I Think The Next Buildnumber To X10i Is.. - XPERIA X10 General

I think the next buildnumber to X10i is "2.0.1.A.0.47"
Sony Ericsson has started slowly and roll a new update for X8, namely 2.1
The buildnumber are 2.0.1.A.0.47, and registered d 17th November on http://www.ptcrb.com..
Same day, it has been registered for X10 (2.0.1.A.0.47)..
So I guess it's the next update to X10 and believe it will soon be here in December..
Know nothing with safe, only a theory

I don't know what the number is all about....but Rikard stated himself that the next update wouldn't be available until Q1 2011. Unless they plan to surprise us lol. But I wouldn't get all worked up for something in dec

No one can, it's just the latest update instructions. It even mentions as a new feature what we got with one of the recent updates: integrated backup.
Most likely, it's 2.1 updrade. It's rediculous to announce 2.2 update before 2.1 is released.
Froyo was never mentioned anywhere in that post on the SE product blog. Also, that was posted sometime in June 2010.
for those who havent seen it yet (which is almost impossible.. lol)

Where did this go

This is a old news cutting but what happened to the wireless tv link ?
" Sony Ericsson have also took the opportunity to point out some updates for the X10, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro. They tell us that all three devices will received the Android 2.1 upgrade "in Q3 2010", although their blog seems to state "Q4". But wait, the big news for X10 owners is that...
"Xperia™ X10’s position will also be further strengthened through the addition of HD video recording as part of the same Q3 upgrade. A further upgrade to the Xperia™ X10 in Q4 will make it possible to connect and display wirelessly content on your television and enhance the Timescape™ and Mediascape applications."
Aha ! Great news for X10 owners! "
That second update us now due out in q1 next year.. Final specs tba.

Sony Ericsson committed to Android [ROFL]

When asked about the problem of rolling out new versions of Android to its handsets, Walker said he believed that this wasn't an important issue for most consumers, but recognized that it was a concern for more "spec savvy" customers"

Crazy idea for profit

I don't think so.
But will wait for someone that have tested this to tell.
Most likely just a few little updates, or Sony Ericsson is really surprising me.

Something is going on, so just wanted to share with U and give (back) some hope:

"We have been having a lot of questions regarding the update for our 2011 Xperia™ phones to the new Android 2.3.4 version. And we are happy to tell you that today we announced that the 2.3.4 version of Gingerbread platform for all the 2011 Xperia™ Smartphones will start the roll out during October at select markets."
Let's hope for the best!
Cheers,
it is update for 2011 phones such as arc, neo, play, pro,...
X8, X10/mini/pro are listed in the 2010 Xperia phones
...segtawee.....
But our sibling W8 was 2011 phone...

i am using a W8.... but after i installed Gingerdx... it shows that my model number is X8...
does that means i will not be getting the update ?
well... i prefer Dx's custom ROM better... more updates than the SE
i dont believe that the w8 will get the update..it is practically not a smartphone..and guys be realistic if the x8(or w8) havent gotten froyo how it is possible that we will get 2.3.4?just be happy for the devs here in xda
@innovator84:
Open the build.prop in a text editor, change every "X8" to W8" and then reboot and have a look at settings-about phone again.

i dont see trolling or any trolls in this thread because it located at the general section, no one is being assaulted.
W8 won't get an update, because it isn't a 'Xperia' series phone. It is a 'Walkman' with android system.
Edit: Who cares we don't have 2.3.4? CM 7.1.0-pre is on 2.3.5!

Thanks for the tips... but it doesn't matter anyway...
the W8 is practically a X8 with a walkman logo on it..
Yes you're right, W8 is a X8 with a walkman logo. But W8 isn't a 'Xperia' series phone, so it won't get a update too.
x8 wont be updated to 2.3 because its not a 2011 xperia phone its a 2010 xperia smartphone. and as @samyeung97hk already said the w8 isnt an xperia phone at all its a walkman. its sad but true we wont be getting official 2.3
Well I guess its only the packaging of w8. Its like LG Optimus and its glossy version.

So, w8 OUT @ XPERIA 2011, WHY THAT PHONE DOESN'T GET ANY UPGRADE?? AND I DON'T HEAR ANY NEWS THAT W8 NOT UPGRADEABLE.

It probably won't get an update as the x8 won't get an update. If the W8 gets an update us x8 users should get an update too because W8 firmware is virtually identical to x8 firmware. But SE has mentioned that x8 will not get update so W8 users probably will not get an update.

As I said earlier in this thread, W8 isn't a 'Xperia' series phone. Although it's spec/firmware are the same, it won't get an update either.
Edit: Every Android phones are upgradable if the spec allows/have devs to develop firmware.
