(THINKTANK)MIUI Port for the HD2 (9/22/2010)

Hey all. I'm new to the HD2 but not to android. I'm sure you've all seen the MIUI rom for desire and nexus. (if you haven't go here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Or-9T44Bt7M&feature=player_embedded
To clarify :"It appears that the ROM has been mostly custom built using only the base from Android 2.2 and then building an exceptional interface on top that could beat anything else that currently exists.
From full FM radio support to completely customizable home screens, dedicated buttons on the lock screen that take you to the SMS app and the phone dialer."
Since its fore the desire/nexus, It should be an easy port to the HD2, I just need halp
I'm sure most of us would love to see this implemented on the HD2. I thought I could do it myself, but I've tried and failed. Below are two links. One for the full rom and the other is a link to the system.ext2 image I made from the /system folder of the ROM. I've tried a couple of different kernel combinations and still can't get it to boot (replaced the system.ext2 in shubcraft with the one I made and it just reboots). I don't yet know enough about android on the hd2 to get this working myself. So I figured I'd start a thread and see where we can get.

Seems like the hd2 has quite the community following. I'm looking forward to working with you guys
UPDATE: 9-24-2010 : We do have a working test build that is being given out to a few folks. No ETA on a alpha or beta release. Hopefully this weekend. I'm tonight and tomorrow so I'll squeeze in some android time when I can. SARCASTILLO (guy who made hyperdroid) gets the credit for getting this thing booting. Hey there biff, did you finally trade in the slide for an HD2? If so, im glad to see you over here now.
P.S. The music in the video makes me want to run up a big flight of stairs and air punch at the top.

i love the idea of "endles" possibilities when it comes to UI for a single phone and i hope you are succesful in porting this for HD2, but i HAVE to say

Nice to hear that ! We always lack people like you, however the few Hd2 build developers have magic hands.
Maybe you already know that, but I suggest you to contact them directly for this great project because Hd2 is a very popular phone, so this forum is 99.9% populated by end-users. At the begining kernel developers tried to work into xda forums, but deserted for the Htc-linux Irc because of noise.

This would be so awesome!!!! DEVS, plz plz plz look at this !!

personally i'd love to see this ported! would be something... different!

I rather run the actual os then the ui

I would definitly try the real OS if it would be possible cool to have all those OS es hehe

It looks nothing like the iOs nor IphoneOS nor firmware 4.0. Some people are here just to make a crowd. Anyway, to the OP, this is great. try to contact DarkSt0ne, Mattc, Dan1j3l. they could help. or, on twitter, contact the htc_linux guys. Hope you can make it and if you base it on the new Desire HD Rom, and include some other languages like japanese, your rom will be one of the greatest. Thank you and good luck

I've been able to create a booting system...
but I don't have a signal... must be the libs or something...
wifi works and the ui is iOs-ish
some of the pop-ups and menus are in chinese so I'm not sure what I'm doing sometimes...
will post something as soon as I get the signal working. and camera... and etc....

not sure it'll be anytime soon.. just tried making it boot to play with....
looks like its an odexed system (will try to deodex) and using a heavily tweaked launcher ui... pretty sweet... includes google pinyin support OOTB (of course)

Tried this MIUI ROM on my Desire HD and is kinda getting to like it.
Therefore I was wondering if anyone is up to the challenge porting this for the 32A? and 32B off course, but thats not in my interest
It's not Iphone at all, as I always beleived. It's quite cool and good a lot of benefits. But most important. Its superfast. Equalant to the CM7, which I also tried.
So, what do you say? Anyone into this?
PS: I know the Q has been asked before, but those I found didnt get any response. So I put new life into this

Im looking for a rom but cant remember the name..help?

Hi, i am searching for a rom that i used when i had my other dhd a few months back.. it had excellent animations not like all other roms..and it had almost Everything on the phone incl system apps themed. does anyone know wich rom i am talking about? i have searched but cant find it..

Sounds like the virtuous unity ROM that i'm using now, them again it could be anything cause i'm only on my third new ROM so I don't have much experience of others

virtuous hasnt been arround that long i think..i will take a look though

why not try and search your previous posts via user cp you may find out that way ....just a thought

Need this apk Made installable

I need this apk made into an installable one. It's the digital clock widget from the SGS2 but won't install in my HD2.

Not sure how to do that, but there's a chance that it needs touch wiz. Much like sense widgets need sense to work.
I'll give it a go though. If it works I'll let you know.

Nan, not this widget. I was using Launcher Pro instead of TW and the widget was still usable. Others weren't, though.

I've poked it around here and there, extracted it, signed it and repacked it, but seems my froyo doesn't like it. but I'm not a dev, so I might have done something wrong.
there's also a chance that it works only on gingerbread, I've a few apps that would only work on certain gingerbread builds.

Yes the SGS2 is TW 4.0 which is Gingerbread dependent unfortunately

I'm using Gingerbread in my HD2 so I should be able to this widget. It isn't TW dependent but did have an odex file, which I didn't copy.

Wanna post it anyway and see if anyone with GB can install it ?

[Q] Halo Waypoint APK

Does anyone know where to or have the apk for the new halo waypoint app since it seems its not compatible with most htc android phones

yes because htc and microsoft are having "agreement issues" thats y its on htc windows phones but not android. My wife has an older android phone but its not htc and it got it.

Well thats why im here looking for someone who has uploaded it. My wife's phone has proved to be very stubborn to root or i would have done it already
And i dont believe windows uses apk format

Noob here, and maybe a noob suggestion. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
You said that your wife's phone got to install the apk. Couldn't you use ES File Explorer or something to back up the app and get the apk? I think you don't need root to be able to do that.
If you do manage to get it, I hope you share the apk here too. The Android market doesn't want to play nice with any of my devices when it comes to the Halo Waypoint app.

it appears as if this .apk is only for dual core devices. I just downloaded it to my Transformer w/o problem but it will not run on my Glacier.

To add, the app is also picky with regard to user location. It says not available for your country on my KF.

Its really disappointing that they hype this all over and they release it 8/10 customers cant download and use it. They hype it for months and never say that it couldn't run on single cores. Still trying to figure something out

I haven't had any luck getting the apk. I've heard some have but i don't think anyone has posted so i hope someone does if they have gotten the apk

Finally got it, works well on my Evo 4G using Miks Rom, and my friends stock Evo 3D. Here you go guys, hope it works for you all.

I'm a Rom Flip Flopper

np man. I was going crazy looking for it last night but never found it online. Couldn't wait to get to work today so I can used one of our 30 androids to get the app for me and back it up. lol. I used an LG Ally to pull it and works fine on my Evo.

Works perfectly in Evo Shift 4G w/ official 2.3.3 firmware. Just wish I could move it off to an SD Card!
