Hi there, I just got my milestone 2 today, and just wanted to check if I can simply install US software, ROM's etc.
Had a quick look in the relevant titled threads and the suggested ones before making this thread, but nothing came up, so sorry if this is the bazillionth time somebodies asked.

I post a message asking if there will be a dedicated forum for Milestone 2.
It is not clear for me if the Droid 2 firmware and mods can be used on Milestone 2.
At the moment I know that Z4root and Droid 2 Bootstrap work on Milestone 2.
I am considering buying this device for my wife, and also am interested in the answer.

+1 - I'm in agreement. We need separate sections for Droid 2, Droid 2 Global, and Milestone 2 to avoid confusion, and the potential to brick devices by flashing the wrong stuff to the wrong device.

Hi, try to play some multi touch game like Nova or Sandstom to see if you have a problem with the multi touch or not. Mine and my girl friend's both have that problem. I hope this is just a software problem not the hardware. Btw can anyone show me how to contact motorola? I live in Houston. Thanks.

Are u sure? Did you try playing those game ? Multi touch seem working perfectly but just try the games and you will see.

Someone asked if they could use D2 sbf/roms on Milestone2. The answer is no. I tried two D2 roms and failed both times. Sbf is no go without a question (different radio)
Oh and I would also like separate Milestone2 section

I PM'd the mod in charge of such things (so I was informed) but received absolutely no response. I think it's rather rude to completely ignore the request just because the phone isn't released in the US. There are a few Americans working with us on getting this phone more supported in the modding community and since this *is* the largest modding community for such devices the lack of action is really holding things back.
We have Clockwork Recovery, overclocking *and* an SBF to restore to - let us have some fun with our MS2's!

Umh, I can't say surely if the X10 is made by HTC or not.
In any way, a Motorola Milestone/Droid section on xda-developers would bring some other users here, and it would be of much use even for me: I'm waiting for my Milestone to arrive!
And let's say this clearly. There's a lot of extremely experienced people that can help us to crack the RSA verification in our BootLoader... it's a shame... opensource phone without opensource philosophy.. lol!
So, I'm adding my +1 to the Milestone section... but it's a decision of Administrators whether to include it or not. Maybe if 200+ users will show their interest on a Milestone the admins will change their vision on this and bring an unique place here to discuss about Milestone development & hacking!

If you check the menu "Device by OS or Manufacturer" (in the right top of the screen) you'll see there are a lot more devices at XDA developers than only HTC (Samsung, LG, Acer, Toshiba) so a section for Motorola would be very much appreciated.

I'll say +1 for milestone 2, it is no longer my primary device (i got a desire) however the phone has potential, that is currently locked down to to signed kernal, and no forum big enough for it...
I Xda-Developer forum was meant for only HTC-made devices (including Xperia models) then how come Samsung Galaxy deserved its own forum?

I know I am soo gonna get boo'ed outta here,but i soo wish we had some of these devs at XDA working on some Cliq stuff. Theres already a 2.1 dump for it,but only a couple of people working on it so far. +1 for Motorola Milestone. I own both Milestone and HTC Hero and can play around with HTC Hero ROMs (thanks to developers here) but do not want to brick my Motorola Milestone (don't really rely on instructions from other website)

Once again, not the right forum.
Go to the X2 forum (there is a box to find your device in the top right).
That phone has nothing in common with the MS2, so it's not here you'll find help.

It's for the Droid X2... maybe it could be useful, I don't know, but honestly, you won't get much help on this forum since you have a different phone

This sucks... lol... well I tried all the files from dx2 and mx2 forums.... there is one file that worked and its tezet's MX2 file labeled "cm9 for all other phones"
That's why I posted in tezets forum...

But the compiler had to leave the thread.
Our "vision" gettin' old but jb roms coming ahead.

hey I think the desire z needs a Facebook group. My old phone (htc explorer) had a fb group and it was really informative about new roms and development being done. I know there is an irc but if someone created a fb group I think it would be really helpful

Just beat an iPhone owner.....the dude came around tranna make noise about his new iphone....not to bring too much disgrace to him I kept my s2 aside and pulled out my g2(running andromadus test builds jb).....so he did his siri thing and I did google now....paranoma, multitasking(which was actually the closest he got to beating me)......after this I really came to respect my g2...btw I had it overclocked to 1.5GHz.....which is actually another point cos he can't do that:thumbup:....... Hit thanks if you still love your g2...(if this was facebook that would have "like, if you still love your g2).......

With the wiki i downgraded the rom, rooted it, got s-off and supersid.

Its the best qwerty smartphone for me.
It could have more ram but.. well its 2years old smartphone.
Thank you all for your hard work all this time, but now it's time for me to say good bye to you guys since I'm changing to a new device. I've enjoy using my desire z with custom ROM all this years. Moving to galaxy note 10.1, keep up the good work and support.

There maybe only 2 or 3 developers working on this device but they have already ported some 10 Roms for this device.
Not mentioning the 3 kernels.

I dunno, I'm looking at the Dev forum for us and as I type this there's fourteen ROMs on the first page alone with most of their threads having pretty recent replies too. And the devs appear to be answering as well.
I think we got it pretty good.
What are you wanting to see that's new?

LOL i had asked a question and it was not answered in the ROM thread...not by the devs, also i saw 2-3 ppl posting their problems..still no replies from devs or OP...I can understand they busy LOL but I am finding it like LONELY

Ah I see. Hopefully someone will answer you (I don't have your answer or I would have).
Although I don't mind the population here, our phone also isn't being offered by any of the American carriers except for Verizon which has the Droid Maxx 2 (a Play that's Verizon-branded). I don't think they allow bootloader unlocking (someone will correct me if I'm wrong) so not going to be much interest from them.

Proper developers reply once in a blue moon to problems in general thread as most of the problems can be solved by users possessing a bit higher knowledge.
Developers are mainly concerned with the development of Roms and I am totally ok with it if they don't reply to normal queries of forum.

I agree even if the device is 3 yrs old DUDE..!! there are ROMS getting updated specially niaboc79's ROM, Rajeev, etc, CM, PAC, AOSP, all are updated still..!!

LOL..can you explain a bit of " PROPER DEVELOPERS " plz? everyone who made the ROMs like CM12, CM13, RR, are devs definitely and am sure they are trying harder to update..and get less bugs..but i dont see them replying as well for a fact, It's been quite sometime no dev has updated with their latest version of ROM.
