There is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in your registered home network

Once I tried to connect the free wifi on Atlanta airport. Since then my ATT 8525 randomly displays this message "There is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in your registered home network.
Just FYI, I do not ATT internet subscription.
I can receive text messages and calls as usual but today when I tried to sync my phone with my laptop, it gave errors like make Outlook express as your default mail server.
I cannot sync my phone to my laptop which was possible until I started getting the GPRS messages.
Please help me.
Check your selected network and see by changing it to correct network settings. I am not sure if it is going to resolve your problem or not.
I'm having the same problem.
I do not have a GPRS service.
I do not need it because i use WIFI.
Can i make wifi my only data connection with the HD2?
thnx
go to settings>connections>connections
the touch manage connections and delete the default tmobile gprs setting by touching it and holding til delete come up.
Just fyi,
I was facing this problem, and iiodii's solution worked fine, or simply :
Go to settings > Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks >
Check both options to 'My Work Network' or any network other than your Mobile provider connection.
An advise "Just for users who will reach this topic" (I did through Google )
This didn't work. I'm having the same problem: GPRS not working when I try to send/receive MMS, and it all started after I started using wifi. Should I flash the radio?
I have Hermes 200- two years ago I had the same problem-this is what I did: went to the WIKI and downloaded "network settings" for my phone (cab) and loaded directly to my phone, soft reseted and that was it. Savy!?!!
sorry to hear that.good luck to u .
Go to phone and then menu and then options and go to BAND, don't choose auto but chose GSM OR CDMA both of them. Hope it will help all of you.

is there a way to strictly prevent no 3G or GPRS data

it is because i am worried that while roaming, the set may go on internet.. for example wayfinder..
tried the connection manager.. i switched data off.. but wayfinder just goes online itself..
any tweak or problem to enable me to :"lock" data access?
I have downloaded the "No Data" program from the below site and it works brilliantly, you manually go into the program and disable any connections you dont want active
http://www.modaco.com/content/xperi...4005/pauls-must-have-free-xperia-x1-software/
does it prevent the connection from becoming active or its only good for terminating connections after they connected>
cant seem to d/l it.. any direct links?
or anymore recommendations>
This program completly stops the connection being established in the first place. If you try to connect to the internet while the connections are disabled, you get an error message saying it wont connect to any networks and you have to enable that connection.
Sorry, i cant get any direct links at the min,
CommMgrPro lets you disable all the data connections automatically when your device is in roaming mode...
No Data works perfectly
No Data probably works 100% (haven't tried it), but here's what I do - go into Start --> Settings --> Connections --> Connections --> advanced --> Select Networks.
If your normal internet settings are called "My ISP", click new and create a blank group called "No Settings".
For both internet and work drop downs select "No Settings".
That way, when it tries to connect, it won't go through the "My ISP", but through "No Settings" (for which there aren't internet settings).

How do I disable auto-connect to 3G data connection?

It gets really annoying when I was using WIFI, and suddenly the signal is too weak and it automatically connects to 3G/HSDPA data connection. I am currently not on a plan with internet usage and it charges me 20cents per KB!!
Another question - when I'm using WIFI to login MSN, why does it connects to 3G data connection whenever I press the power button and go to sleep mode
e.g. when I turn it back on 3G data connection is on...
so does it use 3G to maintain my MSN connection???
delete the internet settings
when the wifi is weak it will auto connect to 3G.
install NoData to disable 3G.

Settings> Connections
Under "Advance Tab" go to "Select Networks"
Under Network Management
The first option "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using: "My ISP" <-- set as this
Take note this will disabled incoming/out going 3G calls. Just alter the settings around when need.
NoData ftw as posted earlier

Click to collapse
It doesn't work now if you've upgraded your rom. I think nodata is the only choice left.
Phone - Settings - "Band" (not sure of this word as I have it in french) - select GSM instead of Auto and it will only connect to Edge, not to 3G.

[q] data connection problem

data connection is being disconnected automatically when it's in idle, also in "mobile networks" section data connection is still enabled. NexusHD2-FRG83D_V1.7_(Froyo 2.2.1). Is it possible to fix it ?
not to be an asshole but: search before you post.
Sometime it does that to me, but you can re-enable them in the setting, you know???

[Q] S5 SM-G900F Internet Calling

Ok, So I was impressed to see my new Vodafone UK S5 has an option under settings > call for Internet Calling.
This registers perfectly on my voip server, and most of the time calls work just fine.
The really annoying issue I have come across though is when your connection is less than perfect.
I have all power management options disabled, Download booster and Smart network switch are enabled.
Sometimes It seems the following happens...
Phone has 3/4G or wifi, VOIP account registers and recieves calls.
You then lose both wifi and 3/4g connectivity, even just briefly.
The voip account gets logged out, as would be expected.
You restore 3/4g or wifi connectivity.
VOIP calls no longer work.
Upon going back into Settings > Call > Internet Calling > Accounts,
This is displayed:
"[email protected]
Primary account. Still trying..."
While connected to wifi I have done a TCP dump, as well as from my VOIP server to analyse all traffic, and I can confirm that despite the message, the phone is NOT Still trying to connect. Literally NO traffic is being sent by the phone, or recieved by the SIP server.
To regain VOIP connection, you simply tap on the account to open the settings page, and immediately hit back.
"Saving account..." appears, and instantly the phone re-registers on the VOIP server.
My VOIP account is configured as transport type: TCP, and Send Keepalive: Always send.
My question is, Without rooting the device, How I can I make the phone try to reconnect more aggressively when the internet connection is back up.
I expect the phone to reconnect within 30 seconds of having a working internet connection, without needing to go through the process above.
Any suggestions?
