[Q] Arabic for Tmobile mytouch 4g - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can I make my Tmobile mytouch 4G reads
arabic language?

It will be great if we can include the changes to get arabic letters displayed correctly. However, if you would like a workaround for now [untill libraries are migrated to mytouch 4G] here is what you can do:
Flash your Phone with Gorilla's Desire-HD port for myTouch 4G
Find Arabic libraries [online] for Desire-HD and simply flash them
I have done that and Arabic letters did display correctly and letters were connected as you would expect
EDIT: In case you could not find it, please use the attached update..
Thanks,
-HNT

thanks for your help
but how can I make this?

Find recovery 2.5.1.2... The file was created using older scripts and can only work with above recovery.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Does the recovery 2.5.1.2 safe for MT4G?
Where could I find it? I found 2.5.1.3 in ROM MANAGER is that workable.

What ROM are you running? If you are running the stock ROM, then you don't have to do anything.. 2.5.1.2 is perfect match for stock ROM...

No, you can't use the patch provided, it's for a VERY old ROM. The patch should be done for a ROM with the same framework as the one you're going to use - which means at least the same Android version has to be present.
But:
There is a patch somewhere on XDA, made by madmack originally, if I remember right, based on the Hebrew patch by the guys on iAndroid.co.il (AFAIK, 2 of them are the ones that integrated RTL support in Cyanogenmod 6.something).
I couldn't find madmack's original post, but here's a link to one of the patch versions, the "source" links to madmack's blog, I think :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410460
You can try to search for the original one using "arabic for any ROM script" keywords in Google.
Using this patch, you can add Arabic support to almost any ROM (MIUI has its own script, because of some internal changes that are incompatible with standard Android frameworks).
If you find the original one - it might be running like the current Hebrew patch - directly in recovery, patching the phone over ADB, without the need to extract framework and lib files and pack them back into ROM ZIP.

thank you Jack_R1
i'm not sure if i can do that. but at least that's the only one available now i'll give it a shot
i did it!!!
how can i thank you again? LoL

1 thanks is more than enough. You're welcome

There is no point in porting a hero ROM. It wouldn't help making the ROMs.
To install it, it is quite simple.
Go to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=716282
THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SIMLOCK. I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SIMLOCKED PHONES.
download the tools from point 1.3 and the new SU from the bottom of the post.
run adb (explained in 1.1) and execute the commands from 1.5.
execute the commands from 2.3. Standard, you got the Amon Ra recovery in the tools you've downloaded. If you need another one (like clockworkmod, needed for the experimental gingerbread rom, you can just replace it)
Then your tattoo is rooted and you can flash a ROM to it. Check this video about how to do it. http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/30/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-the-htc-tattoo/
Note that, depending on your machine, you need to use the volume buttons to go up/down and the green phone to select (as shown in the video) or you need to use the arrows to go up/down and the dpad to select (as I had to do with my phone).
hope it helped.
I currently use Kalim's ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872668 . It is very stable and the camera is under way. I think he will get the camera fixed within about 2 weeks or a month.
To update a ROM, you don't have to do the wipe step from the video.

Hello
I have little problems.
When I'm done with the installation (install rom)) I don't have HTC wallpapers ..

It's just empty

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/830/snap20110624224917.png/
I tried to install v6 at first, then flach v8 (without wipe) and there are still no wallpapers!
When I open 0001_WildPuzzleROM_v0.8.zip from the PC .. I see wallpapers there.
So they didn't copy during the installation?!
if it matters I root my phone with AlphaRev. In the moment I'm with recovery-clockwork-3.2.0.0.zip + recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.7-buzz.zip
see that:
Baseband version:
11.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10
Kernel version:
2.6.32.21-g8f75634
I did not go on cus I'm not sure is everything is going to be ok.
P.S.
When I calc 10 post - i copy this here:

You're not alone. I have same problem, too. There's a lot more missing things like setup wizard, input languages other than English, etc... Not just wildpuzzle, same situation applies to some other custom roms I tried.
Weird thing is that there's no problem with old wildpuzzle 8.0.11. Maybe some dev would come out and compare it with others to find out what's wrong.

