I was running streakdroid 1.8.1, and was having the wifi/3g problem, and after trying the below suggestion (which was posted in the dev section of the 1.8.1 thread post#367 link=http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11869560&postcount=367):

Dumb question, anyone know if it's possible to lose your carrier unlock when doing such things?

Now my streak doesn't boot, can't get to fastboot (pwr+camera), or recovery (vol+,vol-, pwr). Sometimes all three led's light up, and stay on and nothing happens, and sometimes the LED's stay off and nothing happens.
I tried using qdltool (vol+, usb connection to PC) , and it timesout after reboot ok message after I click RUN in qdltool. I installed both the qualcomm and dell fastboot drivers as per instructions, and I don't have a yellow ! in device manager.
Would appreciate any suggestions on what I should try next.

search for the QDL tool, follow instructions and you will be in business again.
I tried QDL tool, and it fails with a fastboot timeout error:
"wait ADB fastboot mode timeout!"
That means you dont have the fastboot driver loaded right.
First is the qualcom driver which you made through... after the small stuff loads. It then pops over to fastboot driver.
Try another driver or pc

I download and successfully installed the Dell R288920 drivers.
Is there some other driver that works better?
i would remove fastboot drivers... reboot, use reinstall drivers and use a different usb...
are you running x64 windows by chance?
I have both a 64bit Win7 and a 32bit WinVista. I followed instructions on streakdroid.com to install qdl tool on 64bit, as well as trying it on 32bit, and they both fail in the same place.
Here's the tail end of the qdl tool log file:

It may be the drivers or it may be the Streak. I have a Streak that isnt recognized as a USB device when plugged in and will not boot into fastboot mode (black screen) with the camera+power buttons. I have tried on 3 PC's(2 windows 7, 1 linux) and none will talk to it via ADB. However they will talk to my other working Streak so I know it isnt the driver.
I suspect it is corrupt NAND memory and have come to the conclusion that the only way to fix it is to get someone to JTAG reprogram it or swap out the mainboard. I would love it if someone can prove me wrong though...
BTW i bought this Streak in this condition so I dont know for sure how it got in this state.
your missing something.. def a driver issue says so itself.
do you get fastboot to work at all outside the qdl tool? if so can you follow the following guide?
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=8285
That's just it, the streak won't power up (pwr+camera), which would allow me to do fastboot outside of qdl tool.
Before I bricked it, I was able to run fastboot outside of qdltool all the time without any problems.
its not bricked... there is an issue with the timing of the driver kicking in or something driver related.. try another pc.
this is a pc issue.. not a streak issue. This part was always the biggest pain in my ass.. took me hours to get my system working right for this stuff.. the streak.. no issues....
i think the streak is unbrickable like the galaxy s phones.
I've tried both my PC's (desktop Win7 64, laptop WinVista 32), and both get the same error.
I've also tried different usb ports. When I first tried fastboot a couple of months ago, I was able to install the correct driver because I was able to start the streak in fastboot mode which then allowed me to install the driver on the desktop ( called android something if I recall correctly).
The problem I had with the QDL tool was the ADB driver also. The instructions I watched didn't include installing it, but did include downloading the folder that had it. If you are following the visual tutorial from the streakdroid website, go into all the folders you downloaded in the process. Somewhere in there is your specifc ADB driver. I was getting the ADB fail also until I found my driver and it installed. Good luck.

I agree with the above post. You havent updated the correct driver. I noticed that when i searched through the recovery folders i notoced that the qcuser driver or whatever it was called, was in multiple folders....i experienced the same ADB error you did but i just kept switching with qcuser driver until i found the correct one. Go have a second look or third look....im sure ull find the right one.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
I've tried all three qcser, qcusb and qcmdm in the repairtool (qdltool) driver subdirectory for 32bit windows in winvista and wnet, with no luck.
Did any of you have problems putting the streak in fastboot mode independent of the PC, because that's not working for me. It used to work for me by pressing pwr + camera buttons.
I believe the ADB drivers were in the other folder you downloaded per the directions.
Also, I was able to get into fastboot prior to the QDL tool, but I don't believe that matters at all. The QDL tool is halfway there at the point it errors on you. You just need that correct ADB driver. You are so close, don't give up. Try the faq section of streakdroid.com
Furthermore, if you have access to an XP machine use it. You are almost back to Streakville.

