Hi,
I go into bluetooth and search for my devices on my Omnia 7 but it seems to be stuck on Searching when I try and search for my MW600. Anyone experienced anything similar?
So far I have tried it with a couple of different headphones from SE and Plantronics but still no joy...
Jag har precis samma problem som dig med samma headset plus att min hörlursingÄng verkar glappa
Exactly the same problem, bluetooth worked for about a month but the quality was terrible. As time went by it got harder to pair with the car and now it just sits there searching...
I have the same issue, struggling with a lot of Bluetooth problems at the moment. I also have a MW600!
I can get it to pair with the MW600 if I turn WiFi off. After pairing it seems to work fine with WiFi back on.
With various power cycles, entering and leaving flight mode etc. I can get it to see some devices. Can't get it to pair with my car kit though no matter what I do, and that's the only thing I really want to pair it with.
It seems to be a common issue with Samsung Omnia 7s and Focuses. There is a blog post that google finds where a guy took his phone back and swapped it for another one, which then worked with all the devices his original didn't. One of the commentors then declared that upgrading the firmware to JK1 also sorted the issue. I promptly did this, voiding any chance I had of taking the device back to get a new one. It didn't work, so I'm stuck. The commentor has since come back and said it didn't fix the issue. Thanks for that .
I have an MW600 and I use it with no problems at all. Works perfectly. I have it paired with both my Samsung Omnia 7 and my old Sony Ericsson W610i.
The first pairing took me a while (some pairing codes blah blah), but after that, it's been really smooth. Just switch on bluetooth and the MW600 and they are automatically connected.
Of course, the song name etc does not show up on MW600's display -- I think that's restricted to Sony phone (my old W610i does that perfectly!).
Hope this helps.
I believe based on other peoples experiences there is a Bluetooth hardware problem with early examples of the Omnia 7. You probably have a later one where everything is fixed.
Oh and the reason the MW600's display doesn't show any info is because WP7 only supports version 1.0 of the AVRCP profile, so track info is not transmitted. I've used the MW600 with my old HTC Diamond and Touch Pro2 and got the track info to display. I'm hoping the profile will be updated by Microsoft at some point.

Well, I brought it to the Carphone Warehouse who are the service agents for Samsung and guess what , they cannot send it back for repair because they have no "PLU" in their system for this model citing that they do not offer it in their catalogue. They have told me this 2 weeks after I left in in with them. Now, I have got to get it back from them and send to Samsung myself. Like others here I must have an early model because it is doing the same things, sometimes connecting to my Parrot MiniSlim kit and sometimes not. I bought a 16GB version from Germany because I wanted an unbranded and unlocked version with this amount of memory.

Hi All,
I have been reading a lot of messages on both 8525 and 8125 trying to isolate the issue and there doesn't seem to be a straight asnwer anywhere and hence I am trying to get the attention of the users here...
I have a pioneer navigation system with a bluetooth built-in. My previous phone (blackberry) and my wife's treo650 both stay connected with car's bluetooth when on call (never a disconnect). But my new 8525 gets disconnected mid-call (usually after 2 to 5mins, but have also seen a disconnect within 1min). That is, it does pair with the car kit and when there is no call going on, the bluetooth connection never dies. This disconnect only happens mid-call, almost all the times.
I have the latest ROM (1,34.502...., radio: 1.16), got the phone about 2 weeks ago from Amazon.com. Called cingular and they say could be faulty phone and I have searched other forums like audi message board where their car kits are also having the same disconnect problem with 8525, so I doubt this is a single phone issue.
I have taken the 'band' hack and forced the phone to be in either GSM or WCDMA mode and in either modes, the phone still exhibits the same problem (there might not be any connection between the two at all, bluetooth with GSM/WCDMA, but thought there might be some weird connection...but not the case thankfully).
I read somewhere about some bluetooth tweaks on 8125, but never found what those were. I need some help here otherwise I am going to return the 8525 and stay away from it. I need the bluetooth to work efficiently.
thanks for all your help

please help
I really need some help, clue or direction on solving or at least isolating this bluetooth issue. I love the 8525 but if I cannot fix this bluetooth mid-call disconnect issue, I will unfortunately have to return, which I don't want.
What headsets the 8525 works fine with (no drops mid-call)? May be that is a starting point.
Please also give me some links to 8125 tweaks that some talked about? pof/other moderators/anyone?
thanks a lot in advance!!

I have an Motorola H700, and every once in a while it will disconnect, looking at the phone after that, BT is turned off, turn it back on and it works again...
There are problems with the hardware and the API used to access it, good phone, but I don't think it was ready for the market yet when they released it. It is likely to be corrected in the next ROM release, last I heard from Cingular is mid 2007, but by the way things go, prolly around late 07/early 08.
I'm having similar issues with the BT headset I use, which is a Samsung WEP150. It'll drop midcall to the handset. I'll look and BT is turned off.
The only remote correllation I've found is that it seems to occur when I've received a new email or something a la ActiveStink.. And I haven't really been able to confirm that... But I have definitely noticed it happening then though.
my 8525 does this as well with my factory BT in my 05 Acura TL. Kind of frustrating, have not been able to figure it out yet.
Problems w/ Audi BT as well
Same issues with my Audi Q7 BT. I have seen posts in this and other forums blaming the MS bluetooth stack.
My 8525 worked flawlessly with my Garmin NUVI 660, never disconnected or failed to connect automatically. This is frustrating.
8525 Fix
I had the same problem with the 8525 and my Pioneer Avic-Z1 bluetooth kit.
I hacked the registry to force the bluetooth radio to stay ON, rather than going into sleep mode. This seems to have fixed the problem (although with limited testing at this point).
My calls would consistently disconnect with 2-4 minutes. After the hack, I've had 2 45-minute+ conversations with no trouble.
Here's the fix... install a registry editor (like PHMedit), and add a DWORD here:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\ Suspend
Add a DWORD called btl1: (note the colon, the colon must be there), with a DWORD value of 2.
Good luck!
My Q7 as well i took the advice of wolfgram and did this to my phone i will let you know how it works it would be a shame to give up this phone but it is really useless if this feature does not work right.
Well this is what i did i did what wolfgram said and it still cut out but not as much so i took the checks off in the advance power mode and never let the phone go to sleep and it works all the time. HTC needs to upgrade thier bluetooth setting not to go to sleep. It must stay active at all times MY phone book and all other info posted into my Q7 with no issues at all and it even sees the bluetooth b4 the MMI system in the car Boots up..

Resolution I think
I turned off 'Making device discoverable to other devices' and it seems to have solved this problem, I am using the phone with a parrot kit and it kept disconnecting now it works all the time.
Treo 750 doesn't have this problem
Well, hopefully you owners of Hermes have figured out the fix. I had to return it and now got the Treo 750 and can gladly say the problem is not there. The treo 750 has the v1.2, but I guess following the replies here, that possibly Palm fixed the problem by keeping the BT radio on at all times.
In any case, here is the post I wrote in avic411.com forum - if you want to see any follow up responses by other owners..

Bluetooth cut out
I am having the problem too with the garmin Nuvi and the Tytn - which is ineresting seeing as how one poster had no problem with the Garmin device. Here is something else that is interesting - I did not have the problem when I had the HTC 1.18 Rom installed. After I flashed the HTC 1.35 Rom, the problem began. I have already tried upgrading my firmware on the Nuvi - that did not help. I also use a Nokia 800 bluetooth headset - and that never cuts out with either ROM. I will try turning off the bluetooth discovery first. If that does not work, will try editing the registry. Keep you posted.
Turning off bluetooth discovery did not work.
Turning Off Bluetooth Did Not Work For Me Either

Hey guys, has anybody found a solution for the auto turning off of the BT in suspend mode? its gettin really annoying
Does anyone else have a problem with their Bluetooth and HTC touch? I have tried 2 motorola and a LG BT headset and no one can hear me, but I can hear them. I tried pairing and repairing. I deleted it and added it as a new device. I have even tried the BT with another phone and it works with that phone with no problems, so I know it's my phone. I even tried a hard reset. Does anyone have a solutoin to this problem? I have the latest ROM update from HTC's website for a Bell HTC touch. My motorola headset was working fine, but I think after the latest Bell ROM update it stopped. Does anyone else have this problem or can anyone suggest a solution? thanks. paul.
my jawbone did this but my plantanics 510 fine
My jawbone works fine but there's a problem using hands free connection with my '05 range rover. The phone and the truck connect but then the connection is dropped. My buddy has a motorola razor and his phone works great w/my truck. It appears to be my phone that's the problem. Any suggestions on this?
Thanks so much.

What ROM are you running?
I am running the NFSFAN 6.5 rom V11 and have he same issue with a motorola BT headset.
edit: i just noticed that the initial question was about a newer ROM update and bluetooth, but ill leave my initial reply here, cuz i often look for solution in old posts, so if this can help anybody :
NFSFAN 6.5 rom V11 and bluetooth
i dunno, but my bluetooth stuff somehow works with the 6.1 update, if you cant find any working solution within an hour, id suggest using a "well tried and tested" ROM version, like the 6.1
i stopped picking the "latest and greatest" in cars, devices, apps, or O.S. for the last two years, and been living a whole lot happier since.
about my 6.1 bell mobility ROM and bluetooth :
i like to tweak my weapons alot, my htc touch has a 6.1 ROM update, and i use bluetooth everyday, and it KINDA works well, enough for me anyway...
listening to mp3 and flv everyday on the transit,
then switching at work on the audio dongle adaptor on the pc,
using an pair of sonorix bsh-100 ( foldable stereo headset + optional plug-in mike)
to me the thruth is that bluetooth is a ****ty technology, i love it, and it's well taught,
but the developpers quickly code ****ty interfaces to it.
my settings all work from htc touch to dongle, but i often have to connect the touch to the headset like up to 3 times, where it tells me its connected, but isnt, when i hear the beep, it means it actually IS.
same at work, connect sometimes once, twice, even four, it eventually connects.
it's isnt button wear off or bad contact, its just the code is ****.
i rented a SUV that had bluetooth, tried connecting my phone, worked first time, a week later we rented the same SUV model, and for the whole trip i wasnt able to connect at all... back at the rental we tested the SUV with the clerck htc touch ( nice coincidence ) it worked right away.
i want to add here that whenever i try to connect through bluetooth, it usually works the first time.
my point is, bluetooth creators did a fine innovative job, but werent supported by developpers.
test your bluetooth phone alot with friends owning bluetooth accessories, youll detect behaviors after a while, and will learn to know its "demons" !
a bluetooth everyday user
V13 seemed to fix the issue
Just upgraded to V13, seems like BT works a lot better.
A bit on my history with BY, I just upgraded from a motorola V710, had a Moto Q for a few months too. Never had any issues with BT using the same Motorola BT earpiece, and varouis others through the last 5 years or so. Always worked like a champ, this was my first experience with BT issues.
Hi,
I'm havig a very strange problem with my Omnia 7: the bluetooth headsets transmit only noises and/or a "robotic" voice during a call. People on the other side simple can't understand a word a say, although I hear them perfectly. I already tried three different headsets (two bluetooth 2.0 and one older) and the problem is always the same.
Also I noticed that the phone does not find any bluetooth devices if it has wi-fi turned on!
Is anyone experiencing the same problems? Any thoughts on this subject would be very much appreciated. Thanks
Ricardo
I dont know for your problem but I am facing bluetooth issue too...
I am not able to connect it to my car kit (Parot) ... I never had any problem with my preivous phones (HTC HD2, Desire, ...)
I am having exactly the same problem - and have upgraded to official Mango version.. Buetooth Audio is just not working at all. Did you guys ever solve this?

I had same problem with mine , it wouldnt connect to my Parrot minislim car kit. It was sent abck to Samsubg in UK and they replaced the board and now all works fine. I knew the replaced the board because when i git it back it had only 8GB memory; had to send it back a second time to get it changed to 16GB version. So, get on to Samsung and have that board changed!!
Mango update has broken my bluetooth
Thought I'd add my woes to this thread.
On t-mobile uk, omnia 7.
Got bored waiting for official mango so unbranded the phone and updated. All worked fine.
However bluetooth now wont connect to my car! BMW. (will find other peoples bluetooth phones etc.) This was working fine before the update.
Is the bluetooth a product of the firmware revision which is now 2424.11.8.5
or something else?
Is there going to be samsung specific stuff come out? and how does one get it?
Or whould i go back to t-mobile build (anyone know where to get this?) and wait for official update??!
Cheers

as i posted in the other thread, just me being a numpty. dleting phone from car and readding was what was needed!!
HI, recently moved from iPhone4 to the Arc and love every bit of it...except the bluetooh pairing with my car's (Audi Q7 2G MMI) handsfree.
Pairing is intermittent and even when it's paired, the connection seems to drop off within seconds.
Does anyone else have the same problem especially with Audis?
Generally, they do that until the phone book transfers across - i know that's the case for the RNS-E. I have a RS4, did it all the time when I first got it with my Blackberry (had 2500 contacts). Just leave the car on accessory with the phone in the garage. I couldn't stand the dong noise everytime it connected disconnected.
Could be worse, I just got the AT&T branded Samsung Focus, it won't even connect with the bluetooth in my Audi or my wife's RR.

Thanks for the reply mate. When I did manage to pair them up, I could see all my contacts on the MMI's display previously. It's only recently that thsi connect/disconnect issue happened and it has certainly gotten worse today where I couldn't even hold a pair for more than 5 seconds.....
In that case - no idea.
Try deleting it on the phone and pairing again? Seems like a strange one.

