I win. And after actually doing a full calibration of that, i got ~65 hours total
I was at 2 days 9 hrs with 19% battery life left before I plugged it in the other day.
That would be equiv to 57 hours with 81% drain.
If that was a straight linear drain and with a fully calibrated battery that would be an estimated 72ish hours of battery life.
I am running Onyx 4.2.
i got 4 days 8 hours 12 minutes. still running at 16%.
19% @ 21h 6m 44s since unplugged
but i don't remember if i rebooted or plugged in the usb somewhere along the way. either way, acceptable battery life, maybe slightly better than JI6
obsidian v4.2
edit: w/ stock kernel. i've heard the UCLF kernels have been having battery issues
Anyone can get 60 hours if you unplug, connect to wifi or turn off data and let your phone sit unused...these threads are pointless...
haha holy cow thats a long time with ur battery what do u guys not useur phone a lot???? =-O
Who has a longer battery life? Toyota Prius!
How can you compare battery life on a device that is being used differently from person to a person
Use System Panel statistic at least! I got -1% per 6 hours of sleep on Obsidian v4.2 and ~6 hours of constant usage.
So are you guys using eugene's kernels that give you actually ALL of the battery life by letting the battery die at 3v?

Exactly, even turn off wifi for more juice!!
Realistically, the best I have gotten was 24-25 hours (moderate use)
i actually use my phone normally, for me at least. and yes, i can still get 60 hours. i don't have a data plan, so i use wifi. I text throughout the day, but i'm not a "heavy" user so that's why my battery is higher.

Here you go! Most of has data plan and always connected to 3G, sync contacts with FB, google etc, email client, weather widget, FB feeds, stocks, news blah blah blah...I get 16-18 hours max with all this running and moderate use.
played angry birds for 3 hours straight, still at 90%.
I hit a record.
Yesterday riding around I must have watched a few YouTube videos and surfed the web/used XDA app to read forums. Perhaps I sent a text or two. No phone calls, GPS, or WiFi, though...
2 hours 34 minutes (yes, that's kind of ironic numbering, but that's what it said) later it was at 27% battery life left.
I now have like 80% of the Apps I had installed before uninstalled, so I know it's not a software issue with something draining the battery.
Display was taking 77%. Samsung initially stated that the sAMOLED screens would not drain as much battery, I think that is likely the culprit for many of the battery woes. I will be sure to avoid this screen type in the future.
My HD2 has a much smaller battery, but with the same usage patterns it runs circles around this Vibrant. It's not even funny.
The Vibrant can maybe standby for a day and a half. I can use my HD2 casually but let it stand by a majority of the time and the battery lasts like half a week...
I think the Screen is the culprit, IMO, which would explain why people who turn off auto-brightness and fiddle with that see much better battery life. On the flip side, the issue is exacerbated because the Vibrant doesn't have an LED Notification light (like the HD2), so everytime you get a text instead of using an inexpensive LED notification light, it's flashing that screen on. That means even if you don't use the phone all that much, your standby uptime can still be deplorable compared to some other phones if you get a lot of phone calls or notifications which turn the screen on.

I'll believe that when I see it. In any case if I play a game that long on the phone (I never do, but IF), I'd be at a charger, anyways.
21 hours to 50% ON STOCK
I got 21 hours on 50% drain using the juice defender on the stock rom. Not bad i would say especially considering what I was getting before I took steps to conserve battery life.
As someone else already said, this is kinda pointless. Everyone is gonna use their phone's differently. With all the apps, configurations, etc, there are literally millions of different variables.
Something that I find puzzling... I see so many people upgrading to 2.2 only to get 6-12 hours battery life. Why in the world do people accept that? What is so great about 2.2 that people are willing to settle for having such piss poor batter life just so they can run 2.2 on their phone's? I don't get it at all. The best I could manage on 2.2 was 18 hours. That rom came off my phone so fast it wasn't even funny.
Anyway, with normal use (read: light to moderate) I get just about 3 days with my phone on 2.1 Bionix. I wouldn't be considered an average user though, as I don't have 3G in my country and my widgets only moderately access the web. What helped me immensely was disabling data when I don't need it. I mean, do you really need your phone checking your email, weather, facebook, etc, while you're fast asleep?
i can play pocket legends for 3 hours straight from 100% to 5%. think it's good but not enough.

