Why can't the HTC widgets (calendar) be used with ADW? I'm not a huge fan of sense but I am a huge fan of the HTC calendar widget.
Does anyone know why the HTC calendar widget cant be used with ADW or is it possible to get the apk? I like the ADW launcher the most but would like to have the HTC widget does any one know if this is possible.
HTC widgets are tied to Sense, can't be done. Get LauncherPro he has sense-like widgets

Adw doesn't support it...and HTC doesn't want its widgets used with anything other than Sense....I would suggest using Launcher Pro Plus....they have widgets just like the Sense ones.....

Thanks for the info.
There is an app called smooth Calender in the market. It is pretty much identical to the HTC calendar. Widget. And it is customizable.

I'm looking to do the same thing. I would like to see if the windget apk's can be pulled with adb from the stock ROM. Is this a possible way toi get HTC widgets?

Everything "Sense" is tied into the sense framework and isn't usable in a rom that is not sense based. Widgets, apps, etc.
I like the jorte calendar over the sense one. Might give it a view.

is there any way to use HTC Widgets with other Launchers?
I've been wondering this too! I love everything about LauncherPro except the lack of widgets! I never realized how nice HTC's widgets are until they were gone
Nope, and nope!! The HTC widgets are tied into Sense, lose sense, lose the widgets. There are a few in the market that replace the cool ones like the weather and clock. Beautiful Widgets is pretty ill, and very customizable, worth $2 in the app market.

I have a HTC Desire and I recently installed a Gingerbread ROM with Oxygen, and I really miss the HTC flavour. Is there any way I could have HTC Sense or at least the stock apps back on this rom?
P.S.: I hope that I didn't post in the wrong place...
The gingerbread Rom is an ASOP Rom, sense programs will not runn as they need the associated HTC files also, if you run a sense Rom with another launcher over it you will see the programs will run but the widgets won't load, again they will only work with the sense launcher. You can get apps that replicate the look. Get Beautiful/fancy widgets for the clock, but the best is to get launcher pro and pay for the extra, the widgets are very similar

I found those apps in a rom, and as you said, it ain't work... It doesn't even install, only the camera app which crashes.. I wanted HTC Music back, but, fortunately, I found the Honeycomb leaked Music app, so it's cool.
Does the contacts app work in Oxy Ginger. I like the facebook pictures sync. Now all of my contacts are without pics

The Sense contact app won't work. Try SyncMyPix from the Android Market insread. Perhaps it can help.

Def try using launcher pro plus. the dev made widgets specially to look like the htc sense widgets. they're pretty good

THe one thing that gets me about AOSP is the fact that we can't have a calender widget like sense does. I've used launcher pro which has a very nice calender widget, but it seems not to run very well. Somone please develop a calender widget like the sense or launcher pro one (agenda view reeally).
There are some out there, but don't look nice
Colorize widget has a nice agenda calendar. It's free in the market.

Pure calendar widget.
Try out Jorte. Free on the market. So many features and customizations, you won't be dissappointed.
I use smooth calendar, on android market.
Its free, & the same as sense calendar widget....( little better if you ask me, you can customize the view even more).
and ITS ON CM7
Now I have wimax and my sense calendar widget, NO REASON TO GO BACK TO SENSE NOW>
What about a good scrolling agenda widget. Still hunting.

I use Android Agenda Widget Plus (paid version). Also has a free version. It is scrollable and is very customizable. Plus, I use it with TouchDown for Exchange

Thanks evyerone for the great responses - new apps I've never heard of. they are very promising - but I realized finally why you can't have one like the sense one or the launcher one - the launcher has to support "scrollable" widgets. Any how - as a result - i am using MIUI so there launcher isn't just yet scrollable - so it won't matter.
Thanks guys!!!

U will loose htc sense widgets whenever u use custom launchers. It is up to u to loose the htc widgets at the cost of using custom launchers for the performance boost.
But there are ways to have those widgets. For example launcher pro full version has almost same htc widgets.
And if u search the market or google for the widgets u need, u will mostly find all the things. So, try searching.

Pretty much I'm asking. Is there a launcher that is like adw and launcher pro but is compatible with sense widgets.
I've been looking but not finding.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
There isn't one. Sense, including the widgets, is proprietary to HTC and they are very quick to sue when it comes to their property. There are some skins available that make use of the google apps, calendar and music, that work well with LauncherPro. I've used Pure Music Widget by francois Deslanders and it has a nice transparent 4x4 widget.
Sad face...
Hmm I see the issue. No one would wanna do that work for free. Thx for quick response.

I've seen and tried some of the things you pointed out. But I guess I'm really just trying to make use of my sense rom. I'm using launcher pro and I love it but not being able to you the weather widget has always bugged me.

Beautiful Widgets has almost the exact same weather/clock widget as HTC, plus hundred of others to choose from. Only problem I ever had with it is it gets my location wrong sometimes.
Thx I've looked into beautiful widgets but I'm talking about the full screen weather widget the one with the forcast.
The reason I was asking was mainly because of the resizing of widgets in these launchers.

GO Weather maybe?

Yeah it only has a 4x1 weather widget which kind of sucks. Launcher Pro does allow resizing but it just keeps the same 4x1 widget and enlarges it to about 4x2 and it doesn't look good.
Cool so I just got done trying out the go weather app. Its not bad but I only really like it because of the live wallpaper.
But for that same reason It's not what I'm looking for. I do appreciate the idea. Oh well still looking.
I guess what I'm really looking for is that sense 4x4 forcast widget on one of my launcher pro screens. (I know not possible lol)

Hopefully they release their Sense SDK soon like they said they would.
Palmary Weather Pro is very close. I think it's a buck or 2 in the market. I love it.
