I bet now we will see an upspike of people going back to 2.2 due to the fully working Wi-Fi Calling haha.
On 2.2.1 it works but you can't make normal outgoing calls...pretty major bug.
It didn't say it was free, but also did say anything about a charge. I can't see them giving that away for free. I think I remember it was like $10 a month to have it unlimited.

Cause att is a large corp that started as a landline company that offers internet service and now they're the second largest provider in an industry where the line between phone service and internet service is quickly fading. They're essentially a telecommunications goliath along with verizon that the fcc needs to break up. Remember the too big to fail of the banks. That's what we have here with these two companies. Now that they're swallowing up their smaller rival im amazed at the fact that few people are speaking out on this. Were the ones that lose out because of lack of investments. These companies will try to take advantage of their copper networks before they put any significant investments into fiber optics which is already at least a decade old. That's why google is buying up fiber optics lines, most of the fiber optics network is underused in the US. Googles setting up their own internet service which will outcompete these old farts. What we need is more companies like apple and google which try to give consumers choice as opposed to having gloiath corporations like att and verizon which try to bloat our phones with crap and charge extra for tethering because theyre both internet providers and cellphone companies. God forbid you use your smartphone as an actual smartphone...that costs extra.

very well stated. Att landlines and dsl are so out of date, they'll swallow tmo like they did cingular and prob sell it. Or get the gov to bail them out when they fail.

Since there is not a thread specifically for individual carriers I figured it would be a good idea to start one for each. Feel free to post anything T-Mobile related.
Has the T-Mobile merger become official yet dry if I'm asking a noob question. Just wanted to know because I heard the FCC was taking opinions from the actual clients that would be affected by the merger.

Nope. Not even close. They won't have a yes or no until at least next April, and even then I'm not sure they will know exactly what they will do, but I'm sure by this years end we should have a good feel for how the answer is going to fall. I personally hope it falls through.

Which T-Mobile? T-Mobile USA? UK? Germany? They're all different companies! The UK one is now owned by Orange, for example!
The world, and the cellphone carriers, are a lot bigger than the USA, y'know.

agree, ATT is much more expensive Plans. Tmo since i got is more economically in my case..
I got new contract on Tmo, and got mytouch 4G. This little phone is a beast. Battery life seems to be awesome too.
There are rumors of people in miami getting 3G on their phones. Can someone possibly confirm this? I called Metro directly and found out that there are at least 5 other cities running on 3G.

I was reading another board where folks in Orlando were getting 3g Also read someone in Tampa getting it I upgraded the .prl to 3022 but no luck so far
Moved..............
I also swapped to prl 3022 but nothing happened. I'm so pissed that we don't have 3G in thia area of Florida (Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples), you know, I just got the crazy idea of making an online protest against MetroPCS. We should gather a bunch of people from different areas of Florida that do not have 3G coverage and plan on doing something like that. Maybe when we have 1000 people protesting for the same thing and threatening to leave MetroPCS then they'll do something about it. Again just a thought.

What people fail to realize is if 3g is everywhere your bill will go up and you will have a data cap to cover overages and you will end up with a at&t or Verizon situation the reason why metro is so cheap is because there isn't a 3g if you really want speed upgrade to a 4g phone otherwise be patient until they figure out how much data is being used in major cities and if it's worth the extra costs

It will get better. Now MetroPCS has the LG Esteem 4g it is on their site now so soon they should have to upgrade the system to handle usage. I pay 50 a month with metropcs and i still like it better then the contract companies. Also i read today that sprint is no longer doing one year contracts more folks to metro? never know
Metro is a headache to deal with if you have billing issues, but they're cheap and there's no commitment. That's always nice, but it cuts both ways. They can jack up your price whenever they want.
Contracts aren't solely beneficial to the provider. Sometimes they actually help the customer--I'm on contract for 2 years, for two lines, 1000 shared minutes, unlimited SMS/nights/weekends and 2GB data per device for $100.
It's cheaper than what we were paying for two individual Even More Plus plans (though we did lose 3GB of data). And T-Mobile can't change the price without breaking the contract.
My girlfriend has metro and we live in a city with 3g service. It's super spotty. Even in their most well covered areas, she usually still only gets 1x.
interesting, wonder how this will hurt or help Sprint down the road. whats your opinions on this move by Sprint?

im wondering if now that japs own 70% if there will be laws/guidelines they can skirt to make our service better since itll now be technically a foreign company since they own 70% now.
Softbank is well known for their heavy lte push. And it's not like it really helps us wimaxers but I think that will be a start in the right direction for sprint especially after that lightsquared debacle.
HERE is a good Article on what's going on. Also more info in THIS Article. Hopefully the Merger / Buyin Takeover will help Sprint Update it's Network quicker. So we can have faster, and better service with more coverage.
Since its an international player, i'm not entirely sure how this will go in the long run. If nothing else, the extra revenue backing should help in the long run i guess.
Sprint sux so badly this can't hurt them any more than they are already. They need a big push in the right direction.
heheh good thing I bought 115 shares of sprint at $3

Maybe THIS ARTICLE will help everyone understand what they're up to. Sprint is basically positioning itself to have more Broadband Spectrum available then Verizon, or any other US carrier. Which would equal better Service, and Faster Data. Hopefully :cyclops: Giving them an edge they sorely need IMO.
Well I do hope that their service improves!!! But not at the expence of customer service.
