Is it possible to move Help Files (.htm) to the SD Card ??

My help files are taking up quita lot of RAM in my Windows folder - would they still work if placed on SD card, similar to how Memaid moves DLL's ??
I moved all help files to SD card and placed a shortcut of the help folder where it was and it works great.
.....
but why this work? with this solution i gain only 1,2 KB!!!!!!
I tried that... But I can't move all help files in \Windows dir. ( hidden files)
it says.. ROM is protected ( or something like that )
I got around 250 KB free .... not bad I guess...
but if I can remove all help files I'll get around 1 MB
do u have any idea :?:
anybody knows how to delete these read only help files!??
if they're ROM files then they're not taking any room that you can gain back unless you cook your own ROM without them.

wouldn´t I get more storage from the ROM?
not from the ROM - you can't shrink the rom except by making a new rom, which AFAIK isn't possible yet on Magician. Best bet for space is to use cabinst to install all programs to Storage/Storage Card, and use MemMaid etc to move many dlls to Storage, and use BigRom hack for extra space. That'll make you much more than a few k from the HTML files.

Already got bigstorage. MenMaid is worth a look. thx!

cabs in windows dir

I was looking for a exe in the windows dir, when i came across some cabs to panels (SE, mxp etc)
if u delete these it should free up some space.
i cant see it effecting the phone as these are cabs
Am i right?
you can try to move 1 of them to your sd card if you can't they're in the rom and can't be deleted and as such will not free up space even if you cooked a new rom without them

Click to collapse
your right, cant move or delete them. what a waste of space
you can remove their from ROM image file : )
use HTC ROM Image Editor : )
but before make backup of phone )
i remove all cab's )

After NAND can we erase SD card Files???

Hi
Do we need to keep the files on the SD card after we install the Android NAND on the device? Can't we just erase them?
Thank you all
Edit ::
I just realized, that you were talking about the "Your-rom-here.zip" files (right?) and whatnot.
Of course you can remove them, as soon as your rom is installed via cwm, those files are useless.
(Unless you are considering a reflash at a later time)
i personally keep a barebones android rom.zip on my sd because you NEVER know when tradgedy will strike! and with most rom files being <200MB such a small file will be a life saver if something ever goes wrong (something gets deleted by your child, friend, idiot)
NO files arent NECESSARY ... buuuuut ...

[Q] HTC 7 Trophy micro SDXC 64GB. ?

HI people ( first post long time lurker )
I have Flashed my HTC 7 Trophy to WP7.8 using this Rom & gold card method to downgrade my boot loader
htc tropy WP7.8 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523976 No issues so far ( thanks for a great ROM )
for the last year i upgraded my trophy to 16GB then 32GB,
i have searched the forms but i could only find out info about some android phones and a couple of other Windows phones,
So my question is Has any one successfully used a Micro SDXC 64GB card to work in the HTC 7 Trophy ?
sorry if its already been asked i could not find any answers,
thanks in advance
Edit
i also found a tool to unlock the memory card and i can confirm it works on the linked firmware ( download should be clean i uploaded it ) i would link the origonal source ect but cant remember were i found it ( but will say thanks to the creator ect ) and i take no credit for this software
its called storage lock and you use WP7-Update-Cab-Sender to install it ( storage lock CAB included in winrar archive )
File dropper link ( http://www.filedropper.com/wp7-update-cab-sender )
Sky drive link from my personal storage ( https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=D9C084C372E42CA0!753 )
instructions on using software
1- Extract WP7-Update-Cab-Sender folder
2- Open folder named 1
3- Open x86 or x64 folder depending what bit OS you are using and run setup
3- ( optional ) i did this just in case, extract DEV_STORAGELOCK.cab ( i dont think you need to do it but i did any way )
4- Run WP7 Update Cab Sender.bat once running press B to backup your phone and send the unlock package to your phone ( when it restarts your phone you may need yo manually turn it on to start the backup )
5- on your WP select storage lock and there you go unlocked memory card
6- to format memory card on pc download & run MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition ( free ) delete both partitions on memory card and create new one then format ( rescued WP7 memory card ) it should show 2 partitions one being about 200MB in size
You do this at your own risk i take no responsibility if you brick your phone