I get pretty crappy battery life on my poor little N1. Cell standby takes up 49% and phone idle 49% when I go into the battery information. I am considering setCPU but I'm scared that if it's changing the clock speed every time I turn the thing off isn't that bad? I mean having the clock speed adjusted so many times, couldn't that hurt the device's life span?
by default on stock it already scales the CPU to conserve battery
My battery life has increased since I've used this program its awesome
Cell standby and phone idle at 49% each isn't a problem if that's all that's been using it. It doesn't mean each one will take up 49% of your entire battery. If you just unplugged it and let it sit without using the screen or anything, then the only thing using your battery is the standby and idle. So after 2 hours or so of that, you might be down to 90% battery, and both cell standby and phone idle are using 49% of that 10% each. In other words, it used up 4.9% of the total battery each.
As for changing the speed all the time, it will not hurt the CPU, as Android already does that for you all the time. When sleeping it under clocks to the lowest, and when you need to use an app, it clocks it back up to full power.

I've been using it for 4 hours and they're both 49% and the screen is only 2%, is my phone defective?
Have you been using the screen during those 4 hours? Like using it to browse or run apps or anything? Or has it just been sitting there for most of the time?

Absolutely no use whatsoever and it's lost 12%?
That seems perfectly normal. Don't worry about it. It does have to use power to idle there, it is still a running computer, and it also needs to stay connected to the closest cell tower in case you get a call.
When it is sitting all by itself that is all it has to do. Your screenshot shows that in 10 hours it only took 12%. That is very good.
If you used the screen for 5 of those hours, your battery could be down to much less than half, and the screen would be about 90% on that graph, while the idle and standby would be less than 5% each.

I only get 2-3 hours if I'm using it for internet I'm not sure if I need setCPU or of it does it for me
I really wanted a desire rom but everyone goes on about how bad the battery life is on them. It doesn't make sense because the desire has a 1300 battery when we have a 1400.
Ok, that is a problem. When it is idling your phone seems normal, but I am able to get more than 2-3 hours when browsing the web.
SetCPU won't help you that much, well it can help, but it is best to find out why you are so low in the first place. Fix that first to get it to a normal length first, then you can look at extending the normal time to longer with SetCPU and other things.
As for right now, what brightness do you have the screen on, what are you normally browsing on? I usually use it at a pretty low setting because I am indoors, and browse pretty simple websites.
If you use full brightness and watch youtube videos you probably would drain the battery insanely fast.
What are you normally doing when it drains so fast?
30% brightness and just casual browsing, some forums mostly.
Since your battery isn't draining by itself, I don't think it is a rogue program taking the battery.
If you are using 3G with a really bad signal it could do that, as it has to boost the power to reach the tower.
Otherwise I am at the end of my suggestions, you could try reading through a few of the large battery threads until something sounds like it could be your issues. I doubt you're the first person to have whatever issues you have.
I live in rural Canada. I think it's rather mutual that I get crappy service
I would love an extended battery, but unfortunately I know nobody who's actually used one who could tell me how good they are, or where I could even obtain one where I am in Canada.
It's mostly the desire rom I really want though, but the blasted battery is supposedly so bad for it!

