So out of nowhere my speaker stopped working. Can't hear notifications or my ringtones... and I can't use my speaker in calls...

If you weren't messing with anything on your phone when it happened then it could just be a hardware issue. You'll have to take it back where you got it from and see if they can get you a new one.
Really? I'm sick of getting new phones. After I had continual problems with the eris (I had 3) they sent me a droid x which had touch screen response issue. Then they sent me this droid 2 and I'm having more issues? Wtf...

Problem fixed. It's the same with the display on the keyboard and softkeys light not working. If you toggle the autobright thingy off and on it will work. If you toggle silent mode on and off the sound will work.

Nice that's an odd glitch but glad you don't have to trade your phone.
No kidding. I could have cried. I hate resetting my phone.

did this just start happening out of the blue? or did it happen after you installed or changed something?
also, are you refering to the sd card notification sound? turn off the sd card notification in the Sound settings and see if your phone still does the annoying tone
I have no idea...I updated mp3 music download and then I noticed that this happened... but I don't know if that did anything... I don't know what the sd notification sound is... but it's the default ringtone that goes on instead of the droid sound

i think the sound file responsible for this is in /system/customize/resource/
see if it's in there. you must be rooted and using Root Explorer
I'm not rooted... running stock rom

Hi there,
Does anyone know how to make the atrix vibrate on call connect and call end?
My old Nexus S did and I like the feature.

"Callend Vibrate" is one choice.
Joe
Touch pro 2 had it too, liked it it also.

Try callVibrate (novaeye) from the market, is the best one for me so far, vibration on answer and end call.

Thanks guys...
I found that callvibrate worked best for me.

I use Vibralert, its a root app, and offers customizable vibrations on: outgoing answered, incoming answered, outgoing failed & active ended. as well as an in call alerts option.

^ This. +1 for CM7 options built right in. I'm lovin it.
many thanx for callVibrate!
This feature was missing only the ROM MS2Ginger for me.
I've been the same problem, now fixed thanks to all.
I was curious as to how the in call volume works. I mean it seems like to me as long as audio is enabled there should be some type of audio variables in the phones os config. Im trying to disrespect anyones work but I just want an understanding of how it works and what the problem is.

Are you simply asking how to adjust the in-call volume? When you're in a call, use the volume rockers to adjust the voice call channel's volume. Alternatively, you could install a mixer app (I use audiomanager) and adjust the Voice call channel there.
Or are you talking about how on some of the MTD roms the in call volume has a much lower range than others? Or something else?
I have the same problem...audio manager doesn't help : (

If your talking about mtd rims I hear volume+ fixes that.

not much can be done now, volume control+ has been reported to work for some. There's a kernel developer who is close to a fix so hopefully we'll have the issue resolved soon enough!

I know I was just curious about what the problem is and what are some ideas to get it resolved.

it's just something in the kernel, isn't an apparent problem. and nobody really has ideas except the one guy who is working on it and he apparently has a lot of them. he seems to be on the right track and he knows what he is doing.
I can't really tell you more than that about it because I don't know, it's just a matter of time before he gets it fixed!

the speaking 'answer' out loud feature isn't working for me..
it's turned on in my s voice, and features like 'cheese' to take a picture ARE working.. so what gives?
anyone know what might cause this?

do you mean when you ask "s-voice" the answer is not spoken?
try to hit the little face next to the mic, this will activate voice prompt.

Why yes I do....seeing how I was just clearing up what was being discussed as people were confused and how I don't actually use s-voice I figured why turn on the option just for a screen shot.