EUREKA!!!!.
Looks like the flashboot image on the streak was corrupt, so I was able to use streakflash to recover it.
Running nandroid restore as I type this. so hopefully I can get back in business.
Thanks to all of you guys for your suggestions.
I'll let you know if the nandroid restore is successful.

See this page - it is a version of QDLTool that only flashes some files. I believe that it is used to repair the boot.img.
From this page:
Q: I’m trying to flash my Streak with the QDLTool but it keeps coming up with Error D2 ADB Timeout
A: This can be for a number of reasons. Firstly, look at what is displayed on the screen of the Streak:
Nothing / Screen is blank: This could be a sign of a corrupted fastboot image. Download streakflash.zip from the Downloads section and use the version of QDLTool it contains to reinstall the base images. You can then retry using QDLTool from repairtool.zip
Black screen, says “DT is in FASTBOOT_MODE”: This can be the sign of a driver issue – Try reloading the Fastboot/ADB drivers
White screen, says “FASTBOOT_MODE”: Go through the process again, this time using a different USB port.

Nandroid restore of streakdroid 1.6.0 successful.
I've been trying to upgrade to the more recent versions, but none of them (at least in my case) are as stable as 1.6.0.
1.6.1 with it's builtin perfmod is unstable.
Both 1.7.x and 1.8.1 are stable, but they suffer from the wifi/3g problem. Both wifi and 3g work, but I usually have to reboot to switch from one to the other, which is a hassle.
Yes, I've tried factory resets on all of them, but eventually, I either have random reboots, or FC's galore.
I know other people have gotten 1.6.1, 1.7.x, and 1.8.x to run stable, but I've had no such luck.
So for now, I'm sticking with 1.6.0 ( I get quadrant scores in the 1600-1700 range, which is pretty good).
Anyway, thanks again for all your help.
Hi
Tried to flash a new kernel and all seemed ok (flashed phones and nexus 7 few times now) when I came out of flashing I hit a bootloop, I though nothing of it and tried to restart....same issue, so next I tried to go into cw recovery, no joy, it will not show again.
I can power/vol keys to android fastboot screen with start power restart boot and so on but if I choose recovery nothing happens, I am stuck with either a bootloop or stuck on android fastboot screen and not able to move from either.
I have tried the toolkit and most other things but the problem is it cannot see my nexus 7, even after installing drivers and so on the toolkit (top right) does not list my nexus as found, because of this I cannot reflash any stock firmware/recover/reflash cwr.
Not sure how I can get around this if my pc cannot see the nexus 7.
Thanks for any help

Hi
I cannot flash anything. On the fastboot screen I can scroll up and down powr off/start/recovery....if I choose any (apart from power off) nothing happens.
When I hook it up to my pc it cannot see it, nexus 7 toolkit also cannot see it, it does not list it as found so I cannot flash anything on to it, if I try it just says waiting for device, tried other things and same thing either waiting for device or asks if fastboot installed.

Thanks....but still get waiting for device, thats the problem, nothing seems to see it so I cannot flash anything to it.
You are already at the bootloader screen. Use your computer to fastboot flash a new kernel. Being able to get into recovery has nothing to do with it. You screwed it up flashing a kernel. Its likely thats all you need to fix it. Flash a new one with fastboot.

How did you get it to work? I have problem getting my device to be recognized. Stuck on boot loop too..
Hey man, how did you get your computer to recognize your device? Would be great to finally fix mine as this is the same exact problem -- computer doesn't recognize it even though in fastboot.

I don't understand exactly what you are trying to do, sorry: you said the pc does not see the nexus, "even thought in fastboot".. If you say even thought, it seems to me that you are able to access Android itself or maybe recovery? In that case I can't see the issue.. Sorry my fault, non english mother tongue
But, if have the device soft bricked and you are able to enter ONLY the bootloader (that is what we call often fastboot), then you should start to remove the not working fastboot drivers installed into your PC: launch the nexus in fastboot mode, go to Device Manager into your PC and search for a driver with an yellow exclamation point. This issue is very common so I hope that you have it, too.. So, uninstall that driver, then unlink the nexus from your PC; after a few seconds attach it to another USB port and see if Windows install a driver (it should). If this new driver doesn't work, too, or if Windows does no install any, try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426502
Hope it helps, let us know, see you!
EDIT: also, if you still have no luck, you should find a Linux or Mac PC/laptop and download the adb/fastboot binary files for that OS; this will definitively solve your driver issue ( @#ò#@!"@# Winzozz )

Hi sorry for not being clear. Basically I am only allowed to access the bootloader and my device is soft-bricked. I'm pretty sure I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers about a year ago when I originally did it, but I'll try again and let you know. Thanks!
Any help is appreciated! First some background:
Flashed device to stock using KK 4.4 version d80020c following steps found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476. Successfully rooted using directions (and ioroot25) found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKuedInhdjU&noredirect=1.
Here's where I got into trouble...Downloaded TWRP 2.7 recovery img and flashed via Flashify. Since this step, my D800 has the exact same symptoms found on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142.
- No download mode (tried many times)
- No recovery (tried many times also)
- Secure booting error
- LG detected as qhsusb_bulk in device manager
- Device is recognized as 15 different drives, one of which contains a folder named image with 79 different files being .B0X files and Microsoft Access Add-in Data files
- Upon restarting, LG logo with secure booting error, then the screen goes black while your phone is still on
I've followed the steps in the thread that matches my G2's symptoms, run ubuntu 13.1 in VM, apply usb filters for my device which is then recognized as either LG Electonics Inc. QHUSB_BULK or Unknown Device 05C6:9006 when running in VM.
Upon running command ls /dev/sd* in VM Ubuntu Terminal, all that is returned is /dev/sda /dev/sda1 /dev/sda2 /dev/sda5 which are the partitions for Ubuntu, no LG.
I've tried to download and update the Qualcomm drivers, device manager tells me that the drivers were recognized, but cannot be installed and do not pass the hash check (Note: PC is running Windows 8.1).
I've spent over 12 hours on this trying to fix this problem, researched and searched everywhere. If I could get ubuntu to recognize the device, I would be able to continue on with the instructions on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142.
Links for windows 8 qualcomm drivers, suggestions on how to get the device recognized in ubuntu vm, experiences from others in similar situation, or any with experience working with LG to get a repair done if I'm SOL (as in eMMC is fried) would be so helpful right now.
Thank you all!
After flashing recovery did you flash a patched kernel to boot stock kk?
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
I had the same, also with a lot of drives etc.
Screen is black but low backlighted?
Then try with pluged USB Cabel in Phone, hold Power button until screen is realy off, then hold the Power Up Button and plug Cabel into PC.
So I got download mode after I tryed many times
I had problems a few weeks ago getting mine to go into Download mode... turned out that the cable I was using was great for charging, but sucked for everything else. Once I switched to a different cable things worked fine and I was able to load D80010c on the device.
I was running D80020c this morning (with the D80010c boot.img to have a custom recovery) and decided to do an update. Since you can't load D80020k if you have the older bootloader I went all the way back to D80010c, updated to D80010o, D80010q, D80020c and finally D80020k. I was able to root that using IOroot and have restored everything back onto my phone.

