I have flashed Axura 2.0, Onyx 2.2, and Onyx 3.1. I used ODIN to flash back to JFD between each. I have deleted the data and cache for Maps, uninstalled and reinstalled, and installed the most recent update from the Market. I cannot get Navigation to work. I never had any issues with it on any 2.1 ROMs.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas?
Yeah I'm having the same problem. I just gave up on it working all together. Haven't discovered a solution that's permanent

So does mine, trying it on Axura 2.0.3, and it worked on Onyx 2.1 as well.
Mine has worked on every Obsidian Rom too. Not sure what the problem is. Is you GPS not working or are you getting FC errors.
Mine works fine also lol.
I guess OP got lost
working fine for me here. both on axura and obsidian 4.2

I was having , and so are a lot of people, the same problem on Obsidian.
We fixed it by going in and clearing out the data from Maps. Then after that Maps loaded the image totally fine with 3G

Yesterday I even had Maps/Navigation problems on stock. I had Onyx 3.1 previously on the phone, and kept getting messages like "location services are currently unavailable", "data connection lost- retrying" and a "login failed" message. Flashed back to JFD, same problems. Ended up calling CS to see wazzup with the network. Sure enough, the SOB started loading maps again.
Sounds more like TMO was struggling yesterday. Not our phones.

I had my gps stop working again and I got it to work again by doing this. See if it works for you.
First get CM6.1.1 and it's gapps
wipe data
format system
install cm 6.1.1
install it's gapps
boot into cm6
use google maps and get a lock
next get a cm7 nightly and it's gapps
wipe data
format system
install cm7
install its gapps
boot into cm7
use google maps and get a lock
report back to me thanks
i thought about trying that, then i decided to just go to seettings>applications>manage applications> maps and force stop and clear data, and it just worked. =]
jznomoney,
do you know if gps is being worked on to fix this problem? i appreciate the workaround, but its not too ideal if its still needed in the final release.
its still being looked into. google changes the way it handles gps calls in 2.3. So someone wrote a wrapper to translate the calls. It's not perfect since the gps library itself is closed source.
Closed meaning by google or by htc?
Thanks! Worked perfectly!

But even to a nandroid backup of cm7 this fix is useful - it was for mine. How can this be possible?
And, interesting that is CS. Then it's not about cyanogenmod not working with CS but rather with illegal sources, in the case of the HTC's FM drivers...? uhm...

The libgps.so is closed source by HTC.
i only got mine working after i flash my radio to 7.08.35.21... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=706435
but it took a while to have the GPS lock. and its to a point of 20m radius.
UPDATE: the 20m radius was made by half of the sky. I was on my office window. I tested in my car while driving. I get 8m radius.

This seems to fix it for me!
Restored a nandroid of Sense, turned GPS on, made sure the flashing icon was there when using maps.
Then just restored the RC1 nandroid and there it is.
Maybe it was because I had GPS turned off (with the HTC widget) before?
Ever since I flashed to Overcome 1.2.1 the GPS has been VERY wonky and just plain WRONG. Maps says that I am in the next TOWN which is a good ways away.
GPS Locks are extremely few as well and takes forever to lock on to.
Can anyone else confirm this and or help?
Bumping this up.
When you flashed, did you wipe your cache? With a new rom it always takes a while to reaquire your location. I use the app HereIAm2 from the market to get that first position lock after a rom flash.
Yes I did wipe the caches. Will try that app out if it is free.
Thanks.
EDIT: Noticed that the compass seems to be very inaccurate as well. Weird.

Oh well, that's the least of my probs;-/
i have installed OC 1.2.1 and at one point the whole tab became very sluggish....and all sort of issues appeared such as slow browsing.......then the tab would simply freeze! Reboot did not help at all....
I have since installed OC 1.2.3 with the new kernel and it went ok-ish. But today after rebooting i have all sort of errors (broken messaging service, when i click on the wifi tab to switch on, it says 'error'.etc).
I wonder if others have this sort of probs. I cannot understand how it can work fine for a few hours and then.....kkkkkkkk.
I have the UK tab version with firmware JK5; Also cannot figure it out why it does not show 'overcome v1.2.3 on the build number...it still shows v1.2.1, kernel overcome 97.
I'll have to reflash the lot now.......how annoying.
I am sorry that you are having problems. However hijacking threads is frowned upon here.....
Welcome to the XDA Forums otherwise.

