Hey I got dj05 and love it but I had the Bing browser, so I installed a de-binged browser for DI01 and it works however now there is a grayish gradient inside the address bar. Doesn't.affect the phone in a bad way besides it, just the gradient is annoying. Anybody know if a debinged browser for dj05 exists?
Yes, look for "bugless browser" in this forum. Sorry, can't link directly with the app.

The one I found, I moved to system/app and it didn't show up at all, so I tried the buglesss browser on rom manager via blackhole option and that works but its not debinged
I was looking into it at one point...
Has the bugless browser work as advertised? I switched back to di01 for now, but my run in with it was not very successful. All the xmls I looked through, I didn't see much that would point to why it would render so dark.
Let me know, if it worked I may look into cleaning it up.
Yep. Works great. Just not debinged. But works great on dj05, with no gray area in the address bar
When I asked about this, seems the only thing that would fix it would be a theme.
Head over to the themes section and try one of them, that should fix it.

This is the feeling I had.
-code appeared too identical.
-the render for the bar seemed to ignore some of the xml, especially the bg color call outs. The cornets were rendered square, not rounded.
I'm still going to be running DI01 for now.
I applied a dj05 theme and it still didn't fix the gray address bar.

I love the sprint clock, and I have a great background which looks good. No problem here. The problem is that it breaks the background for all the other pages.
I have tried Nissel's Background4all hack with the mallina files, but the image is 256x256 and get streatched, and looks quite bad. Is there no way we can get it to work properly (even if the background is the same on all pages?)

the way it is now, you can't have both the sprint clock and all tab BG, pick one or the other. keep and eye on muns manila tweaks thread. hopefully it will be solved soon, but it has been a while so don't hold your breath.
I'm looking at some fascinate screenshots and notice some people have a black notification bar. Is there a setting somewhere for this that I'm just not seeing?

No setting. It is usually a theme that is being used. You will need to be rooted and deodexed to use a theme. There are some in the theme forum that will work for you once you are.
If CyanogenMod is ever ported over then there are settings built in to that ROM that can be used to accomplish this.

What if I wanted to darken the neon blue that you see on the loading popup messages? Could I do this easily myself?
There's a couple of themes that will do it. I use the Frost Remix NexTheme. Good ****.
Oh yeah I definitely know about themes (had about 15 different ones on my droid lol), but I thought these were stock screenshots because everything looked the same except the notification bar.
I installed LauncherPro on my S7, but I would like to figure out how to change the notification bar to something more like the stock one. I like the way the notification bar works on my Epic 4G, but I haven't figured out how to do this on the S7.
Anyone know how to accomplish this?

check the bottom of the tutorial
Code your own rom for the S7.
The notification bar is the way it is and without re-writing the OS, you're not going to be able to change it.
I find that tapping to drop it down works better than sliding. It was really painful on my other resistive Android tablet.
I did follow the instructions from the post. My expectation of that was that I would have the normal notification bar. However, that isn't the case.
I'm not really into making a custom ROM for the notification bar. The funny thing is that now that I've used the stock notification bar, I'm getting used to it. The back button at the left side of the bar is actually pretty nice to use. As I'm an old Palm/Pocket PC/Windows Mobile guy, I like using a stylus and the back arrow is actually OK. I just think that the thing is too big.
Thanks,
So just curious but with EB01/Froyo i have noticed that when the battery is fully charged you get a notification in the top left saying 100%.....when there is already one on the right amongst all the other icons. Can the Froyo one be gotten rid of. I could have sworn to go there was a post about it but i can't find it.
Unplug?

I'm not sure if this is the thread you were referring to or not, but check the development section for a thread by ChrisDDD called-Accurate battery and deBinged browser
And sorry for not having the link, but I'm on my phone.

can't you just delete it
I wouldn't even know where to start to delete it. The accurate battery mod link u refer too only changes the one to the right the other one is there somehow. I use the desk clock so its annoying to see 100% on both the right and left. I'm nitpicking but it really doesn't make sense.
I'm convinced that there is a developer at Samsung who has that job of being annoying. This is one of his creations. One of the reasons that I will avoid Samsung in the future.
If you add a goofy pop up like that full charge one, then add a setting to disable it, or realize that you are an idiot at developing code. Maybe he/she should go back to sweeping floors.
A great piece of hardware held back by mediocre software.
I had the same problem I just flash a theme fix it!
If you are running Launcherpro or something can you still theme and how. So i tried installing a gingerbread keyboard with a EPIC FAIL. So what is the method for installing a theme. Download reboot and install via CWM?
The icon that pops up on the left when the battery gets to 100% goes away as soon a you unplug the charger. Not sure how to disable it.
I do agree is pretty stupid. They went through all the trouble of adding a specific, REDUNDANT battery icon there, but no one thought of just making the existing icon on the right show the percent. It's actually the exact reason I went about making my modified framework to add the percent - there were apps to add a battery icon with percent to the notification bar, but I just couldn't stand having two battery icons up there.

