So I bought my evo off of my wife's family plan she shares with her side of her family. She added her brother, so he said that he would give me the evo for the hero. Fair trade in my eye . So I call sprint last night and the rep says that they have a better plan called Simply Everything 500--500 minutes instead of 450 and $59 instead of $69. Now they still add the $10. So essentially my plan is $69 (w/the $10 inculded) with 500 min. and everything else the same. He mentioned that they will be switching people over to it without them knowing. Don't know how, but anyway. I thought it was a good deal so I took it. Now I just wonder will I still get my $20 a month credit and 15% discount back on there? Yes my plan after taxes will be about $54/month. That's why I love sprint.
Anyone else here of this plan?
Interesting..would like to know more about this.
thats just the "new" sero plan.
you won't get any discounts on it.
better off getting the regular plan and getting your discounts applied
Did some research and found out that this plan is called the Everything Plus 500 which use to be called the SERO plan. I had SERO for years before they said that you can't get it with the hero. Now I'm back on it!!! Hell yeah.
Wait a minute just thought of something, when I got the Hero I had a choice between this Everything Plus 500 and the Simply Everything for $69.99. The only real difference was that you couldn't get any discounts on the Everything Plus 500 plans, only discounts were applied to the Simply Everything plans. guess I have to call sprint back and see if I keep my discounts or revert me back to my old Simply everything 450 plan for $79 (but prob. total $65 after discounts added).

You're right. I just did the math and I would end up paying more on the Plus 500 plan. Gonna call Sprint right now and get this reverted back. That $20 credit a month is a great thing

I had to do the same thing. We had an Everything Plus family 1600 plan for $109 but we lost our 25% discount. I ended up changing it to the regular version of this (with only 1500 minutes) for $129 so the discount would apply.
I went back and forth with them for a while because for the first 3 months they kept the discount on that Plus plan. Ive ALWAYS had discounts with my old SERO plans event hough they claim you cant. Out of the blue they removed my 25%, and I had no choice but to switch plans.
Don't forget on the eprp plans you get WiFi tethering for $20 not $30

It is called Everything Plus 500; it is the new Sprint Sprint Employee plan after the SERO price jack 2+ years ago. There is NO chance/NO possibility that you will get any sort of % employee/corporate discount.
However, if you were promised $20 or $10 credit, you may be able to get it reapplied if you fight for it.
For most people Everything Data 450 is cheaper after employee discount.
$89.99 for two simply everything lines w/1200 anytime minutes per line, unlimited web, unlimited text messages, unlimited mobile-to-mobile. Add $10 for the EVO service. I'm still cheaper than an Iphone plan on one line.

man I hope this doesn't turn into" sorry Sir" and a whole bunch of excuses. I remember a sprint employee in a store one time said that they must be crediting me the 20 because he didn't see the discount on my account

Hey guys, I was just wondering how much you guys pay for the data plan? I heard T-Mobile has an unlimited Android web plan for $20, does that include the HSPA+ network? I also hear some people getting it for $10 saying it's a really crappy phone. Also will the g1 data plan work for the g2's hspa+ network?
Thanks!
As far as I know there are three available data plans.
$10 should be the regular plan for basic phones, not smart phones
$20 should be for the phones that support wifi but have a 5gb limit before throttling
$30 should be the android data plan with the hrsp+ deal and I've heard that you can hit 10gb before tombile considers throttle your speed
That's just based on what I've read on forums and junk.
Thanks for the reply, oh man $30 a month for HSPA+? Looks like I'll just stick with the $20 after a month or two. Thanks!
and if you buy a phone at full price, the cheapest data plan can be $25 (no unlimited text). the cheapest call plan is $29.99.
actually, if you make 2-year contract, the cheapest total plan will be $79.99? month-to-month is $25 cheaper a month over next 24 months. so total 2 year saving will be about $600.
it can cover the full price of phone.
in addition, you can add/drop data plan anytime and they charge daily proportion of $25. if you are usually just home/office where wifi is there on weekdays but going out of town on weekend, you can add data plan online on friday and cut on sunday.
moreover, even if you don't have a data plan, you can access to the internet for $1.99/MB for emergency.
and T-mo has no interest installment. if you buy G2 now, you pay $70+ for first payment + tax, then start paying $25 from january for 19 months.
Thanks for the reply, MassimoM2! Sadly, I can not get the contract as I might switch carriers any time. The emergency $1.99/MB is interesting, I have a g1 without a data plan, and it tells me I will need a data plan to use the internet.
My main plan is to buy it for the full retail price and see whichever is the cheapest way to get internet. Looks like I will get the 24.99 plan since I already have text, thanks!

