Can someone tell me how to copy the firmware from a Samsung Galaxy please? I know you use Odin to reflash it, but I would like to back up my phone properly before I do anything like this as a precaution.
What software do I use to do this?
Failing this is there anywhere I can get a copy of the O2 Andriod 2.1 * I9000ADJM1 ) firmware as it appears to be the only version I cannot find anywhere on the interenet?
Thanks
Max

Hi guys
Just installed the new keies software and it said the froyo update was out for my handset (galaxy s) it downloads the update really slow (takes about 20 mins) and then then after it reaches 100% the phone disconnects from the PC and the andriod constuction logo appears on the phone, then shortly after i get an error message from kies telling me the upgrade didnt work and that an emergancy repair is needed..
Ive managed to recover the phone back to working order, but is there anyway i can get this update?
p.s phone was unlocked with the tool from these forums when we had it, if that makes a differance
There are many problems with kies while upgrading the firmware. When you get the error - did you read the error? At times it says something about a "rapi.dll" file missing or any other file, just download that file and it should work.
Best alternative is download the firmware from samfirmware (stock) and flash through odin, it hardly takes any time.
If you want your genuine network supplied firmware i would use the Kies Registry Patcher as this allows you to save the downloaded rom in case of problems .
Failing that as advised the stock rom but that is not what came with the phone its generic non network non branded .

This is not a big deal, just click on emergency when it appears and kies will proceed, it might say that it will download the firmware again or might use the firmware that is already downloaded.
Can somebody point me on kernel for JVQ supporting Voodoo Color? Thanks.
Hi,
I just installed kies today and got a message that my tab (p7510) has not an official firware and cannot be updated. I bought the tab in canada and live in germany.
Afterwards I used odin to flash xwkg7 (only pda, not bootloader).
Since then Kies does not show the current firmware anymore. The field is blank.
Any ideas how I can fix this?
Klaus
I have the same problem.
I found the solution by myself.
I just flashed with odin "PDA". This caused that /system is overwritten, which is good. However, I did not install "CSC" which is usually also copied to /system. As a matter of fact, I didn´t have the csc stuff and this caused Kies to freak out.
Solution:
Use odin to flash PDA *and* CSC at the same time!
Never ever flash PDA alone, because then your csc files are gone.
Hope this will help someone
However, now Kies tells me that I do not have an official firmware version on my tab and thus no updates through Kies are supported. Damn... Ideas?
Hello Klaus,
This I had already tried again and got the message as you've described. Who can help us.
Hello everyone, I'd like to start off by saying I am a complete newcomer to all this so please explain literally all of the terminology/jargon you intend to use and correct me when I use it wrong.
I have a Chinese version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N9109W and up until yesterday it was running out of the box on android 4.4.4. I care not for any of the data on the phone nor the warranty as there was none to begin with when it was gifted to me.
I attempted to "root" it as I didn't want any of the Chinese apps/restrictions on it but have failed miserably and now my phone is stuck in a bootloop.
I was following this guide if it helps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/root-note-4-sm-n910c-t2977948 and downloaded the appropriate Snapdragon version (SM-N9109W).
I cannot enter recovery mode by holding down *power+vol up+home* as it just keeps on rebooting. I can, however, get into the downloader by holding down *power+vol down+home*.
I have tried for the entirety of today to find a specific guide for the Chinese note 4 on xda, youtube and google but to no avail - nothing that I can find is identical to my situation and I am hesitant to do anything further to it by following a similar guide in case I make it worse.
I have repeatedly seen suggestions to "flash" stock rom and as I can get into the downloader I believe this would be a great starting point, but once again I am afraid to do anything without a specific guide for the N9109W.
A few people have referred to SamMobile to download stock rom, but a search for SM-N9109W lists 8 files for 4.4.4 and I believe I have no way of working out my PDA or CSC, yet again I don't know what these even are and they might not be relevant?
Any assistance in getting my phone's software back to "out of the box" conditions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you for your time and patience,
Ryan
If you can enter Download mode then you can flash that firmware you found matching your device's exact model no. via Odin. Just put the ROM in AP/PDA tab (PDA for older Odin versions, AP for new) and hit start.

Thank you ithehappy for the reply,
When I search for the stock firmware on SamMobile, I type in my exact model number (SM-N9109W). This search returns with a list of multiple different versions for my phone, of which 8 are 4.4.4 (my initial version).
Does it matter which version I download and install?
To my knowledge, I have no way of finding my CSC or PDA unless you know of a database I can use to search the information that is physically on my phone? Once again, does it matter that I know what these are or can I simply download, for example, version 5.1.1 and flash that on instead of my original 4.4.4? Or, will this just cause further possibly unfixable problems?
Thank you for your help
Anyone?
No, you can download any one you want.
Thank you for the help, ithehappy. I now have a working phone!
For future readers, I downloaded the latest version of 4.4.4 that SamMobile had (2015-03-27) for my model (SM-N9109W):
PDA: N9109WKEU1ANL3
CSC: N9109WCTC1ANL3
It failed the first time I tried flashing with Odin 3.10.7, but whilst I was hastily taking screenshots of my problem to post here I accidentally started the transfer again and it successfully installed that time.
I followed the instructions on SamMobile for the installation.
This version of the firmware I installed does not have any google services (thank China for that), so keep that in mind.
Thank you
Hi,
I recently purchased a Galaxy Tab 4.0 Lite (SM-T337a). I successfully rooted it using Kingoroot but upon restart the entire operating system seems to be gone. It is an overseas tablet (AT&T) that I got through the classifieds here in Australia.
There was nothing on there so I am not worried about losing data, I just want to be able to restore some form of OS onto it.
I can get into Android System Recovery <3e> and have tried installing the stock firmware through the SD card, but so far nothing has worked. I'm also having trouble getting my PC/Mac to identify it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

download this and make the process

you have to flash the official firmware that you can find in sammobile and flash it whith odin. it should that your device is in download mod : down key home and power bottom on the boot
Look for the stock firmware for your model in this thread or somewhere in SamMobile, the language specified doesn't matter anyway cause you can always change that in setup but make sure that you've got the right one for your tablet. Then flash them using Odin
Hi there, I recently moved from an old samsung phone to the huawei p10 and I made the rookie mistake of not
backing up my stock rom before rooting my phone. Now when I try to update my phone with the new firmware (I tried the partial update and full update file) they both did not work. I also tried the dload method since I have a micro SD card in my phone, but after doing more reading in the user manual it suggests that since my phone is rooted I will not be able to apply the update.
I was wondering if anyone knows where to get the stock rom for model WAS-L03T so I can fix this. Please and thanks
I have had a look around but can't find anything but, filmware finder might have it. Link to the playstore app below. They also have a PC version.
You will need to flash stock recovery to be able to flash stock filmware.

Hi there, thanks for responding, but I was wondering if it was possible to find a stock rom and not the stock firmware for my device.
I am able to download the firmware through my updater but applying the update is where I am having issues. :good:
