Help With Battery - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I am pretty new to all this stuff and was wondering what configuration of rom, radio, and so forth will get me the best battery life.
Also what does hsp3 do?
Very new to this and will try anything to get better battery life.
Thanks!

battery life?

Hey guys,
Quick ?. On my wing, with the stock tmo rom, the battery life is awesome, when I run the herald 6.1 rom, it goes to crap, I have to charge it every day.. Is the 6.5 any better? Or, what would you suggest?

I only used 6.5 for a few days, but from my observation, it's not getting any better in battery life. It may got worse since more cpu intensive. In theory and from my experience, 6.1 and the stock rom should have similar battery life. It might be your rom. Some roms (not to attack the cooks, do get angry at me) may have bugs the kill battery faster than others. So my recommendation is to try another rom. A clean one always best. Another thing to try is to use homescreen++'s dynamic cpu scaling. Could save you some battery to under-clock for non-essential time. Someone says this helps and some says no. So try it and have fun.

All the roms so far are pretty much the same... same base, same tweaks. Only difference is maybe some theme colors and different lockscreen. Maybe some changed icons. So the battery is pretty much the same on all of them. Radio and sd card you use is what makes a difference in battery life.
It's not about which rom will give you more battery life,
it's which radio will give you best battery life, that should be the question
you should be asking.

Best rom for battery?

Topic says all, and I still get bad reception no matter what rom I use? D:
~Tapatalkin' from my Optimus
A rom that is stripped of all bloatware and unnecessary options is the best for battery life, as well as the newest radio, which should fix your reception issues.
Keep in mind that thing such as screen brightness, auto syncing, and gps will also be detrimental to your battery life.

[Q] ROM with the best battery life?

Exactly what the title says. I've been looking here and there for some ROMs that I would like to flash and I found quite a number of them to try out. However I want to hear from the experts who have been flashing custom ROMs all the time. What would you say would be the best ROM on battery life? I am currently running Hyperdrive RLS21 and I'll say it does decent on the battery life albeit the standby time can improve (I lose around 10% in a night if I leave it 100% uncharged).

First off battery life is subjective and usually has very little to do with the ROM. It is the kernel and settings which usually have most affect on battery life amongst the same user. This is not something you can compare from user to user but must be compared by the same user under the same conditions.
Let me give you some examples..a heavy gamer will get vastly different battery life from a heavy phone/text user. A person in low signal areas that has many apps synching will get horrible battery life compared to someone who has very little apps or great signal. I think you get the idea.
Kernel settings such as governor/scheduler/OC/UC choices will vastly affect your battery life. You really either need to compare ROMs yourself, or find someone that has compared ROMs under the same situation and similar use as you to get any useful data. I see that you asked for opinions from those flashing many ROMs. Other factors can affect that too...were they all clean flashed? Were any adjustments made?
Hope this helps! And hope you find the perfect ROM for you! Happy Flashing!

Problem is that I'm on a locked bootloader (ATT variant) so it's only natural that I should ask for a ROM that could give the best battery life since I can't flash any kernels
I'm no expert but I've been flashing ROMs for my S2, now my s4 for last 3 years. I've found recently that Tesla has the best battery life, 4% drain over 8 hrs at night. Best ever

Best battery life (?)

Hi guy's.. looking for rom with very good battery life. Is someone can help me with that? I'm using custom rom for long time, anybody here knows how is the battery life on stuck?