The app is free.
How many roms have you flashed? Maybe it's time to do a factory reset, then flash the full version of the rom/kernal.
Well it did the trick and put me in the correct spot but the compass is still completely wonky.
Oh and this is the first ROM I have flashed. Overcome 1.2.1.
There are apps in the market for that. You want to calibrate the compass, so look for a gps utility. Sorry I don't have one to recommend to you.
Not a problem. I appreciate your advice and welcome any others as well.
One thought about the compass - do you have your tab in a case with a magnetic clip?
Mine works fine out of the leather case, but not when it is in the case.
Just a thought.
No I don't.
To test the GPS to see if there was any interference I put my iPhone 4 into compass mode in maps and did the same with the Tab using the Maps program.
The iPhone 4 was spot on....however the Tab was wrong yet again.
So that means there is no interference.
I am stumped here....and the recalibrate apps did not work either.
Just thought I would try a catch-up.
Since my last comment I moved from Rotos JMIv2 to Overcome 1.2.3 and my GPS also stopped. After 24 hours however, I have got it going through a the use of GPS Status (free from the market) and the LbsTestMode which you can access either through a dialler code or through SGS Toolbox, also free from the market.
To cut the story short, I went from just finding about 3 satelites (with no connectoins), to finding and connecting 10 satelites.
I must say that I am very happy with the current ROM and with the GPS Status program.
Hope this helps if you are still having problems.
I believe that if you dont have wifi or 3g on the tab GPS will not work..

Yes - I've always had the wifi going, but found that unless I had a phone (modem flash) and inserted a sim card, I could never get GPS to do anything.
Updated the stock rom, radio, kernel with wifi N fix. All but netflix working well or so I thought. Discovered today that the compass is stuck in between S and SW and not responding to figure 8s. Anyone else having this issue and know of a fix. Have seen a person or two mention it in my searches, but haven't sen much else. Don't use it much, but it's amazing what you miss when you don't have it. Thanks in advance.

Yup, plus I had the phantom voicemail notification. Downgraded to 2.2 and everything is back working correctly, waiting until these bugs are worked out before updating again.
Thanks. Misery loves company. Vmail notifications haven't showed back up for me in over 24 hours. Wiped the data a minute ago to the vmail dialer in Titanium a minute ago, but I'm hoping that part has mysteriously disappeared.

Not sure if my update went wrong or what, but my 3g speeds at full service was only 15k up and down. It was horrid. Combine that with other random crap not working, I was ready to throw it..
Compass stuck facing east after the upgrade to GB. Used the Rooted odexed upgrade available here.
Everything else seems OK but one of the things I use most on my phone is the compass with google maps, google sky or carr matey.
May have to back out the upgrade. Bummer.

exact same symptom. on MikGs 1.02.
Yep, same here. Compass app and Google Sky Map just kind of wander around a little bit.
Is this working for anybody after the GB update?
(wondering if it's just on certain rev phones)
Hello,
I am running EF02, I odined it, and I just found a huge issue, GPS Stops working after like 30 minutes of use. It basically turns off if you have it on too long.
Heres a way to replicate it:
Open Telenav, Enter an address, let it guide you for 30 minutes, and before that, you phone should vibrate (force close vibrate) and the voice over will say "cannot get GPS Signal in this area".
Is anyone else having this issue?
Thanks
I will try that tomorrow on my way to work. What is a good test and signal quality for the GPS? I downloaded GPS Test lite from the market. I am running EF02. I went in my back yard and the test program tells me 7-9 satellites in view, using 2, accuracy 18ft. Does that sound like a healthy GPS signal? Is there a better testing program?
That's a good program, the gps location and tracking works fine, but it stops working after a certain amount of time, and can only be fixed by reboot. I've never had this problem on froyo or eclair, I just hope sprint realizes this issue and fixes it
I actually had this same issue on 2.2 while i would use google nav. I noticed it when i took a several hour road trip about every hour to half hour id have to disconnect my gps and reconnect it.
I have the same issue too. For me GPS stops working in about 10 minutes of use. Google Nav would just sit there with trying to reconnect to GPS and says GPS signal loss. Tried EF02 and EF10 modems.
Used GPS Status & Toolbox app from market to get it working again instead of restarting the phone, but GPS still stops working in about 10 minutes of use.
In the mean time I might just flash back to ACS 1.1.1 or the new one just released 1.2
Yep. Mine does the same.
I'm having a couple of these GPS issues as well, never had them before. I've always been able to get GPS functional on every eclair, froyo, and gingerbread release until now (ef02).
GPS Test app shows around 8-9 satellites in view, and only 1-2 in use. Previously, I would always have 8-9 visible and 8-9 in use. I think this is causing my second problem which is:
GPS accuracy is way down over previous releases. It used to be near-pinpoint accuracy, now it's much less accurate. Today driving in to work, the accuracy was so bad that when I was on the highway and if there were secondary roads close to the highway, maps would often place me on those secondary roads and start telling me how to get back to the highway. I've never had this problem before. I'm also getting the telltale large blue circle in maps depicting the poor accuracy.
I'm also having the problem where GPS signal will just totally drop after 10-15 minutes of navigation.
I've tried the usual tricks with resetting agps, etc., nothing has worked so far.
Edit: I'm on the EF02 modem, not sure that it matters though
Wow that really blows, if this the case, I'm going back to Froyo ... I rarely use the GPS but when I do, it's for long trips and I can't have it dying on me traveling to places I am unfamiliar with. Thanks for the bug report on this OP, it seems everyone is having the problem, regardless of baseband EF02 or EF10.
Glad to find out it is not just me having this issue.

Same problem here. Went back to Froyo EC05, no problems again.

So far so good

+1 on that my brother! I believe the problem lays in the Ext4 Roms and the other modified roms. The stock roms work perfectly. This is the first time I am endorsing the stock roms. I believe our developers are trying to do a lot without the source code.

Odin the EF02 stock roms. They have a lot of work to do on the Ext4 Roms to get them to work properly.
Just had to vent (at myself, for not having the time to delve into non-stock ROMs the right way but still installing the leaked EF02): my GPS is completely wonky with EF02, and I've tried the EC05, EF02 and EF10 modems. None make a difference.
Now I'm debating whether to go back to EC05 and wait for the official link, or just live with it. Kicking myself...

It happens on EF02 stock as well. I had the same issues on a road trip I took after switching to EF02, would have to reboot constantly in my case to get it working right. Then tried flashing the EE03 modem, still had the problem. But as goku said, flashing to the EC05 Froyo modem seems to have resolved it.
I'm going to download it tonight and test it out. Hopefully, the massive bugs were fixed and we can have OFFICIAL Cyanogenmod 12 on our devices.
I just randomly checked yesterday and noticed it was back. I'm on 03/27 right now and so far, so good.

CM12 Noob
Nor sure if anyone is still following this post but I installed cm12 a few days ago and the only issue I can reproduce it the Bluetooth cuts out. I can't complain, it's way faster than touchwiz and it does not crash any more frequently. One issue I have noticed is that it doesn't seem to download MMS automatically but I've only noticed it when receiving a group txt in hangouts. I can't seem to find any good discussion groups on cm here on XDA. If anyone has a suggestion, I have a Spring Galaxy S5 and am quite new to flashing as well as forums, but pretty proficient with computers. Any help would be appreciated, Thx
If CM 12 is broken i dont receive calls but can do it, It is best to install MOAR

Need working Sprint Visual Voicemail apk for Galaxy S5 running Fusion Rom
I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong area. I have been running the Fusion Rom on my Sprint Galaxy s5. I love it, but cannot get any voicemails! Have tried a few apks, but no luck. Any info and/or download links would be very much appreciated!!
Susan
I just tried the 8/8 build. So far, pretty stable. I did try the full device encryption and it basically borked the installation. I got it to come back by clearing cache a few times (why a few times and not just once? Who knows.) but it was increasingly unstable at that point (random crashes, random boot freezes). I wiped and reinstalled and it's back to stable, so it's definitely the encryption. Going to mess with bluetooth today to see if that's been resolved yet.
Bluetooth still completely doesn't work. I can't even get it to connect. Not quite ready for prime time I guess.
So at this point, not worth trying? no BT? How's the camera?

I have been running the 9/26/15 build for three days and am experiencing the worst battery drain since the day this phone came to market.
