-everything booted and went well BUT THEN...
-market started acting up, it never worked smoothly on anything above 1.6 for me but i cant put my head on this one
-one app is killing me, my maps and nav will not let me download it, along with robodefense for some reason
-By "not let me i mean" its been stuck "downloading" for about two hours.
-tried cancelling the download but EVERY time it force closes the market [com.android.market.vending]
-i had to maunally start a download for the market to "autostart" the downloads on all my prev apps, thought it was wierd cause it was stuck for the longest time, downloads went okay
-so then i flashed gapps from the cm6 website, sorta fixed the problem, it gave me maps, no nav, but my market is still "downloading" the maps even though those gapps gave me the maps app already. cant stop the download because its still force closing
- it was a clean install no other issues, i did a full wipe, wiped via fastboot method aswell,
im not a rookie, but im no dev either so if you can help a bean out.
i was wondering if the "new" market on all the gapps all the devs are flashing are corrupt or wut?
or am i alone?

So, I've recently bought a new vibrant and at first I was able to download some apps after booting, after a few minutes though I can't seem to download anything anymore, the downloads start and the download notification appears on top then dissapears after a second. Hope someone can help. I've tried everything, I've cleared all the cache/data(from checked in service, gtalk, market, etc...), signed out and logged into gtalk, uninstalled market update. I also tried doing a factory reset and even reflashed the rom back to JFD from JI6 but the problem still occurs, after I either hard reset or flash it to stock it works for a few minutes, from 5-30 minutes before the problem occurs again wherein it'd either stay at starting download or the download icon will appear at the notification bar, then dissapear after 1 second. It's been driving me crazy for over a week!
Hope someone has a solution.

This happens to me at times, but after clearing the market apk cache I'm able to download apps properly. Try to clear it a few times before deciding to reinstall the apk. Also, speaking from experience, I dont think that flashing different roms would help too much. Every time i flashed a rom the same problem came back and i would have to do the whole "clear cache" thing over again.
hi, thanks for the help. I've already tried clearing the market cache and other apps but it still doesn't work. I've read of a new market app version 2.2.11, I tried downloading it to the phone and installing it but the phone says something like "error parsing package".
ok so i was reading some older threads but they dont seem to help...all of a sudden i decided to download an app in the market and it lets me click install and it says "your app is now being installed" and then bam im hit with a force close...ive tried clearing data reinstalling my rom...i even upgraded CWM3 (not that would do anything) but ive tried a few things and it still force closes...
Did you try clearing the cache on the market? You can also look for the new market APk somewhere. I've heard it runs a lot better. I think the newest is 2.2.11 hope that helps
thanks...i tried it cleared data and cache...and actually saw that my newest version was .11 but it still force closed ...i got the app to d/l to 100% but then it FC...so i tried flashing a diff rom which sucks cuz i lost all my data had to start from scratch no FC so i flashed back to quantum again and everything looked good then bam FC...
I have no idea what happened and why it stopped working, but my market won't let me download any apps anymore. I was on mexdroid, everything working just fine. I did a backup and then installed Synergy to try it out and things worked fine for a short time but then Market just stopped after downloading several apps. I went back to my mexdroid backup and now it's not working there either. I don't have any idea where to even start troubleshooting, help please??
EDIT: as a follow up, now it is stuck at the "downloading" stage, I was just testing to see if it worked and tried to download GoWeather. It is now showing me the status bar for the download but not actually downloading, it won't let me stop the download, and it won't let me download anything else. Wtf is going on?

Go to Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/All
Find Market, first force stop, then clear data
Next find download manager, first force stop, then clear data
reboot into recovery and wipe the dalvick cache
then reboot system and try your market again

Yeah so basically everytime I try to download an app or game that needs to download additional data (Like Asphalt 8, or Ivona Amy or Fast and Furious 6) the entire download will complete, it will finish downloading till 100% even the additional data, and then it will suddenly just get an error saying 921 could not complete download. I have tried various different fixes to no avail. This happend all the way since stock 4.2. Flashed factory 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.4.2 and the problem still occurs. On 4.3 it had become fixed for a while but again on 4.4.1/4.4.2 stock or custom roms, the same problem happens. I clean wipe the device and everything, even used different play store accounts and made a new play store account but the error still happens.

Okay so, ive tried every 6.0 ROM on the Shield forum for my portable and they all seem to have app crashing issues with the 6.0.1 pico Gapps (Setup, Play services, framework, play store all crashing, boot loops etc.)
I noticed i dont get these crashing errors whenever i boot the ROMs with no Gapps.
I spent hours and days researching why the crashing happens and ive seen things from "outdated/corrupted SU binary" to "incorrect permissions for 6.0.1 gapps" and i still dont know the cause.
SO i figured id try the apk route. i went to a certain APK site (not sure if we can link those) and grabbed every version for each gapp to see if i could get any of them installed. I found out when theres a corrupted app or incompatible app, android OS doesnt show the image for said APK/APP so i was able to weed out which apps would work.
Linked here are the apks i used to get the MM roms working with google/google apps again.
Install the PICO 6.0 GAPPS and then these APKs after getting into the OS to get going
The Pico-Apps are gonna make the initial boot time longer-- dont worry just let it load everything up (sometimes i had to button mash the shield button & home buttons to get past the boot animation-- sometimes it works and idky)
after installing all of the APKs, reboot the system, the OS is gonna initialize your apps again, might do it twice. after that youre good to go.