Did that as well. Tried restarting, deleting and repairing - still no joy.
may have to flash my phone and try again as a last resort....sigh...
have you tried contacting Audi to see if there is a firmware update for the car?
There is a chance even of the car is brand new the software version the phone\ stereo system is using is a few years old.
Just a thought.

hey thanks for the reply. Yeah thought about that too and that's an avenue which i may explore with audi.
having said that, the condition has improved somewhat...it's still intermittent but at leeast it's now 'stickier'. What I did was I uninstalled the last 5 applications that I put in prior to the this happening and it worked.
No idea why.
Dear community,
Having read, that the Sony Ericson Bluetooth Headphone (MW600) works with a Samsung Omnia7, I finally bought one.
But: When I try to connect/interlink these to devices nothing happens. My beloved Omnia7 only stays in "searching mode", finding no other Bluethooth sources.
I know that in august last year, it found at least my older Cellphone (but couldnt connect), but now it doesn't detect anything.
What can I do?
OS: Mango 7.10 (7740)
Diagnosis:
PDA I8700XXKI4
Phone: KI1
CSC: KI4
Bluetooth S/W: 0.0.1
Bluetooth H/W: 0.0.1
Bluetooth Mac: 7847 (and so on)
try updating to 8107 and check again
Hey Blaster,
thanks for the reply. I updated today (TMobile-Germany just offered Update to 8107 this morning). But unfotunately nothing happened. I'm going to contact the TMobile Customer-Service. Maybe it is a hardware issue.

so, looks like nobody knows if the problem is related to the hard- or to the software...

what happens to bluetooth is not really clear, my phone was T-mob de too but (fortunately) mine works and pairs with my headphones, the only problem i have is, when playing a video i hear the sound through back speaker, and still remains with 8107 update
@ DJ: I've read in other forums (not sure, it might even be the answer.microsoft-forum) that this is a general WP7-issue.
I'd glad, if only I could listen to music via BT.
I don't think it's hardware failure... rather incompatability.
My 1st Omnia worked perfectly until Mango. After I updated it my data connection stopped working right as did my Bluetooth. It was the same on 7720 and 7740.
My replacement Omnia on 7740 works fine... It seems odd that hardware would fail exactly at the time I updated it. My sisters Omnia (also purchased at the same time) also had the same problems after the Mango update.
I suspect Samsung changed components (as with the rev 1.4 focus) but didn't announce it and these variations are causing problems with the firmware.
This is just my opinion however.
Turn the wifi off, that worked for me and Nokia BH-111.
It was stuck in "searching..". After i turned the wifi off, it found he headset instantly. problem is, now i can't use bluetootha dn wifi at the same time, ff/rewind doe not work and playback is a bit patchy. i believe i've read it's a hardware related problem and i will try to score a replacement.
turning WiFi off, didn't work for my Omnia7.
I even bought a Samsung HS3000 BT-Headphone, for the samsung-customer service guaranteed compatibilty, but nothing changed. Bluetooth ist still "searching".
Going to replace it as well.
me too
this seems to be a big problem with the omnia 7, as both myself and someone i work with have the same problem. supposedly (not sure of the authenticity of this one, so please take with a pinch of salt) the omnia 7 was designed to only speak to other omnia 7's for some reason, as if samsung thought bluetooth file sharing was gonna be possible with wp7. seems vaguely (only vaguely) plausible, but just thought i would add my tuppence.
same
i have motorola s9 bluetooth stereo headset, and worked since nokia n95, throught varius wm (htc samsung sony ericcson) phones, and android too... now with omnia 7 was not working well, but when i disabled wifi started to work again... i don't now why, and i've not tried bluetooth and wifi at the same time with other devices (i use bluetooth only on car and when i go running)... is it normal?
No, normally WiFi shouldn't interfere with BT as far as I know- but this seems to be common with the Omnia7.
@chrisrobinson: The Samsung support guaranteed, that Omnia7s work with their HS3000. Accordingly the Omnia7 should speak with other devices than other Omnia7s. But mine doesn't.

Mine was slightly different. It only worked when WiFi was turned ON. It didn't work if WiFi was OFF.
something happend a few days ago. Since than, the "alphabetic character-tiles" on the screen with the list of all the installed apps appear like "border in theme-colour, background in beackgroundcolour, character in theme-colour". . . and:
even my bluetooth started working again (only if wifi off, ... of course).
It now finds my MW600 Stereo Headset. And connection is established.
BUT: I can't listen to music. I can read the title of the mp3 on the headsets display, turn volume loud on both devices, but no sound at all. hmm
I've given up on my BH-111.
The headset works fine with my laptop and nokia 5230 and nokia n97, but not omnia. Too bad, would have been nice for running and such.
