Does the red one scratch easy?
Is the rubber made like the black one, just red?
Sent from my HTC Glacier
Actually, the red mt4g, and the other non black versions do not have the rubber sides. That's the main reason I'd choose the black over plum.

All the demo phones at the T-Mobile store were scratched when I went in there at 9:00am on launch day. They all looked really bad because the plastic is black underneath the red paint.
Much of the damage looks to have been done by peoples fingernails...but there were pretty bad scars on them from the security leashes that they put on them at the store.
The black was scratched as well, though not as noticeable...i ended up going with the white one mostly because of this reason...the piano finish will not scratch as easily.

So the black is the only one with rubber sides?
What do the other ones have?

I left my phone in the back pocket of my blue jeans, and when I took it out I discovered that my jean dye had stained the phone!
The metal was easy to clean off, but the white plastic casing looks to be permanently stained blue.

This is what happens when you dye plastic.
When I buy jeans with a dark wash, I wash them with my other jeans like 3-4 times before I even wear them. I've "dyed" plenty of other clothes this way.

I have heard that stains can be removed with a Magic Eraser - it is an american thing, try using a pencil rubber or similar
** Checked Amazon UK and similar and they are readily available in UK too
I did the same thing, I used a laptop cleaning wipe thing. Its cleans of in seconds, don't worry
My white bands have turned yellowish. Any tips for that?

Try cleaning with some isopropyl alcohol.
Try rubbing it really hard with a wet q-tip. I tried using a silver sharpie marker (permanent) on the bottom of the phone on the white to see what it would look like all silver, but the marker was blotchy and I didn't like it. So I just kept rubbing it really hard with a wet q-tip and after a few minutes it was all over. Used about 7 q-tips.
this is why I chose to get the black version. I figured the white plastic would look awful in a few months.
Tough call. I was going for white as if I chip it, black would look worse.

Just don't have a leaky pen in your pocket, the ink does not come off the plastic. Not quickly anyway.

May not be the case, I have black One, it seems the coating holds up quite well. And remember, even if it gets scratched, you can always use a black marker to cover the exposed silver, but on silver One I don't know if you can do this.

Hey, I heard somewhere that the black version was more of a soft touch (I'm picturing the Nexus 7 2013 feel) whereas the white is just textured hard plastic (which I can confirm after playing with the demo in store).
Can someone with the black confirm the feel of the battery cover? Soft or just textured hard plastic?

Nope. It's not the same.
I've touched both versions in store. White has more plastic touch while black is more soft. It's not soft-touch as usual. Just more hmm.. greasy? But feeling is much better than white.

I'm not sure if we're still talking about the note 3 ...... If we are, the black one has some sort of soft touch coating. It doesn't feel like the nexus 7, but definitely doesn't feel like the slimy plastic that Samsung usually puts out. The black one actually feels and looks like a premium device IMO.
I can confirm this to ..
I have the white one. the black back has a kind of a rubbery feeling to it.
I wanted to change to the black but I like the nice texture in the front bezel of the white. and white stands out between everyones black device ( no offence to black note owners )
As someone who has always been using black phones (be it iPhones or Android), I am a little wary of moving to the white version. I am buying it off forums and this person has only the white one to sell. People with the white one, are you liking it? Especially if you're coming from a black phone?
I'm with white and its good

I haven't seen the white version, but I bet it's just as great as the black. Might switch up if I like it more

White looks too Samsung Galaxy to me. Black looks more like a Nexus device. Ah, decisions decisions.
been having black phones for years now. My last one is iphone 5. Got a G2 white and like it a lot... kinda like iphone 3GS white.
White One looks elegant, Black one is men
I'm using white one, i like it

There's a thread discussing the black frame around the screen which becomes very visible on the white version.pictures of this frame made me buy the black one.

Oh wow. That is a deal breaker. Looks like black for me then. Thanks for the input!
With the black you almost feel like you have no side bezel and it does have that nexus look to it I had the white I could see myself looking at the side bezel more often cuz they were white

That guy was trying to seem as if the screen on the white phone seems smaller due to the bezel. Honestly, its the same & when I use it I don't even pay attention or notice. Play with both in the store and decide for yourself.
I have the white and its sick in person. Get nothing but complements everywhere I go especially because its more rare than the black G2

I got mine Black because:
1. Nexus-esque look
2. Looks awesome when screen off
3. I had a white Note for almost 2 years and wanted to change
The only good thing I see on the white one is that finger prints are not that visible.
Cheers!
white on the g2, because it doesn't show fingerprints, returned the black g2, looks kinda generic
black on the note 3 because its silicon like back
Black here. Cant remember being so much in love with the look of my phone before. I barely look at my girlfriend anymore.

Yeah i'd definitely recommend black. But be warned, once you go black, you never go back
many people here would say black but i personally am using white and i can say it looks absolutely gorgeous and best part no fingerprints!!, been using for a month now no signs of getting dirty either.
was in the same boat as you are, saw a couple of videos and always at the at end of the review the black unit would get covered with fingerprints couldnt stand it got the white and loving it
It's a personal choice.
Ask yourself whether you would dress in white from top to bottom (white hat, white suite, white vest, white pants, white socks, white shoes) or black one.
Get the white one. Seriously. The black one looks like its a s3 clone. The white one actually manages to look pretty and isn't a fingerprint magnet.

I chose Black because my previously phone was white. (Well silver and white HTC One but my Note before that was white). Sometimes it's good to switch it up. White if you like to stand out, black if you like the sleek look. Either way, you're gonna slap a colored case on it. Enjoy.

I think the "finger print magnet" thing is over-rated...got blown up by the reviews sites like gsm arena...so silly...every gadget in our lives is finger print magnet..that is the truth..but it is always up to the user....

The color of a phone depends on the owner's likes and dislikes I guess, right? So there is nothing to discuss about, you need to live with it, now we xda members So it's your call, and only yours

Which do you guys prefer? White or black? and why?
Black I have a white one and my ocd just goes crazy you will have to clean it more when its white
Sent from my LG-VS980 using Tapatalk
I've had a white one since november and its been flawless. No case either. No ocd issues. Guess it depends on the environment. I also like the white because it shows of the size of your screen better. This is the first white phone I have had and was worried i might not like it but those worries disappeared as soon as i open the box.

Definitely white. I love my white G2, looks way more elegant and distinctive.
I've had the unfortunate opportunity of owning both a black, and a white one which I got to replace my old one. The white definitely looks better and you can't see the fingerprints, also it looks more "premium" according to my family members.

white.
less fingerprints. Don't see much of other dirt stuff.
and best of all it looks different than all the blackies out ther.
White here as well. Looks cleaner than black even with all the fingerprints.

Looked at both and I picked black I have had a white note 1 and note 2 so I picked Black this timeso I can't be ocd about the black line around the screen being noticeable on the white model. No regrets on picking black
Sent from my LG-D800 using xda app-developers app
I have a black one and my best friend got a white one. I dislike the black stripe between the bezel and the screen on the white one... but except that the white is more impressive and hides fingerprints perfectly also the screenprotector is invisible on the white... so if you like the color white all the way:good:
I keep a soft touch case on my black one because of the horrible fingerprint problem. So really it didn't matter to me what color I got. Case helps you to find the power key easier too.
