Hello Guys,
Have anyone found the option where i can set up 720p recording with the Tab? I cant find it.

I thought you had to hack it.
Ok... Because in the test the can record with 720p. I have the newest firmware on my Tab. When i take a foto i can change the resolution but not in video mode. Anyone have an idea?

Isn't '720' just 720x480? I don't believe I've read anywhere that it can shoot 1024x720p video like its galaxy brethren.
Sent from my GT-P1000R using XDA App
No. 720p is 1280×720. 480p, 720p, and 1080p always refer to the lowest of the width and height.
I realize that, I'm just saying the tab doesn't shoot it, and the only 720 in the specs is the 720x480.
It's a bit of a bummer, but wasn't a deal breaker for me.

what? you can record in HD resolution? 720p? mine's only working with camcorder preset set to High.
720p playback not tested yet, if you want maybe you can share a little sample-movie to some file hoster (multiupload.com) maybe then more people are likly to test. by the way what bitrate for video and sound you had in your 720p file? codec and file extension?
Hey. I'm new here Thought i'd see if you guys could answer a question for me.
I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what the resolution of videos playing in the nexus 10 youtube app are? I haven't actually got my nexus yet, but I imagine it's the same as my S3, where the player only has a "SD" and "HD" option.
Is the HD just equivilent to 720p? Or will it choose the highest possible resolution for the video? I'm asking this because watching youtube videos in 1080p would be really nice
Thanks!
I am curious too since it does not lt you select.
Pretty sure it's 720p on the app for HD.
I'll do a test when I get home later.
I've been wondering that too
Youtube app will render videos to Hd720p. If you want full 1080p you'll have to use the browser.

Thanks for the replies.
That's annoying Would be nice if google could update the app for tablets so we can view 1080p videos without having to use the browser.
Google should update the app and give you the option because the browser page is not good in my opinion slow laggy and hard to use with a touch screen.
Why make a Google product and then hinder it with low quality video stream. Honestly its one thing that annoys me with with his tablet how soft videos look from the YouTube app. It does not do this amazing tablet justice , lucky I have nice images to look at lol

Yup, 720p only.
Your right! I did not know that. Google does own youtube since 2005 from what I read.

isn't youtube owned by google?
jjdevega said:
Its not Google that needs to update, it's YouTube. Google isnt responsible for apps not made by them.
Youtube just needs to start jumping on the band wagon and start supporting higher res streaming.

If google says jump, youtube says how high. They are their subsidiary.
With the Nexus 10 and its supreme display resolution I guess we can expect an update to the YouTube app pretty soon. I expect a 1080p option.
Yes, 1600p would be nice but don't forget at this resolution/bitrate many people won't be able to stream it anymore, at least not in an acceptable time frame.

How many people are tethering often enough to worry about that? I have a first batch Nexus 10, and I've always just used it on Wi-Fi.

It was a sarcastic question hence the face. Thanks for joining in on the conversation.
Nexus 10 doesn't come with radio for data hence me asking as if his Nexus 10 did.
I hope this explanation clears things up for you so you aren't confused by sarcasm.
Yeah it would be nice if they updated the app, but I suppose 720p isn't too bad on a 10 inch screen anyway.
Youtube only supports up to 2048x1536 at the moment anyway. Hopfully 1600p youtube will come eventually
Youtube 720p looks surprisingly good on the N10 to me. If they add a 1080p option I definitely hope 720p is still selectable.

Well, let me answer with some numbers:
I have a really high quality video on my N10 (the Timescape Trailer), it's 1440p and 33.5 mbit/sec worth of data.
Even with high compression a 1600p video would be like 10-20 mbit/sec or around 40 mbit/sec in very high quality.
Is it possible for the note 10.1 to video in 1080p? Or 720p at 60 fps?
Do you mean the camera?

I know that the back 5MP camera shoots in 720p, but I don't know about the frame rate for either of the front or back cameras. Hope this helps you.
Not really

Not really, there aren't many developers here compared to the nexus s , hopefully
Y we get one soon.
720p @ 30fps.
Is it possible to change it to 1080p? Or is the camera-unit just not good enough.
Galaxy tab 2 10.1 can record 1080P videos with its old 3.2 mpix camera, i think samsung was too lazy to activate it on note

It cannot go above 720P, though if an experts sits on it he can port it to 1080p it was done for one device recently i cannot remember which. It is possible
I can't play the helicopter video nor any other 1080p video with MxPlayer or VLC.
Videos up to 720p work fine.
Only the Samsung player works with 1080p.
Anybody else?

V-Player works fine here..
For me, i can play all videos including 1080p and helicopter video using MxPlayer. Btw my device GTI9500
okay, then I have to investigate my device further.

is there any downside?

BS Player and RockPlayer2 is good.
It has a very usable playlist with shuffle function that I need.
I also buy the pro version to support the developers.

Helicopter video
My I9500 came with helicopter video, but after some updates that desapears.
I have tried everything to get that again, but the only option until now was to download from youtube, but I don't think this have the same quality.
The youtube downloaded video (1080p) have only 61MB. I found a 720p mkv version, wich have 164MB. I think the 1080p version have 300+MB
Could someone kindly upload or send me a link to download the real Samsung helicopter video in 1080p wich came with Galaxy S4?
I'll be much appreciated.
I managed to get some hands experience on the note 3 at work the other day but I forgot to check if slow motion play back was available. Has anyone heard of this is a feature? Or will an app or rom have to enable it?
Ps. The 2k stream via HDMI was really smooth as crystal.

This also interests me. Having 120 fps at 720p means good opportunity for slow motion videos - like on the iPhone 5s.
Is there a good video editor app in Play store that can make multi parts slow motions?

If it does, I hope it's got a better resolution than what my Note 2 has for slow mo, great featur but, looks crap on the big screen IMO.

Yeah. It's 720p at 120 fps.
I with the Note 3 could do 250 FPS at 720p. Since the Note 2 does 250fps at some low res. I guess we'll need more hp.
Thanks for the input, I'm just confused to why this wasn't mentioned or any camera features from the outset tbh. I guess the pessimist in me reckons there won't be any slow motion by default.
I would love to be proved wrong however.

The same problem
Heres a question.
Can you toggle 720 video in 120fps to be on all the time by default?
Heres my reasoning for this.
Something is going on, its ALWAYS good to be able to go back later on and play it back in slow-motion.
an accident about to happen, someone about to step on a Bananna peel, etc..
if you need to access the video camera very quickly, it would stink to have to navigate to turn on 120fps
and miss that important shot.
How do you enable the 120 fps feature?

- Load up the camera
- Cog icon top left will expand the list of options
- Icon of a videocamera (3rd from right)
- Slow motion
- Another videocamera icon appears with something like 1/4, 1/8 in the corner
- Tap and choose what you want, i prefer 1/4 as it records at 120fps and plays back at 30. The 1/8 still records at 120 but plays back at 15 i think
Thanks
