haha, you joined this forum this month, and you think you can undestand it all?
I have been here a little while..I still get surprised with what I can find on this forum.
If I want to learn something new, I spend a great deal of hours trying to find something I can use, and when I find something, I spend alot of time reading up on it, searching even more in the same topic.
All in all. The wiki is not perfect, the forum is not perfect, but in my oppinion, its dam close. I know a bunch of paysites that provides alot less info then you find here.
We are a bunch of ppl who love what we are doing, but demanding more and more and more is not the way to do it.
And the funny thing here is: Imagine if you got all the answers, and are happy with it
Imagine then...In a few days, another guy ask the same question, ofcourse you help him....and then, in a few days, another thread is started with similar questions. and so on...
Then you start thinking; hmmm, maybe we should make a sticky with this info, so that the noobs dont ask so many times, I will make it easy for them.
So there..you got a sticky with the topic, and alot of good answers (now you have become a more experienced user, uyou are getting good with the terms used here, you know what stuff means, like in.ex RUU, ROM, Hard-SPL etc..)
And again, you are happy to help ppl out, you start using the language used on this forum, you use the knowlege you have mastered in some degree.
And your sticky is full of wisdom and knowlege.
But...after 50 guys have asked the same question (in many diffrent ways, nice, begging, cursing, hateful and so on) you start thinking:
Dam, will those huys never learn to read? Hell, I have given them everything I know, the best way I can.
You are starting to become lazy with posting in your sticky, cause you have done so before, so many times...even on pm (private messages) ppl are asking for personal guidence, and they need it now (and your girlfriend is waiting in the bedroom, or dinner is ready, or you need to go to work, or you have damn much stuff you need to fix with the latest w/e, and are quite finished with that old ****, cause you have moved way past that stage long time ago )
And suddenly you find yourself writing something like I am writing now...
welcome to XDA

OK. we will change ALL...we will make it like in other forums...a "How 2 post" so that EVERY post looks the same...so that noob can follow...
BUT YOU check ALL NEW post if they are posted the right way.
hahahahahahaahaha
NO man. IF you cannnot follow the instructions in the threads...DO NOT FLASH!!!
I spent 1 year ONLY READING before flashing my first rom!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO don´t come here with 5 posts and tell us how to do our job
Well i dont wish to be this forum like any other "plx crack this phorumzz", i think its just as it should be.
besides, when i started flashing my htc devices, it took me 10 mins to find xda-dev's, and another 30 min to figure out what buttons to press to get the stuff i wanted to have.
so dont tell us its too difficult - if youre not smart enough its not our concern.
use google for other forums if youre not pleased with the offers in here.

Read, REad, REAd and READ.
I went from stock, to NRG and back to t-mobile's latest rom, how did i do it? I did it by not being lazy and actually reading the very helpful information posted on this forum and on the HTC HD2 general forum here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=531

Ya you should know by now that is just to hard for some. Even when there are threads that are stickied and have titles like "[ROM]Leo 1.5 T-MOBILE Test & Stock ROMS ".
I wonder what could be in that thread?
Well now that he's been thoroughly flamed, I think he gets it.
I'm obviously new here too but I'm used to digging for facts in forums like this so I dig dig dig and read read read. However, I would hope that if I overlook something, which is quite easy to do here, that you veterans would go easy on me with the flamethrowers. I frequently find a very important piece of info on page 125 of a 200+ page thread that should be moved to page 1. It's like tunneling 3 miles to your mailbox versus walking to the edge of your driveway.
I'm not really complaining. This is generally a great forum with tons of invaluable tips and access to really cool add-ons/mods.
I agree, time to put the flame throws away guys. We all must remember that while there are alot of us that this is second nature to, there are those that the beautiful screen of the HD 2 brought to WM for the first time.
With that being said I am closing the thread, Remember search is your friend

Starting to lose faith in this phone.

Every time i come online and look up a question i seem to find all jargon now to explian. im am not a Tech minded person and dont understand jargon but brought the phone as i liked it but since i brought it all i seem to find is battery issues which i dont have lag fixes which my phone seems fast enough. Its on Froyo 2.2 and rooted with z4 root what ever this all means lol. my mate was playing on my phone and sais ghe rooted it while i was cookin th tea. lol.
right i was looking for a theme to personalise it a bit more but i seem to find themes for jpo.tpi etc does this mean i need a theme that fits with my current firmware as i honestly dont have a clue?
Do some reading. There are a lot of really good how-to guides on this forum that people do not have an excuse not to know how to do something. If you are not comfortable doing it, don't.
I am a technical person, but I have a difficult time reading technical stuff as I have ADD and can not concentrate long enough to understand some things. What do I do, well, I only do the things I am comfortable doing. I would like to cook my own ROM's but I can't concentrate long enough to learn how to do it, so I don't do it.
Flashing your phone with a new theme, a new ROM, or a new kernel to speed it up can kill it it if you do not know what you are doing. If you see a theme you want to install, there should be instructions how to do it on that page, if there isn't, go to another one.
Ian
I agree to the previous poster.
Just read the HOW-TO´s, they are really good and well written.
Rooting and flashing a custom ROM is pretty easy. When you have followed a guide once you will see how easy this really is.

What do you think the means?
As mentioned before, if you do not know what you are doing, DON'T! But if you are like me fed up with the crappy stuff that comes with the phone and all the lagz, you can try to flash your phone.
It is important that you follow the how to's and read 2/3 times carefully before you start the whole process.
I am a satisfied SGS user now

Well making it to the forum is half the battle. Now you need to use your skills and read like the rest of us do. Info will not just be handed over at your request.
Happy hunting!

Seriously, there are several links that list out different Roms.
Read up on them and figure out which one sounds the best to you, the flash it.
It's not like you can't keep switching...
Good luck!
Too many to list but flash away at a few of them-we have too many great developers here. Just make sure to thank them.

Maybe trying to get to that almost attainable "10th post"? Maybe not. I can't tear myself away from the TeamHeroc rom for very long. I like having the options for all of the variety the Hero gets from some giving devs though. :')

We should have a bible like the Galaxy S 4G Forums

Anyone willing to make a Reference Bible like the Samsung Galaxy S 4G forums has ? I can help and i think some people here would really benefit from it. Heres the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117554
We've had one before their phone even existed.....
however i do think it IS outdated.
edit: yep its outdated but here

it requires a new maintainer, something that requires alot of free time to browse the forums and update regularly, something that alot of users simply do not have the time for (myself included) if you would like a new or simplified bible i would suggest you take up the task on your own, be forewarned it does take alot of time/dedication.
Good luck
-Cheers
I don't think ill be able to do it myself lol I need someone else to help me maintain it.
