I can't update after unrooting my phone - Fascinate General

I successfully returned my phone into stock condition by using odin recovery. There is one problem exists. My Baseband version differs from Build number. Baseband says i have DI01 but Build number says it's DH12. When I kept clicking for update, it says it's available......and when I click 'OK' to download, it downloaded upto 10% and then disconnects dued to network error. Does anyone know how to fix this?

This post probably belongs under here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782204
I'm not aware of whether that guide specifically includes a DH12 modem though. Is it even acceptable to post any modem on this forum?

Perhaps if you got your hands on a stock (and not deodexed) Di01 kernel and ran factory reset from Privacy?

whoever uploaded "Stock-i500-VZW-Kernel.tar" contains old DH12 file.......
anyone who has link to stock DJ01-VZW-Kernel.tar?

I forget which file that needs to get updated, but you are most likely running di01. There is one file that needs to get updated though. I typically get rid of that by installing jt's super clean rom.

get rid of dh12? how?

First its not DJ01 its DI01 the DJ update is DJ05. There are no Odin files for DI01 Google around for the DI01 ota update and apply the update.zip via recovery. Easy as that.
Either that or get JT's super clean rom v.04 that's based on DI01

[Q] [HELP] DG27 to DI07 custom rom non-kernel upgrade

I'm currently running Epic Experience latest version with Mixup kernel latest version but my baseband is still S700.0.5S.DG27 and I've read around to see how I can upgrade the baseband without hurting my current rom/kernel installation (minus the upgrade install some various apps).
I've found this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797090
That link describes upgrading to DI18 from DI07, but as previously stated I'm on DG27 so what I want to know is if I use the files from that above link will that work or do I need to apply the updates in the specific order?
If I have to follow the specific order, could someone provide me a link like the one I've pasted above but for DG27 to DI07?
Thanks!

Make a nandroid backup through Clockwork Mod, then the easiest way is to use odin to flash DI18, reflash your rom and let it boot. go into clockwork recovery, backup and restore, advanced restore, choose the correct date, then restore only the data. should get you fixed up.

Yup, since your kernel is based off the DI18 source you can jsut apply this zip to update your modem/radio (baseband) to DI18 as well. this will mostly give you better upload speeds
EDIT: no offense newkidd but thats WAY more work than he needs to do. he's already running a custom ROM and has a DI18 based kernel. the link in my post is for people with non stock files, so he doesnt need to go back to stock to use it.
i do second making a backup in clockworkmod before applying any zip, but then flash away and you'll see baseband go to DI18
Awesome thanks a ton... ill try the custom non-stock zip after a quick nandroid and if that doesn't work ill do the newkidd method . Ill mark thread resolved once I try this after I'm off of work.

So that link is broken... anyway I could get a hand on finding the proper link?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
i had downloaded it so i'll post it here, flash this in recovery and it will ONLY update your modem/baseband to Di18, wont touch kernel or ROM or root. good luck
So I tried this update and it totally f'd my phone lol
For some reason my nandroid doesn't fix it either so here I go down the rabbit hole with odin
Just going to flash back to stock, update and then re-root and flash EE back again, wonderful way to spend my saturday.

Ended up doing your method newkidd, thanks!
It is a lot of work but usually things that take more time end up paying off in the long run.

Need help returning to stock 2.1 update 1 plz

Can someone help me find a clockworkmod flashable version of 2.1 update 1? I searched all over, the one by eugene in the bible has been deleted and I read on the thread that vibrantdump.zip link lead me to that its only odin flashable? I have it, will it flash via clockwork? Sending my phone back and want to semi return it to stock at least. Thx

Sorry I can't help you as I don't have what you're looking for. However, why not just use odin? It's just as easy as clockwork to use.
Just follow this guide to the letter and all will be well, I promise...

Go to this page to download the TRUE stock rom. I think it is in ODIN's format but it should work easity just as clockwork. I don't know if it's the same version as the one you have but give ODIN a chance, it was very simple for me and I'm practically a noob.

What's the zip file? Odin files usually contain a pit and a tar file. clockwork's zip have a bunch of folders and files, I think.
Yea you cannot use CWM to flash an Odin package. Use Odin to get back to 2.1.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
KA6 is official now - so no need to go all the way back to 2.1 to return phone. But you'll still need to use Odin to get the completely stock version on.