Thanks so much for the responses! I've tried endlessly to get the device into download mode, and tried a new cable to no avail. Any other suggestions?
The URL you've linked to will help you solve your problem.
So once you power off your device, hold volume down and power till the lg logo shows, then release shortly and hold them again together till the white window with "factory reset appears", you should notice a text behind the white screen it's fine. So right now when you think it's gonna enter recovery mode the screen is gray(not black), now you connect your device to your ubuntu or whichever linux. You will notice the screen repeatelly blinking when linux is trying to automount the partitions. Figure out which device it is according to the messages it throws. (sdc, sdb, sdX)
This way you should proceed according to the instructions on the thread you linked.
d800 partitions are here

Thanks for your advice.
I got the white screen asking whether or not I want to perform a factory reset. If I choose No, the phone sends me right to the LG Logo with the error screen. If I choose Yes, it does the same thing. If I plug my phone into my computer while on the white screen asking if I want to perform a factory reset, the device isn't recognized and the PC doesn't see it as plugged in or mounted. I'm not sure what you mean by the timing of when I should try to plug in my device. Thanks again for all your help.

As soon as in the background of the white menu (factory reset) the secure boot appear plug it in. I'm not sure how much usb filter helps you(maybe it does) but try installing ubuntu over WUBI installer so your win remains. Or at least try ubuntu from usb stick. So you can know for sure if it's working.

you are not alone dude. i had the same issue since sunday and i have spent almost 46 hours already trying to restore my LG G2 F320S korean model.
i followed that instruction in linux, everything went well but then I ended up with a phone not going past the LG logo. the screen no longer dims like how it used to with the secure boot fail error. again, it stucked at the LG logo and thats it.
pressing the 3 buttons though for 5 seconds shows a white screen with 3 options and a bar code under.
but all of these options will just take me back to the LG logo.
I went to a phone technician today, and they said the doing a JTAG fix is the only way to resolve the problem because after trying to fix it with linux, it is no longer identified by my PC.
what are your solutions so far?
anyways before this issue came up, i tried to flash TWRP using flashify, it failed. then went back up. tried to update the OS via OTA then thats it.
i home someone could help us out.

So I intstalled the WP10 preview which includes support for the 520, but the settings app didn't work and I couldn't reset the device so I used the Windows Phone Recovery Tool to revert to 8.1. However, as the firmware was about to install, the device went into flash mode (as it does while installing a firmware) and an error dialgue opened on my laptop saying that there was an error. After that my phone's screen went black and its not vibrating or powering on even when connected to a power source. I doubt that it is restorable, but any help would be much appreciated
Thank you guys for letting me know about the link I'm posting it in the OP so that everyone having this issue can upvote on that thread.

I've just got the exact same error and I've spent the last hours trying everything possible and every tutorial to make it work. I'm afraid it's completely bricked. It's not responding to anything, when plugged into the pc it shows up as "QHSUSB_DLOAD" which is usually a very bad sign, and every software recovery or phone recovery tool I've tried from MS and Nokia either don't detect it or say it's not supported.
It's dead.
520? :/ Same here. Time to get a new phone for school, I guess.
Yes, a 520 as well.
Just a heads up, if you give the windows phone subreddit a quick read you'll notice we are not the only people to have this issue. Apparently several other people trying to roll back their phone have it completely bricked and in the QHSUSB_DLOAD situation.
I don't think MS can do anything about it, since the boot crapped out you either need to buy the tools or get it repaired by someone having them, but at least it proves there is some kind of problem with rolling back from the preview.

After a bit of reading more and more people are reporting this, so please put your own experience on this technet thread, it's a good idea to centralize reports where Microsoft can see it.
I can't link it here (don't have the permission to post links yet) but it's the first result by typing "Lumia 620 bricked during rollback procedure: recovery possible?" in google.

[QRCODE][/QRCODE]The same problem with L520. There is already post on Technet regarding this problem
You can search Google by typing in: QHSUSB_DLOAD technet
Please upvote, then we would have some respond from Microsoft, maybe alternative driver, tool or something...

Here it is:
1: Find your Recovery Tool folder on your harddisk. Mine is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Care Suite\Windows Phone Recovery Tool"
There should be a file called thor2.exe there.
2: Open an administrator command prompt here
3: Find the ROM Recovery Tool downloaded. Should be in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Packages\Products"
You will need the FFU file for your device.
Mine is "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Packages\Products\rm-914\RM914_3058.50000.1425.0005_RETAIL_eu_hungary_429_05_443088_prd_signed.ffu"
4: To flash your device with THOR2, enter this to commandline:
Code:
thor2 -mode uefiflash -ffufile "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Packages\Products\rm-914\RM914_3058.50000.1425.0005_RETAIL_eu_hungary_429_05_443088_prd_signed.ffu"
Replace filename with your own
5: After flashing completes, reboot your phone by entering this:
Code:
thor2 -mode rnd -bootnormalmode
Click to collapse
It says this error:
THOR2 1.8.2.14 exited with error code 393220 <0x60004>

The solution seems to do a JTAG... Bad news for normal people ::crying:
Bricked Nokia Lumia
Actually, the red screen means that the phone went into its UEFI MODE.
In UEFI MODE your phone could be restored as normal by a HARD RESET (see key combo).
If you have a hard luck, your phone will automatically start in Flashing Mode (IMO(0x0000001)) which only works on the downloading procedure when on Rolling back.
The RollBack program has to put your phone in Flashing Mode in order to gain access to it's microchip.
Well the app itself knows what to do, but something failed.
In this point, you disconnected the phone and tried all you've known to power it on. Meanwhile the app deleted it's cache file, it no longer knows why your phone is in that state and your PC will get it as QHSUSB_DLOAD which is a Side_Load driver for Qualcomm Enabled Phones.
At this point, RIFF JTAG is the only solution as your BOOTLOADER is dead.
Good thing? It could be fixed by any GSM Service and the price could be small.
DO NOT try any Nokia Care / Refurbish / Restore app. All of them are created to work with a phone that has it's bootloader working.
None of them will cooperate to reflash it.
Even if you manage to reflash the OS, you don't have a BIOS / BootLoader....
Hopefully, Microsoft will create a tool to fix this as it only occurs when Rolling Back from Windows 10 Tech. Prev. and 8.1 to 8.
But until that, your phone is dead.

Was hoping anyone could give me some direction after I tried to root and unlock my V995 using the DirtySanta steps. I got to the part where you are to execute "Step3.bat". I received the message below which is how I figured out I didn't have the fastboot drivers.
(******Sidenote******
If you get message saying <waiting for device> on Step3.bat then you do not have the fastboot drivers installed(you may have the program but not the drivers).
To fix: Go to your device manager while the device is connected in fasboot and right click the item that says Android and select update drivers. Then select from internet. and let it install the drivers then try step3.bat again.
*************).
Afterwards the CMD screen closed out, and now i'm stuck with the unusable screen. Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks in advance guys.
What screen are you stuck on? LG logo?

Actually I got passed that. Now my problem is I can't boot back into the system, just forces me back into TWRP. I'm fairly certain the stock ROM is gone because I was flying through screens too quickly. But I could be wrong.
Any advice?
Are you getting the "no os" messege or just boots you right into TWRP?

Just straight into TWRP. I've tried flashing US996 to no avail. Just staright back into TWRP.
Like this.
Phone powered off> Power phone on> Briefly LG Logo> Red Triangle message> LG Logo> TWRP.
No combination I've tried gets me out from TWRP. I can still get into Fastboot however.
I should say also I got the Secure Start Up message and it rewiped my phone.
That's about when this started.
It seems stuck at this point, and to my knowledge there is no stock Verizon Rom to flash to try to get it unstuck.
Thanks again and any help is appreciated.
Have you tried going into fastboot and reflashing boot1 then starting from step 3 in the rooting guide?

I have, that was actually my first thought. I get past step3.bat and follow TWRP instructions about SuperSU. Once I try to reboot into the system to complete first activation set up it sends me straight into TWRP. I've even just gone straight back into Fastboot to flash boot2.img and sent the ADB command to reboot. Straight back to TWRP.
Honestly my thought is once Secure Start Up wiped the device it did something to the system partition. Only thing against that logic is that it should have booted when I flashed US996. So I'm pretty well scratching my head.
gotta be something so small since you still have os. Wish i had verizon to help you out.. But im on ATT.. I backed up my system but no help to u.