You certainly can install a theme with any launcher. Just download a theme for whatever version you're running (DL09, EB01, etc) then boot into CWR and flash it. That's it.

NOTE: Do Not Apply this mod for Alpha 3, it screws up the status bar. You have been warned. I will see if i can recompile it for Alpha 3, makes it tougher without sources.
Initially i did this mod for my I9000 which was running CM7.1 and i was only seeing carrier numbers instead of names. I have ported this to CM7.1 for HP touchpad. Flash this file in cwm recovery.
When booted up you should see an additional setting in cyanogenmod settings called CustomSettings, tap that to open custom carrier text, tap that and enter whatever you want to show on the lockscreen and notification bar. Press done.
Install the attached notificationrestart.apk and open it, give it root access, press restart and wait for the notification bar to restart. This is to avoid restart of the tablet before you see the new settings apply. Voila, you should see what you put in the custom name. Have fun and hit the thanks button if you like it. Cheers.
If for some reason your status bar looks wonky after a while use this to get back to original stuff. I changed the dpi to 182 using nitrality app and the wonkiness seems to be gone. I am using iKandee theme from market.

I'll give this a shot. Is there an option (perhaps in the future) to place a .png file where the carrier text is? Similar to MIUI? Just curious.
Ok. dl'ing now. I'll report back.
EDIT: It works! My only issues
A) The notificationrestart.apk installed, but didn't seem to do anything. I didn't notice the change until after I rebooted the device.
B) I'm now seeing the 3G bar in the corner (see the image). Is there a way to keep the custom text, but not show the signal bars?

May be. I will look into it at a later time, no promises. If the status bar gets wonky, set dpi to 182 and see if it happens. For me its perfect at 182 (which is what my phone is it)

For now no. once cm team publishes source I will recompile with that.that well solve these issues. Did you run the notification restart app? I had to wipe data of that apk using titanium backup and it worked fine after that. 182 dpi works fine. Anything less than that status bar gets wonky.

I attempted, but it did not run. Did not ask for root privileges either. I simply rebooted and it showed the text change.

Ya, once you wipe data using titanium back up it will ask for root privileges. Not sure why. 182 and higher dpi works fine.

screen shots are from my phone which runs Insanity Rom and its theme.
The screenshot that I posted is in fact my TP. I'm using the Transformer theme from HERE. It ties in with CM's ThemeChanger. It'll notify you that it's not meant for your device, just do it. As you can see it works fine.

thank u sir!
@krarvind
thanks for this! no issues on my TP so far.
as a little test i flashed this to my T-MoUS HD2 Leo since i could never find a way to set a custom carrier label.
it works great on there as well - with one side effect on the lockscreen. any chance this can be fixed? i just did it on a whim since it's cm7 i figured it couldn't do to much damage. no problems on the status bar, just the lock screen.
i know it wasn't built for this device so don't answer if you don't want to
the top near my label shows a graphic from i don't know where.

I have no idea where that comes from and i don't have your device, so i can't really fix it i think. if you want to roll back, all you need to do is open up my zip files and replace the app and framework files with the ones from the rom for your phone ( not from your phone as it has mine now).
Cheers
For some reason whenever i try to boot a custom carrier label my Touchpad never boots up... it just hangs on the cyanogen mod boot animation and requires a hard reset... followed the instructions perfectly. anyone have the same issue?
after some messing around i got it to boot up for me. then the notification bar went "wonky" used the nitrality app to adjust the dpi. works fine. what is the default dpi again?....

No idea why you have these issues. dpi is 182. Anything above that works fine. Remember I don't have the sources to compile it for touchpad, so I did my best to get it
working

Screwed up my notification bar, the resolution is way off and battery percentage is gone. Cyanogenmod won't let me add it either?? The OriginalLabel.zip doesn't have battery percentage either for some reason. Guess I'll do a restore in Recovery. Thanks for trying though.
