I am working on finalizing a dual-boot method that should work on any android phone. This will allow you to run 2 seperate ROMS quick and easy. It can also be changed to allow for more ROM's if needed. This will not require a different recovery and will be ran completely from the phone
I need some testers so I can test it out on multiple phones. Please leave a post on here on who is willing to test it out and I need one person to also post the printout from this command..
Make sure your phone is plugged in to your computer
Code:
adb shell cat /proc/iomem
If it doesn't return anything please post the print out for this..
Code:
adb shell ls /proc
Code:
cat /proc/iomem

I should have this finished by Sunday. It makes it so much easier to do everything from the computer, because of all the tools available. There was no way to resign a .zip after it was modified so I had to go a different route. Looking at the easiest way of doing this.
Count me in for testing. I'm still under warranty so...
I don't want a brick, but I don't care if I get one. haha.
Look over there for me email. Message me when it's ready??

With this bootloader can we switch between for example cyanogenmod and openmoko/debian installed on sdcard?

Its not going to be a bootloader. Just a flashable zip that will set everything up and some scripts to be run in gscript.
I can look at the debian setup and write something up.

** TRACKER **
I have developed a tracker on the VBN Server which gets triggered when a new Stock Evo kernel is available for HD2.
Original Files : http://oe.netripper.com/files/htcleo_autobuild_evo_tree/
Latest kernel is compiled when a new commit is available here : http://www.gitorious.com/linux-on-wince-htc/linux_on_wince_htc (This is checked every 30 mins)
----------------------
My Server checks every 5 mins the buildlogs and extracts the *.ko and zImage files and places them here : http://www.vbnfiles.com/xda/vbn/Kernels/StockEvo_Latest
It also sends out a email with details of change and links to download the kernel.
This is mostly useful for people who are on Stock Evo kernel and update it every new build for testing
If you want to be on the email list, please PM me your email address and I will add it to CC.

great jobs man..i sent u a pm..add me in your email list..TQ
Yea I just pm'ed you too. Thanks VBN
* All the PMs have been added to the "bcc" list on the alerts
* Check Interval changed to 5 mins
* It now also creates a zip file in the vbn folder for easy download
Thanks for the awesome work!
@dubie76 : Added !
Everyone on the list may have got redundant email...thats because the tracker restarts when email address is added/removed ... .its fixed now and should not trigger a first run everytime
You have pm from me.....thx!

Found the problem...the buildlog comes up immediately but the actual modules and kernel takes time to come in which caused the old download....
I put in a delay of another 5 mins once a new build is found
Files are updated in the stock directory now...
this is great work !! thanks !!
OK I decided to modify the thread content to "all about the StockEvo kernel" ... kind of a place to discuss the commits and how it effects us...more focussed on end-user experience.

Hello guys!
Do you know which kernel is supporting swap? I'm right now on MokeeOS 12.05.2013 (4.2.2) I think with some edited quarx kernel.2.6.32.9.
I was trying to add our Defy's to aromainstaller of TurboBoost so I done that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38668890&postcount=556
But in logs everything works except swap:
Code:
>result of free:
total used free shared buffers
Mem: 488500 133996 354504 0 4220
-/+ buffers: 129776 358724
Swap: 0 0 0
Script creator said that it is realated with my kernel, it doesn't support swap.
Now I have request for you guys. Please follow above instruction on your kernels and report if sucess to User: Harbir
My friend has this Turbo on his HTC and it's very promising. More info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145133
Thanks!
I have tried the methods here on 2 different computers, with hours and hours of troubleshooting, switching port #, reinstalling drivers, and it always fails. Ive also tried just using the LG Upgrade tool and that isnt working either. When I try the method in the thread I linked above I keep getting "Page_Error ºÎºÐÀÔ´Ï´Ù". And when I try to "Recovery Upgrade option in the LG tool it goes to the download and just hangs there. I need to get it fully stock to send it back. Heres the log from the "Page Error" one. Any help would be appreciated. Ive been up way too long on this and need to get some sleep. Thanks

I had the same issue at first with a bad download. The one I have now is 1.64gb. I wish I had a way to install or use an XP machine but I dont. Other than virtual machine. If thats my only way of getting it to work then I will. What I dont get is how others were able to get it to work in that thread. Thanks
Look in this forum, someone just posted a new easier way

Now that Ive had some sleep Im giving it another shot today. Ive tried to download that file several times and it always downloads 14mb of it and then stops. Ive even tried other sources, same thing. The closest Ive ever gotten was 1.57gb from a different source. Ill keep trying. Ok, I found one that seems to be downloading the full file. Its from Post #7 in same thread where the Post #6 is that you mentioned. Its also the one that I did yesterday that ended at 1.57gb. I hope it completes this time. It says it 1806413KB, so when its done Ill make sure its exactly that. It would have helped if some of these had MD5 sums. Ive read others beside myself that have had issues due to bad downloads trying to restore their G2's.
Well once again the download failed. It stopped at 768mb. Ive never had issues with downloads before and have a 50mb/ s connection so I dont know whats going on. Ill try a different browser.

You've tried downloading from this thread in post 6? I have wetn back several times using the described method, i was on my phone yesterday, so it appears that I didnt copy and post correctly. sorry about that. Try the method below, its kind of long process, but hit me up if you need help, working on a couple of papers for school today, I might be able to guide you through if need be.

You could try a different browser, or a download manager.

Yes, Ive tried that download multiple times. Same thing on 3 browsers. I switched to another browser and am currently downloading from here. Hopefully it finishes. I have no problem getting the process done as long as the download will finish. Im sure that is why it doesnt finish.
I don't have a tmobile phone, but I could download it and do it on Dropbox for you if need be, or someone who had it could do it for you. Let me know

OK, I was finally able to complete the download and return to stock. For anyone else that was having issues with "page error" for me it was an incomplete download. Firmware D80110C should be exactly 1.72gb once its complete. And thank you to everyone that helped me.
