[Q] Difference between G2 & D-Z ?? - G2 and Desire Z General

Hi, my friends, I'd want to buy a Desire Z on Ebay as there have no reseller selling it in Melbourne.
But some of them are marked as T-mobile G2 and some of them are HTC Desire Z.
Is there any special differences between them?
Because they look the same, their config are same.
But T-mobile got a cheaper price on Ebay.
And even here, in XDA forum, G2 ad DZ have different pages for them.

Difference between G2 and Desire Z
I believe the only difference is that the DZ has HTC sense and G2 is stock vanilla android. maybe different frequencies also?

Get the Desire Z. Because the G2 is limited in its frequency bands if I remember correctly. Its also locked to T-Mobile, I specifically bought a DZ for myself because its unlocked and quadband so that it'll work on Vodafone in Sydney =)

HTC Wildfire A3335 on AT&T

Does anyone have any experience with running the Wildfire (A3335 with 850mhz band) on AT&T?
Thanks
Ok, so nobody is running the Telstra Wildfire on AT&T, but is anybody running it on one of the other carriers that have 850 mHz 3G, like Rogers? What is your experience?
Thanks!
Should work (i have a 3333 and am from the UK and am unable to test it)

Thanks, I appreciate the offer though.
I'm running an imported Telstra A3335 on New Zealand's XT network which is 850MHz band.
Some people here also import AT&T Captivates to use on the same network, so I'm sure a Telstra Wildfire will work fine on AT&T.
Just make sure its unlocked first and be prepared to put up with the Telstra splash screen.
I've decided to just go with a T-Mobile HD2. I'm not worried about only having edge speed, so that's easier.
Thanks

HTC inspire 4g (Desire HD At&t ?)

Is this the at&t version? If so I can not wait.

Looks like it. Plus this one has 4G antennas.

4g ? So this means it is diffirent hardware? Like the difference betwn gsm and cdma?

It's still GSM but supports the upcoming 4G LTE. It should work on European networks, but only at 2G speeds, just like the DHD works on US GSM networks.

Why not just release Desire HD for the whole world? Why restrict it to EU and then make a slightly different one with a different name for US? Weird... s:
Because North Americans like to be "unique"
Is not us north Americans who want to be unique, In this case AT&T wants to have its way as always and restrict the phone and add their usual brand crap. If only HTC would sell it US VERSION UNLOCKED I would pay 600 for it.
I think the mentality is different in the US. People don;t usually buy SIM free phones at the full price there. Most get locked in a contract in which you get a free phone.
Moreover, the US uses different 3G bands than the rest of the world (except Telstra).
HTC Inspire (AT&T) is in FACT a Desire HD (ACE).
There will be plenty of good firmware available for it, including CM7.

The inspire is not a desire HD, for starters its a 4G device, so it will need totally diffrent radios, as for roms, i wouldnt be suprised if it had a revised hardward setup meaning it will need its own roms...

HTC DESIRE HD A9192 real? when?

So, I live in Chile and sold my phone (HTC HD2). The HTC DESIRE HD A9192 works with 3g in my country and I read it would be reliesed soon.
I saw some companies that sold them pre order:
https://www.electronicbazaar.com.au...tatus=null&utm_source=getprice&utm_medium=cpc
https://www.celluloco.com/product.php?productid=3190&cat=125&page=3
I read online that they are kinda sketchy.
So what do I do? look for another? wait till it apears on ebay? I do need a decent phone. I am using a */*-* one!
Advice?
I can't see any difference.
Update: Perhaps it is the 'Black' version? http://www.eurodroid.com/2011/01/orange-uk-to-stock-htc-desire-hd-black/

I assumed the first link was stale.
Also meant the difference between A9191 & A9192.

G'day mate,
Welcome to Oz. Hope you have an awesome stay, however long it is.
I've tried numerous radios, and have always come back to 26.09.04.11_M2 for significantly better clarity, coverage, and data speeds. This has invariably been the case for my mates with rooted Desire HDs too, with both Sense and AOSP ROMs. Hope it works for you too.
Cheers.

[Q] G2 usage in Japan

Anyone has tried using the G2 in japan before with a bmobile data sim?I am going japan in November....
I haven't traveled with mine. However, if you check the thread for unlocking, you can unlock the LG G2 for around $2. Then you can check KDDI, Softbank, and Docomo's bands online and see which is compatible. My educated guess is that you'll be limited to HSPA + and Softbank will work since they use GSM.

oic. sorry but what do u mean by one can unlock the G2 for $2? which thread are u talking about? TIA
Hello,
I'm not sure which model LG G2 model you have, but all GSM versions are very similar other than primary radio differences. Assuming that you don't have an unlocked version, you can unlock your device for $2 at www.unlockcode247.com .
Once unlocked, you can use it in Japan on any provider that uses a SIM. You'll most likely be limited to HSPA speeds. In fact, the Engadget review was done on an unlocked LG G2 in Japan.