It's $20 per month cheaper IF you get your plan switched to the Even More Plus contract-free plan.
It's not cheaper automatically, as far as I know, if you're on a current contract rate and don't ask for the change...

No, it would be cheaper.
If you're not currently a T-Mobile customer, and you buy the phone contract free and at an unsubsidized price, you can ask for the Even More Plus plan, and you will get a rate that is $20 per month cheaper than people who buy the phone for $199 with a two year contract pay per month.
The Even More Plus plan is not available online any more, you have to go into a T-Mo store and ask for it specifically... I'm not sure Best Buy can/will offer it to you.
What I did with my Nexus One was go into a T-Mo store and buy the sim card before my phone even came in, then just plugged the sim into the phone when it was delivered.
I pay $59.99/mo for 500 talk minutes, unlimited text and unlimited web AND I'm not tied to any contract (well other than the monthly contract). You still get free nights and weekends and all that good stuff.
No reason to not buy the phone at full price and unsubsidized, unless you don't want to fork over $580 all at once. In the long run it's a better deal.

distortedloop is correct; T-Mobile's pricing is such that plans are marginally less expensive if you are not on contract.

Just so you know, ALL Nexus S's are sold unlocked. The word you're looking for is "unsubsidized", or full price.
People have been saying that Even More Plus (no contract) plans are $20/month cheaper than Even More (contract) plans. This is only partially true. The Phone+Text+Data plans are $20/month cheaper. Phone+Text (no data) plans, and data only plans, are $10/month cheaper.
The general Even More Plus plans are not available online (with the exception of the data only plan which I linked above). You'd need to go to a T-Mobile store (or call customer service) to get the general EM+ plan.

+1, yes you will save in the long run
I was in a loyalty unlimited plan ($84.99) for 2 years with my G1. Wanted to save more in the long run so I opted for the "non-contract" Even More Plus Plan ($59.99). I had to call Customer Care to be able to change my loyalty unlimited plan. So in 2 years similar to signing a 2 year cotnract, I save $250.
Like others suggested, buy the sim card for the Even More "Plus" plan for $59.99
and just buy the phone outright.
Even More Plus is really only beneficial for single lines. If you have more than one, it's not worth it.

Why's that? The cheapest Talk+Text+UnlWeb family plan is $30/month cheaper on EM+ than on EM. And the savings increast with the higher-minute plans.
where are you guys seeing EMP plans? i thought t-mobile got rid of them, i certainly can't find it on their site.
I'm still in contract with my G1 plan. $79.99 with unlimited talk/text/data.

Current Plan:
Even More 1500: $79.99
Data Plan (2): $40
Unlimited Family Messaging: $20
Two phones: Free til 2012
Total: $140
Even More Plus 1500: $119.99
Data Plan (2): Included
Unlimited Family Messaging: Included
Two phones: $10
Total: $130.00
That's only $10 a month cheaper for EMP. When I have to start paying the other two lines, it'll be $20 a month cheaper...which is the general consensus that EMP saves ($20/month).
$20 a month for 22 months = $440.
Now go to upgrade your phones. I need two smart phones and two regular phones.
Even more: Free (2 Vibrants, 2 Gravity T)
Even more plus: 2 Vibrants at retail ($400? each) and 2 Gravity T at retail ($175? each) = $1150 (this may be a high estimate) - $440 (savings) = $710
The difference I save each month on EMP does not offset the price I have to pay to buy phones outright.

I must be missing something. On T-Mobile's website, the EM1500 plan with unlimited txt + data is $160/month. Is your plan maybe part of some special? Or do you have 4 of the $10/month (200MB cap) data plans?
From your description, it's tough to tell whether you have 4 lines or 2 (since you say "once I have to start paying for 2 lines").
I realize we're kinda sidetracking the main thread here ... I'm just curious about your plan for some reason.
Just curious about what plan you guys are on. I currently have the $54.99 unlimited talk text and web for 2 years. For me it's the cheapest i have ever been with tmobile. Hope to see other cheaper plans.