I had same problem with my daughters wildfire she has s-off with alpha rev,I have s-off with xtc clip and never had this(I have wildfire too).also sunaabh rom same thing no wallpapers or scenes,so I used one of my wildpuzzle nandroids then did factory reset, wonder what the problem is?
HTC wildfire cyanogenmod nightly
hboot -1.01 s-off
@bynge: It doesn't matter even if you flash a ruu dude, I tried it. There's no problem with wildpuzzle 8.0.11. So in your words, does this mean wildpuzzle developer's work is better than stock?
Anyway, do you have any solution to the situation, or...?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Same problem with the rom Jokerdroid and DK. I have noted that also the tone gallery in empty (if i open the stock notification editor for incoming calls i found the tones, when i search for them with other applications like alarm clock i can only use the downloaded ones)

Yes, and in my view, it is. If you cannot offer a solution, atleast don't troll.
Solution:
Install old version (131.9mb) -> everything is OK.
flash new v8(126.3mb) without wipe and still OK (wallpapers and scenes)
now tested other things.
sry for bad EN.

100%.
The things that are limited by stock version will be overcomed by dev software.
Personally i got S-OFF, bluetooth wireless pan tethering (kernel dependent) , live wall papers, better battery, and many other things.....
If everyone tells what they got benefited by dev software, then the list will be really huge.....
I also heard that wifi N and newer htc sense got enabled in devices that are not supported by stock (not sure about sense). Depends on what u consider. IMO, like i said 100%.

Try to compare the update-script files of both, and see if there is any part "missing" or something.
If both are alike/the same, then create a recovery-logfile just after flashing the latest wildpuzzle rom. Perhaps it will clear some things.
Erwin
Could it be a problem related to AlphaRev?
this morning i've flashed an ruu stock rom and the problem is still here: empty htc wallpaper.
I doubt this is a wildpuzzle bug cause I've never flash one of those rom (only cyanogen, jokerdroid, dk).
the only things in common are alpharev and clockworkmode (i'm using cwm2.5) but the latter is out there since too long to discover a bug just now.
I restore stock and no problem ..
did you restore stock through recovery or the executable ruu?

I flashed ruu via fastboot using pc49img.zip method and problem is still there. Exe file always interrupted by battery lower than %30 error no matter what is battery level.
And yes, it's not a wildpuzzle related error. It happens in all custom roms and ruu except wildpuzzle 8.0.11.

Beta Test for BootManager(multi-boot app)

We've gotten alot of response from the Desire community so thank you all for your help. At this time we do not need any more testers for the desire. BootManager should be updated with support for the Htc Desire in the next few days. The app currently won't support rom's that use apps2sd and data2sd but our team is working on getting support for those as well. Thanks.
Hey guys my team has developed an app called bootmanager which went into the market today. The app let's you install rom's to your sdcard and boot between them. I had originally done an inc only version here that used your recovery for installing rom's. The new app installs the rom's directly through the app and then let's you boot between them. Anyway on to the point of this post...i'm looking for 1 or 2 beta testers to add support for the desire. You'll need a little knowledge of adb, root of course, and just a little bit of patience. So far has worked pretty well on every htc device wev'e tried so I'm confident we can add support for the desire as well. You can get a little more info about the app from the link in my sig or looking at it in the market. If your interested pm me so I can get the info needed for the desire(.i.e partition sizes and a few other things that i'll tell you how to find in adb) and I'll send the apk for you to try. Thanks for your help....
Very interesting app! Would hboot have to be compatible (ie right size) with all the installed roms or as they are installed to SD does it not matter?

by hboot your refferring to the bootloader? This doesn't change the bootloader. It makes img's on your sdcard which hold your system/data/cache files for the rom, then it edits the boot.img for that rom to point to those img's when booting. Then the app flashes the boot.img for the rom you want to boot too.
I would be very interested in trying this out as I pretty much change my ROM on a daily to weekly basis haha, I just can't stop! This would be a good way to nurture my need for all the ROMs I switch between all of the time.
Would this app work on a non rooted phone? I mean having the stock ROM in the phone and a rooted one on the SDcard. But I guess it wouln't...

