Hi all, I'm new to this forum and think it's pretty awesome.
I have a UK Xda and upgraded to the latest official roms.
I did a full synchronise and also a full backup and went through the normal instructions, however I found that my sms-inbox messages was missing (along with other files) after re-syncing (after the upgrade).
I restored some files from the messages folder in my backup-image file (Backup.stg) to the windows/messaging folder in my xda, but cannot read these.
Is this the correct location for sms messages?
Is it right to copy these back to the original folder (I used HPCVault)?
Why can't they be read?
Is there a better way to restore my messages plus missed calls etc?
Any help would be appreciated - thanks
Dr Babz

It's good to developing software for sms backup. I would use it when there is also an option for restore. That would be great. Keep up the good work
Is it possible to restore these messages as well? If so, can you choose which messages (and or which folders) to restore? Is it possible to do this after a hard reset? Are the folders restored then as well? Can this be done automatically when connecting with ActiveSync - maybe with an option for auto deletion?

thanks a lot and keep up the good work
sorry... possibly a question you answered on your site, but read it and couldn't find the answer.
What file-type do they export to?
And does it extract data from mms .dat files, or just copy the .dat file?
thanks!
Output files .txt in \Temp\AllExport directory
The AllExport v2.0 program exports all data into .txt files in \Temp\AllExport directory.
The MMS .dat file is only copied into the \Temp\AllExport directory, but in the next version the .dat file will be decoded.

Hi There,
Included in the new Mobile 6.1 OS there is the SMS Threading.
Does anyone know how to restore your SMS correctly without breaking the threaded view? I have tried all kinds of different programs, and they all show that the restore has been succesfull. In some programs you can even view the SMS on pc.
But always the threaded view on the device itself is corrupt.
Does anybody know how to rebuild the view?
Thank you already,
SixFive7

Here is the solution:
Use SMS Chat to do backup and restore, then run the WM 6.1 messenger, the SMS list will be rebuilt.

Im thinking i can't just double click my sprite backup's .exe restore file and have it restore all my information after i install a custom ROM right ?
