Remote PC file access from Gnex

How can I remotely access my PC (windows xp SP3) from my GNex? Not just through WiFi but 3g/ 4g also when I'm not home. I tried to install team viewer but the installation fails because I'm running pirated windows. Tried to do a fix to make it legit but still can't pass WGA test. Says unsupported operating system .

1) Get a legal version.
2) VNC.
3) Get Linux on your computer ASAP so you're legal.
Any other options? I'm not looking to pay for windows, set up a complex network, or install a completely new os on my PC.

[Q] Amazon Prime on Nexus Player

Ok... so I've got the old Amazon App Store APK file - the good one with the built in app store. I side loaded to my Nexus Player and launched it.
Problem is - I couldn't log into my account. I would get alternately "Provide a valid email" "Network unavailable" and just a rotating wheel of doom.
When I ran it and skipped log-in the app ran just fine.
I'm trying to access my Amazon Prime account so I can play video (Amazon Prime is a lot like Netflix but has some content Netflix doesn't have).
Any idea as to what I could be doing wrong (no it's not my password or email). Is there any other way to access Amazon Prime Video on the Nexus Player? Has anybody got it working?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Probably not compatible with 5.0. Try the newest apk although Im sure Amazon will probably block this on the NP as they want you to purchase a fire device.

I tried the newest apk (Amazon 5.2.2, Instant Video 1.0) and it crashes at when you try to start playing a video. It does not look like a concious attempt to block it from working, though I doubt they will work to explicitly support the Nexus Player. I'd love to get this working on the NP if possible though. Does anyone have any ideas? If it helps, here is the exception from logcat:

Its not a 5.0 thing as it runs on the Nexus 9
Same experience here....the amazon app and the instant video supplement apk does install and works ok if you use a mouse. But it crashes on playing a video.
Fire TV has an Instant Video app. I don't have one, but if anyone here does, maybe it is possible to extract the Instant Video app (and other apk's that it may depend on) off the Fire TV and install it on Nexus Player? I assume that app is different than the phone app and has a leanback interface and works well with remotes.

I can confirm it works on lollirock. To navigate you need a mouse. It does not show up on the lean back launcher though.

I can also confirm that all amazon apps that I've tried are working perfectly. Music, InstantVideo, store all up and working!

Hello,
You can screen cast anything to the player if you have a rooted device with 5.x. Just install this and enable, i watched a full movie from Amazon Prime without any issues. http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193

Has anyone found a way to get this to work yet?
Like the post above. Amazon plug-in for Kodi(xbmc)
Amazon instant video for android is crap to begin with compare to iOS version. Anyway, I've tested it out using Kodi with Amazon instant video plugin. Works like a charm with a much easier UI to navigate through.

App will not work / wrong platform

Hi everybody,
I hope I am in the right forum for my problem.
My parents are reading their local newpaper only digital as an ePaper.
There was an official app from the newspaper and on their Fire Tablet 10 HD everything worked perfect.
I have to say that I downloaded and installed this newspaper app with the Google Play Store.
Now there is a newer version with a big update of the app.
When I start this newspaper app it says "This app ony works on '%1$s' platforms".
But I am pretty sure this app will still work on this Fire HD 10.
Is it somehow possible to "fake" to have another deivce or android version?
I think this newspaper app checks something like the device name or Android version.
I tested this newspaper app with Bluestacks on my PC.
If the virtual device is named „Amazon Fire HD 10“ the app shows the error message like mentioned in my first post.
But when I rename the virtual device to „Samsung Galaxy Tab“ it will work...
So I think I only have to rename the Fire HD in the settings into another device.
Has anyone an idea? BuildProp Editor maybe?