turn off bluetooth, gps when not using. Use a task Killer to end all tasks that you arent using to stop them polling for updates and what not. If using Facebook, Twitter and rss feeds they need to be set to update at intervals >3/4hours otherwise your battery will be absolutely ****e.
How good of battery life is everyone getting on their Fascinate? I've never had any trouble making a full day on it, and I think it actually got improved battery life since I installed the DI01 update a couple days ago. My phone has currently been unplugged for about 15:40, and with relatively light usage (no phone calls, reading a bit of news, checked the weather couple times, etc.), is only down to 71%. I'm not even gonna bother plugging it in tonight, and see if I can get through tomorrow with it.
i effen love this battery life. couldnt be any better
with continuously heavy usage i make it through the day, usally at least 2-4 hours of voice calls and 45min to 1hr with browser, 30min music, long enough to get the job done while looking at porn.(u know porn is for android LOLZ) ne way for real, another 30 min looking at droid-life,engadget,phandroid, and xda, and the rest on xda, its great
I get around 32 hours with moderate usage
I took 8.5 hours of streaming Pandora over 3g to get my battery down to 15% from a near full charge at work the other day.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I'm now at 1 day, 5 hours, and 47 minutes unplugged, and with light usage, am at 52%. w00t!
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I'm averaging about 12 hours off the plug before I need to find a power source again. This is 4 hours better than my old Moto Droid 1 so I'm definitely not complaining. I spend a LOT of time on the Remote VNC app logging into computers around where I work, and that tends to drain the battery fairly quickly. I can easily make it through the day on my days off at work.
Yeah I get very solid battery life with my fascinate. Usually down to 40% after a full day which is constantly checking and replying to emails, moderate texting, maybe 45min of web browsing, 30 min of streaming radio, and an hour of playing Abduction 2 .
Im pleased as well. Usage varies. I tell people the battery is good for about 5-6 hours of constant non-stop use. Screen lit, downloading something via WiFi or 3G, apps, games, camera, emails, texts, GPS/Nav, whatever. Constant heavy use = 5-6hours. So if you are like me and average maybe 20minutes per hour of actually using it, an 12-14 hour day is a piece of cake. If you only average using it heavy duty 10 minutes per hour than absolutely you can probably get away with charging every other day.
22h 47m Since unplugged. Battery now at 26%. I keep GPS and Autosync off until I need them. Also installed an app called Battery Boost that helps manage battery draining stuff you can't keep up with. I think it helps and was free.
wow you guys are getting really long batt life. I moderately use my phone and I always get around 13-15 hours. I don't play games / listen to music, I turn off everything except GPS and have screen at lowest brightness. The only time I hit 24 hours is when I installed juice defender.
little over 16 hours; quite pleased
I am not using juice defender and I am getting a little over 16 hours with moderate usage.
From 5am to 8pm it lasts.. on 3g and at 8pm I get home and switch to wifi.. which is about 30% at 8pm.
I found that disabling that last option in the display settings really helped me.
I also am not using any task killers or (again) JuiceDefender or GPS or BT, just 3g cellular service for most of the day.
I am rooted and have the lagfix applied via the original dirrk method.
Battery Life
The first day I got the phone I thought the battery was crap. But I did do a TON of stuff on it. (Rooted, Lagfix, a zillion installs)
Day 2 with the phone I was at school and used it quite frequently from 7 AM and worked until 10 PM. At school everyone had to see it and it was in use almost all day. It finally died around 10:15.
Over all I am pleased with the battery life and I am sure after I get to a norm with having everything set the way I want it will last a lot longer.....
I've been streaming Pandora for about six hours. I've downloaded a bunch of apps/widgets and spent a lot of time customizing my phone, just playing around. Talked for about half an hour and I'm at about 50%.
Well, i think we can all agree that the battery life on the Fascinate is quite satisfactory. Oh, just a quick tip. With the AMOLED screen, black pixels are actually pixels that are turned off, so the more black you have on your screen, the less power it will draw, as more pixels are turned off. I set my xda app to the dark theme, mostly because I like it better, but it has the added benefit of saving battery life too. I plan on sticking with dark wallpapers and stuff.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Only had mine for a day so I can't really comment on the life of the battery, but one thing that does puzzle me is that the battery indicator in the upper right is full, but its only at 82% charged. Is this normal?
2nd day with this phone, first full day with it, so I've been testing the battery life. 2 1/2 hours of non stop usage since I woke up at 33% brightness. Calls, texts, testing the camera, playing games like NOVA, Asphalt, and Gem Miner, listening to music, and my battery is at 68%. I'm very impressed.
EDIT: Lasted from 1:19 to 11:33 yesterday before it finally died, and I seriously did not put it down all day. I'm very impressed with the battery life.
This is the usual for me. Using gps, music, lots of cellular data, wifi, etc.

It's about average I guess, but I think I had better battery service when I uninstalled the verizon visual voicemail stuff. The VVM service seems to have an impact. I assume it monitors the voicemail server and downloads voicemails when they come in.
Using Myn's ROM with the Battery Tweak, I have FaceBook syncing and I have 2 gmail accounts syncing along with Weather every 3 hours, Facebook every 2 hours.

Man, you even use ya phone?
What is with this obsession of battery life goin on 'round here? I say, as long as you can get better battery life than a stock rom, you've won. Keeping the phone on for a day or two without charging seems like a good idea, but everyday isn't the same, and one day you may need to use it way more than any other day..if you start that day off with only 30% just because you wanted to see how long your battery would last, then you really gotta limit how often you use your phone just so that it can make it till the next time your around a charger.