So, could you flash back to stock with the current 2.2 update from Samsung? Or would flashing back to 2.1 be better?
vibrantdump.zip isn't an actual rom - it's just an archive containing the vibrant file tree. It doesn't have any scripts to install or anything.
Edit: If you're sending it back to Samsung for warranty work, you could always use a stock (not deodex/root/etc) JI6 clockwork mod image. KA6 is official, but not required.
I don't believe its possible to use CWM to flash back to 2.1 from 2.2 in any case because it doesn't backup the kernel. ODIN is the best (perhaps only?) way, but again not necessary since KA6 2.2 is now official.

You can flash a 2.1 rom with kernel such as fusion. Then flash your stock backup and a stock ji6 kernel.

Well I kinda told em that it had 2.1 update 1 lol, my reason for sending back was the gps and according to tmo cust serv the 2.2 release has a fix, I dont pay for a warranty, I guess its just a defective exchange. It also gets super hot above the battery when im really pushing it, that may be why they issued the return because I told them about that too. so if I cant flash the vibrantdump.zip, what would be a rom that simulates 2.1 the best? I cant get to a pc so I cant odin until wednesday and need to get it resembling stock before then. I know I cant lose clockwork recovery but just wanted it to say the right stuff in phone info and have the right startup shutdowns you know? Am I just worrying too much?
Edit: I cant kies mini the new update, no pc, there isnt a clockwork flashable version of it yet is there? could tell them I got it ota while waiting for new phone

I have the ji6 odin files if you want it.. that requires a pc though

Do you what radio your phone uses? DL05 or DL09? You can check in the about phone screen under settings. baseband version will list DL05, DL09, or EA28.
using this guide for rooting

I have read on here the EA28 will not interfere with this transition....but if all fails just use Odin to flash back to DL09 then move right into the rest...(i think when you do the DL30 move one of the steps had you use Odin to push back to DL09 before you do the rezt?!?!)

If you're new at this, don't bother flashing dl30. It's full of bugs and there should be better versions coming soon.

Newb in the fold!

OK well I've finally broke down and deciding to get froyo since eb01 finally released. ea28 updated f'ed up my gps again and I'm ready for flash. So I had saved a write up that seems fool proof and was just wanting to make sure I can follow this and just swap out the dl30 file with the eb01 file. Correct?? I have eb01_stock.zip downloading right now and already have the modem .tar file saved to my desktop.
OK well it wont let me upload a link but its from android central. The how to that was wrote up on DL30
If EB01 is just a change our even update from DL30....for one I can't wait to see the difference but yea the process should still remain the same.....just input EB01 for the DL30....this one I'm only 90% on so hopefully someone can confirm 100% for ya!!
Id also say try it on your phone!! If it works then obviously that is an accurate assumption to make!!!
If it doesn't keep handy the files to flash back to DL09 for a quick save!!
Best of luck!!!
Edit- herez the DL09 incase of failure http://www.multiupload.com/TYDLC2HJWB
Again Best of Luck!!!

To go to EB01, flash the modem using Odin, and then flash the zip in CWM.
Or, you can flash this all in one package from AC using Odin.

Very useful package, but it should be on an upload site you don't need to register for...
It's no different than someone creating a package and posting it here.

He should have... the guide I posted in the 2nd link clearly states to repartition. Usually if you add the pit file, repartition auto checks itself anyways.

There is no official 2.3 update yet... but there is a powerwashed gingerbread rom in dev section thats a official mezmerize build. Its basically a stock gb rom thats rooted/debloated/ bing free/ deodexed.

you need to odin this just like a stock package. use the going back to stock section of this guide below. Just replace the file in step 1 with powerwashed gb.

I agree PW GB is very good except when I try to play 3d games (Guerrilla Bob) the touch screen freezes and does not allow any movement.
I currently have a rooted vibrant my buddy has a fascinate it has been ota updated to 2.2.1 is there a root method or do I need to Odin his phone back to eclair? Thanks in advance hope I'm posting in the right area. I've got cm7 #85 and the new Neo 17 would like to find something similar for his fascinate.

Just use the guide I posted in the 2nd link. It will put his phone on powerwashed ed05 2.2.2 froyo. It's basically a stock rom thats already rooted, debinged, debloated, otb fusion 1.6 voodoo kernal...etc. No point in just rooting anymore with these enhanced stock roms that ccompos put together for us.
Thanks will do

thats because the version of cwm you are running supports ext4 only, not rfs that powerwashed gingerbread is built on. Make sure you have cwm 2.5.1.x red recovery. There is no need to go all the way back to eb01. the stock ed05 package is fine.
