Just wondering if anyone knows if the Rogers Dell Streak that just got released with Rogers Wireless in Canada can be rooted all the guides don't show the build or anything else.
It is running..............
Baseband version:
GAUSB1A111732-US
Kernel version:
2.6.29-perf
OEM version:
GAUSB1A111732
Build number
7921
I would like to know this as well if anyone has tried updating to Steve's 2.2 rom

Universal Androot works with all the other Streaks, no reason why it shouldn't work with yours.
How to use it - http://software2tech.com/tag/download-universal-androot/
Rooting works on my Streak running the 2.2 (1.3) Steve Build.
So that works with the rogers one, awsome. Once I get home from work ill try it out. After the root was do you just go to stevens 2.2 website ? And download the files. Thats way easier then my nexus that I did at the beginning of the year.

Hi I would like to upgrade my father & a friend's Streak. They are both running US AT&T. I had messed with mine for 1 whole day before I could get to Froyo. I went to O2 1.6, then was stuck trying to get the 8105(O2 2.1) I eventually installed Froyo by using the CLEAN UNTOUCHED method.
I am not trying to go through this nightmare again!!!! Can anyone tell me if I install the 309 recovery image, then use Update.pkg with the 318 update if it will take them straight from 1.6 to 2.2. Or if I just perform the CLEAN UNTOUCHED method posted by DJ Steve will that work coming from ATT 1.6?
Install o2 1.6 and then it will tell you there is an update. it will download and install 02 2.2 for you
Thanks, I hope its that EASY!!!
After I install the O2 update, can I just upgrade using the 318 package, so that his phone shows as a unit ending in 00 baseband, instead of being tied to O2 network? Do you know if installing the O2 update will give him the 309 recovery?

What i would do is once you have upgraded i would put the 309 recovery on then run the 318 update no need to run the 02 2.2 update
The best and cleanest route is to use QDL Tool to go straight from ATT 1.6 to ATT 2.2 build 308 then apply the 318.pkg
whole process should only take about 30 minutes.
Tool can be found here: streakdroid DOT com /?page_id=15[/url]
its called repairtool on the right column
I tried the QDL tool, but since I have a windows 7 & 64 bit, there was a lot of driver changes that I needed to apply. Once I successfully had that installed it showed the QUALCOMM modem, but didn't show up as DIAGNOSTIC. So when I connected the Streak it showed up as some port.....but not what I needed it to show as.

This is a confusing post LUFC What am I upgrading to in the 1st place? Are you saying once I have O2 4399, then flash 309 recovery, then 318 Update.pkg?

Yes mate thats the way to go
Tied to the o2 network? OK, so what's the disadvantage of being tied to the o2 network?
Hmmmm maybe I should go back to o2 2.1 and upgrade to 18 instead of 19? I remember seeing some tweaked kernel files thread that might help this thing run better.

Nevermind, really, im sticking to what ive got until the official us version comes out. So, another 6 months then
I would advise against that Carhigh....You would be missing out on all the wonderful capabilities of the Streak and Android 2.2. What Baseband & version of Android do you have installed now?
I'm already on o2 2.2, 619 I think. The one released last week. I was wondering why people are going to 618, instead of the over the air 619, which is what I did. And instead of screwing around with it, might as well wait for official us 2.2 then just go to that. Shouldn't be to long of a wait, but who knows how long it will really be. Unless going fro 619 to 618 is really worth it.......

I have Dell Streak Build 3883 with O2 1.6 and i want to upgrade to 2.2 but when I try to update any thing from my sd card LCD becomes blank what to do
Have you flashed a new recovery? Which version of 2.2 are you trying to update to? Also, this doesn't belong here. Check out streakdroid.com for guides. Your best bet may be to use QDL tool.

Moving to General
I decided to update my Streak to the official build 340 today and it installed but I now have the flashing lights thing.
I used the streakmod to install the update. I tried using rom manager to do it but it doesn't work.
Is there something I can do to stop the flashing lights?

Oh, this might be because I didn't go back to 1.6 from 2.3 build 309.

I had this issue going from 318 to 341. Wondering what the solution is

Why are you guys going from an unlocked build to a locked at&t build? You're only gonna havebless features and more preinstalled at&t bloatware.