Barely used phone. Come on.
Display 4%? Is that possible?
I can go a full day and a half, 36 hours, without a charge and I am using the original sense android... and I use my phone normally, I text, read usatoday, tmz, check email a few times, use the xda app... and I have wifi on all the time! What's this beef with battery life on these forums? Mine lasts forever! I just have things update manually, I don't let anything run without my permission.
I do, however, turn my phone off the 6 hours I am sleeping.
wifi is on = low battery usage, atleast in my experience.
Indeed. I got 1 day and 19 hours on stock nonrooted 2.2 back. and i used it for some medium texting. and some gps applications...maybe 2-3 hours max awake time. i dont think you used it much...the excessive 3G usage from FB doesnt mean anything.

According to mine, it's 122 min of screen on usage.
I had this scenario on my phone running myn's rls2 + king cfs #11 yesterday:
since unplugged - 24 hours
display on - 1 hour 25 minutes
charge remaining - 50%.
so i wanted to find out how long the battery would last on standby, and to my surprise.. it turned out to be nearly 58 hrs!!! that was on stock sense rom. non-rooted. and of course with very very minimal use. i basically just left the phone alone on my desk or in my pocket all day.
here is the screenshot i took back in july:
but that kind of battery life is unrealistic with normal usage. I am a moderate user (on the higher side), and i typically put my evo on charge everyday in the morning when i get to work (on weekdays). so, the charge on my phone lasts about 25 hrs with normal usage, that usually means about 4-5hrs of Awake Time. this is after rooting the phone. and i am using a stock rooted sense rom. i have had similar results before rooting the phone as well.
on weekends, i find myself charging the phone about 3 times (over 2 days), as the usage of the phone goes very very high.
i have a charger on my desk at work for the weekday charging, and a charger in my car for the weekends.
i have recently installed setCPU, and havent really seen that making too much of a difference, but that perhaps has to do with my usage pattern.
as pointed out in many a threads, signal strength is one major factor when it comes to battery drain. i live in Atlanta and i have great Sprint coverage where I am located, and that makes a world of difference.

it would help if you indicate the battery life that you were getting on stock or any other rom you were using prior to this. because there are so many variables that come into play as far as battery life is concerned. so that will help put your claim into some perspective

I installed OMGB-6 when it was released. Then flashed invisiblek #21 kernel and the new market. Since I last charged it, I've talked on it for about an hour, used the web-browser (Skyfire) fairly moderately, sent a few emails (Gmail), and spent a total of about an hour of GPS through the application WAZE. I'm left at 22% battery left after about 22 hours of use.
I've been fairly lazy with regards to changing the screen brightness, so it's been on about 50% brightness. I've left sync and gps on during the whole time.
I've been using Watchdog as a smart task manager. I have SetCPU installed, but I haven't used it at all.

50% Brightness?!?!?! Wow....battery life is not worth looking at a dull screen. 100% all the way for me...im using 1800mah from ChiChitech that I got for $20. Seems to help enough.