No you need an unlocked bootloader to switch the boot.img. And root to do a number of other things involved in setting up the rom.

Once you go MIUI you don't go back I can't bring myself to use anything else LOL!
Oh I tried MIUI-XJ, it's nice to know that you're happy with it ^^ I used it for about three to four days and felt that I was using an iPhone more so than an Android and I prefer the feel/look of Android devices... I loved being able to theme it so easily, though. I like the transparency mods in NeoPhyte ROMs and bits and pieces of many others... I should just figure out how to make my own.
I hope that you got my response, Conap! My sent items folder said I hadn't sent anything but I am most positive that I did so I will wait to hear back from you =D.
Yeah, sure I could help with the testing... Do you want somebody with that knows ADB etc..?
got Miui XJ on phone rom and tried to boot CM7.
working without problems so far!
thank you. gonna look into this now
Should we run the update after the rom has been installed, so it updates the boot.img ? Haven't tried running the update.zip directly from bootmanager yet, but works fine from recovery.
Installed MIUI-108050 on my HTC Desire (stock boot/S-ON)
looks fantastic....im new to android and my desire but i am currently using neo's reflex s rom and i love it...i really want to try MIUI but i love reflex!

[FIX] Android Revolution HD™ 7.0.x Hebrew Fix

Hello Everyone,
I saw people asking about Hebrew fix for the AWESOME Android Revolution HD Rom,
so I compiled a fix from a script This Guy made.
For the official thread of the ROM here's a link.
And for the the fix to flash AFTER you flash the room AND boot it.
Downloads:
Current Version:
ARHD 7.3: HebFix_Android_Revolution_HD_v7.3_Fonts.zip.
ARHD 9.0: HebFix_Android_Revolution_HD_v9.0_Fonts.zip.
Older Versions:
ARHD 7.0.x: HebFix_Android_Revolution_HD_v7.0.x_Fonts.zip.
ARHD 6.3.x: HebFix_Android_Revolution_HD_v6.3.x_Fonts.zip.Enjoy.
*Note:
For some reason the Hebrew locale option is not available in Settings>Language and Keyboard>Select Language, there is a way to change this with this app https://market.android.com/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale.
Just Select custom locale and write iw and then IL.
And if you like to thank the guy that made the script Donate him.
Thanks

If you have the fonts that you need you can just download the zip file and replace the fonts in the /system/fonts folder.
And don't forget to delete the other folders so it will not do the RTL fix (/system/framework and /system/lib).
And in anycase do a nanodroid backup first, who knows what could happen.
Hope this will help you

Hey Omriabu1
Did you change anything dramatic in the V.6.3.1 ?
I flashed the one for 6.2..0, over mike's 6.3.1 version and so far it works pretty well.
Question is do you think it would cause issues, an if so, would simply flashing your recent work just resolve it?
BTW thanks a lot for releasing updates and staying on top of things, your doing a great service

Actualy I don't think there is not much difference between the two versions because it's Basicly the same base, but I just wanted to be on the safe side and recompile the fix using the files from the new ROM.
Anyway if it's working for you now I don't think there will be any problem with it later on but you can flash on top of it the new version if you like.
And don't worry about the updates I'm a user myself so I just upload what I'm using

The best ROM for HTC Tattoo is CyanogenMod 7, I think.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297712. U use it almost 6 months and everything works perfect.
Look for arco's nFinity 1.13. Absolutely the Best.

First you should use clockworkmod recovery.
Second, do a full wipe.
Last, flash gapps and infinityGB 1.14 rom.
Hope it helps.

Most roms have all that working, the best one out there is nFinity, although you can check the thread on a ROM, that should tell you what is working and what is not working