I am just trying the official build to see what it's like. I need my phone for work and can't really deal writh instability.
Is DJ Steve's latest build stable? I can't get a clear answer to that question.

i am trying to go to a successfully loaded post froyo 2.2.2 build with little to no bloat...trying to load 322 now and see if that baseband will work to 341.

Its different for each person. I started with a fresh 309 build then upgraded to a factory reset 318 and didn't configure anything then flashed 1.8.0 and had zero issues. Upgraded to 1.8.1 and still have zero issues. Everything works great on mine. I use it as my everyday phone. But like I said others haven't had it that smooth but I'm not sure if they came from a complete factory reinstall like I did.

Go check out the tutorial for using the QDL tool on streakdroid.com. It'll get you to a stock Dell 2.2. A word of advice though, the tutorial has you download all necessary drivers, but does not give the step for installing the ADB driver. The driver is there, you just have to pick the proper one for your system.

Yes I did the QDL tool thing and the hard part was getting the right drivers for the qualcom thing and then the ADB tool.
But, it worked. I briefly had streaddroid 1.8.1 on my system. It looked alright and my phone worked. I didn't test wifi though since I moved on to the QDL tool trying to get to 2.2.2 which I'm really confused about apparently.
Once you use QDL to get 2.2 make sure you do system updates after that to get up to the most current build.

I am running the 345 baseband and continue to have wifi issues after an hour. Since 347 is the new latest OEM, anyone know how to extract the baseband and modem? That way I can be up to snuff?
I might call dell support today and see what's they say

I too would like this baseband. I am on steves 1.9 and am using baseband 318, but want the most current one. If someone could post the 347 baseband I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
update to 347
I'm also looking and/or waiting for someone to upload the most current baseband.
I'm currently running Steve's 1.9 with the 318 but would love to update, not sure if there will be any advantages, I just like to know I'd have it
Manii's page on streakdroid.com has the basebands for 345 and 350, check it out here http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/
Update to 345
Thanks fone-fanatic... I've been doing some heavy reading tonight though in many forums and I finally ran across a thread in MoDaCo that stated that 318 was the latest version with performance mods. So, for the moment I think I'm gonna stick to the 318 until Steve has recommends an upgraded version of one of the newer basebands. I figure that's the logical thing to do.... but you're still gonna get a thanks from me fella!!
Thanks for the link to all the dell files! I downloaded the 350 amms file and flashed it to my dj steve 1.9 streak and havent had any issues. I would like to know what the differences between the different amms files are though. I will report back any issues I have. I wish 347 was up there also, but I'm glad I have the latest baseband at least. Hopefully there are some improvements.

I am wondering if baseband and modem affect the wifi radio. Mine drops out every once in a while killing all network connections stopping email

just tried twice to flash the files in the 350 folder and I am still on baseband 345
Anyone find the 347 baseband or knowmwhere to obtain it?
Thanks!
I'm currently on DJ_Steve's 1.9 ROM
Looking on my ABOUT page, I see that I am running Baseband version 318
(GAUSB1A131800-US).
Which is the best one to be on at this point? Should I find the baseband for 351 and flash that? If so, would I need to reflash the ROM back over the top of it?
What baseband is everyone else running?
Baseband Change
I'm not really qualified to answer your question, but since no one else has chimed in to help you out I'll tell you my experience. I read somewhere in these Streak forums that 318 BB is the recommended BB for SD 1.9, etc. I've also read that a lot of people are successfully using BB 351. I was using BB 305 and updated to BB 351. I didn't notice any difference in the performance of my Streak running SD 1.9. If you want to update anyway then go themanii's page and copy the amss file you want to try, http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/. All you need to do is copy the amss file you want to try and then fastboot flash it to your Streak. You'll be good to go.
I am running 351 also, works just fine for me.

For what its worth:
I have upgraded to 351. I simply downloaded the amss.mbn for 351, booted into fastboot, flashed it, then restarted.
Everything works just fine. I'm testing battery life today, but so far it doesn't seem to be any different on the surface.
It works, though.
I'm using 318, just because I think that's the one that QDL tool gives you, and I have never changed it...
Or maybe it came with 318- can't remember. If I knew of a goodreason to change, I would...

QDL gives 305 iirc.