Hydra 1.13 overclock kernel, stock ROM, stock battery, auto-brightness. I'm currently at 20% battery after 2.5 days. Light usage over the weekend, but there is an hour and a half of talk time in there and a half hour of reading.
The trick to DI battery life is keeping the data network usage/standby under control. If you're trying to send/receive data with no signal, the phone will burn through its battery in 4 hours and I've used 20% in 15 minutes trying to book a flight on a low signal connection.
Realizing this took me a few months since I live in NYC and as such, go through a lot of signal shadows. Some days my phone would be at 50% battery after 12 hours, other times it'd be dead after 6. I now realize that the short days were caused by sync services trying to run when I was in a shadow. You can diagnose this for yourself by going to the cell standby section of the battery usage. If you're over 10% or so without a signal, you have this problem.
You can handle this manually by holding down the power (on the stock rom) and enabling/disabling mobile network. This is a pain in the ass.
I handle this with some simple Locale rules along with the Mobile Signal and Mobile Data plugins. The first is to shut off the data when there's no signal. The second is to shut off the data at work where I'm usually but not always on a wireless network. The third is to shut down the data during my normal sleep hours and airplane mode if I'm at home.
These easily got me to 36 hours so I grabbed an undervolt kernel, which gets me to 2 days of regular use. Daily I do about 15m of talk, 40m reading news/email on the subway, and another 30 mins browsing/messaging/misc. My monthly data use is ~350MB.
While it is likely true that the OP and others have good battery life under their specific use conditions, battery life in general on smart phones is mediocre to poor at best. I have friends with various different models of smartphone (including iphone) and across the board battery life is not good. The exception is blackberry, but I don't consider those competitive from a tech and feature standpoint. Obviously different people are going to have different opinions and experiences based on the various factors that influence battery longevity.
The solution is to stop worrying about it, get a spare or two or three and pop in a new battery when one dies. This imo is one of the best things about the Dinc and Android phones in general. Just my 2c.
What has been the average battery life with your TF? Mine has been good but feel like it could be better. Today for example, after charging and an hour of soem use, it was already down to 90%...but observing, it may also have like a "sweet spot" in the % meter as I often see it stay in the 50% to 30% ranges longer than the 100% to 90%...
Pretty damn good, I usually OC mine to 1.4 and have it at performance and it still lasts like 8 hours.
I have gotten into a habit of leaving mine in the dock until the dock battery is used up and then I will switch between netbook mode and tablet mode. I'm not sure on actual hour usage but I usually get between 3-4 days. And this is really my only computer at home, so I use it quite a bit.
With average use, youtube, games, reader, web browsing about 2-3 hours a day I only have to charge about twice a week. I love it. In the one test I managed I had my screen at full brightness and always on, gps and wifi tether running while I drove around town taking my wife to yard sales I ended up around 7 and half hours before i reached 15 percent. I'd say its pretty damn good. A hell of a lot better than my Adam I had before this.
Really good. Charging every couple of days
pretty good, i dont use it all at once but if i use it normally charge every 2-3 days
Mines pretty good, OD'd to 1.5 idle at 4XX. Yesterday on a 12 hour work day: browsing about 2 hours, Fring calls, playing games for about 2 hours, USAToday/CNN apps about an hour, Polaris about 45min, and watched The Hangover at 720p.
When I got home I still had about 41% left on the battery, it was on WiFi all day, bluetooth off, and auto bright on.
Lasts 8 hours if I continuously game on it.

10% down for an hour of use means at least 9 hours till you get to 10% which is pretty good, and just like the producer specifies. It's better than any other Honeycomb tablet out there, including Samsung's Tabs.
I can get on my TF to 11-12 hours of moderate web browsing (forums and static blog pages, not much power hungry flash) with auto-brightness (in fact close to 10%-0% brightness cause I mainly use it in the evenings, in a low lit ambient) and other than WiFi radios off, before it reaches 10%.
That's good battery life. Comparable to my wife's iPad 2.
I was out at work for 14 hours, when i came back,my battery has fallen by 22%. This happens often. In battery usage graph, i see that my tab was been awake intermittently a no. Of times during the time it was on standby, i mean like it was awake 50% of the time, in short bursts. At the same time, wifi was also on for very short intervals... my wifi is set to disconnect when screen off. I hav pulse,news360 and youtube widgets. And the asus time n weather thing. My mail did not sync during the standby time, as i received the gmail notification sometime after i switched it on. So it was probably an app that was causing multiple 'awakenings' ! Ne idea wat? I dont sync with picasa, so that may be ruled out.
Ps-this was undocked.
Pps- i found out the picasa sync option was checked, so i unchecked it. But i dont know if the battery drain was due to this. Isnt there any app like spare parts that can atleast tell the no. Of times/duration an app was used?

after using mine for about 24 hours fairly heavily, and having it oc' ed to 1.5, and a fair ammount of gaming, id say i could get a solid 7 hours of use out of it while still gaming a good ammount. Prob more, but no long term results yet.

What can one do to squeeze the most out of the battery.
- keep the the brightness at 50%
- set wifi to turn off when the tablet is on standby.
Anything else?
My stand-by time has been horrible. From 100% down to 85% overnight, then down to 35% after 16 hrs, and the next morning, 15% left! So I literally have to recharge every other day even with very light use!
I have set wifi to disconnet when screen off, and I have weather, pulse, gmail and c-note widgets on
I use my tablet for email, sometimes youtube and lots of games. Its on stock 3.1 with root and OCed to 1.4. It's probably like 2 hours everyday usage. I only charge it like twice a week.
I set my brightness to Auto, Wifi is on, might disconnect when screen is off, not sure.