T-Mobile has been screwing my wife and I over. We dropped a $10 month 3rd line 4 times already and it keeps being added back on. We were put on a Value Plan 7 months ago where we were paying $15 a month per line for Unlimited data and now all of a sudden its $30 a month per line.....plus they added $7.99 a month insurance to both of our phones that I never authorized.
They told us about the new "Value Plan" With unlimited talk+text+and data for $110 a month for 2 lines is what they told us.....but in order to do this we have to pay a $200 per line "Migration Fee" to the new plan which is the same price as cancelling our contract. I've been with T-Mo for 8 years and they do this? **** you T-Mobile.
I have an unlimited family plan for voice, text, and data and its about $50 per line for 4 lines.
I'm paying just over $100 a month for two lines for my wife and I. This is after a 15% discount as a government employee. We have unlimited texting, 200MB data each, and 1000 shared minutes. It seems we could be getting more for our money. I've called and asked about changing plans and they always tell me it would cause my contract to end which would mean we would then have to pay retail for our phones (MyTouch 4G and MT4G Slide). So far I'm not too pleased with the deal since they assured me during signup that my total monthly would be closer to $80 after taxes, fees, and the 15% discount. Any ideas?

Youre paying $100+tax for 2 lines right? I think you should be getting unlimited talk text and web for that price. Ask about their "customer care plan". Thats how i got my 54.99. They dont advertised it.
As for my situation, i wanted to get the sgs2 for $199. They told me in order to get that phone at a discounted price, i would have to get the $79.99 plan unlimited talk text and web(2gb highspeed). And if im getting the 54.99 plan, i would pay the whole price of 529.99. $230 down pmt and $15 charge every month until i paid off the balance. I did some math and i decided to get 54.99 plan and just get the phone when im ready instead of paying $80 a month. You think i chose correctly? The phone can wait, i just want to get a cheaper plan.

It just shuts off after 30mb, and you'd have to spend more or renew the plan early for more. Which kinda sucks, but I hardly use it - the first couple months (with my old hacked iPhone) I didn't even reach the limit.
Oh, and rough estimate, T-mobile EDGE is about 130 Kbps download/80 upload, that's what I've seen. Sorta like ISDN speeds.

1. There is no $15 data SOC for Value Plans. It's $10 for 2GB, $25 for 5GB and $55 for 10GB.
2. The insurance roots back to where you got the phone from. I advise going to them.
3. You say you're on the Value plan and you're still complaing about the Value plan having a migration fee. It's basically the discount on a phone. Value you get a discounted plant. Classic you get a discounted phone. You can't have both. So the "migration" is basically asking for the discount back. You can't double dip.
I think you're being misinformed and there is some miscommunication along the way. They do give you a break down of the bill when you renew any type of contract. You should have saved it. Could use that to argue the charges.

I have something similar. My sensation (international version) didn't work, so I was going to get the Android Preferred but I didn't want to extend my plan 2 years because of AT&T. I asked too and after consulting a manager the rep offered 5GB for $25 a month. (Its usually more). I just took the 200MB plan. ($10)
You're lucky
Well not that lucky. Turned out that rep LIED to me. (I asked him many times if I will still be paying $10 for my 5gb data and he said yes) 1st month I did end up paying $10 bucks, but 2nd month they charged me $25. I called them up and they refunded me $15 bucks and I also had to switch to Valve plan with 2-year contract. Now I get 2GB data for $10 bucks. My bill used to be $40 with 5GB and now its $45 with 2GB. (i only use 1.5-2.0GB max though)
I was pretty pissed....not really because I had to switch, but because of that STUPID rep.
never agree to the solutions they offer. Always ask them to fix the problem and remove whatever they added to your account.
then go to the store and start over. the "fixing" is always good on their end. it's on the books. you just agreed to a 2yr contrat w/out even a free phone

Correction, the T-mobile rep LIED to me too. Even after I repeatedly verified. There are overage charges on the $10 data plan. (They removed it for me after I called, but only once)
There are no overages only if you are on the "Value" or "Classic" plans. I am on the old even-more-plus no-contract plan.
Note: Only the classic plan lets you get a subsidised phone. And switching to "value" or "classic" both require a 2 year contract.
Sad t-mobile, sad.

They are usually nice on the phone...compared to att. No other carrier can match their rates either.
