Just like the title says, Rom Manager things my Dinc is a Fascinate. I am currently running Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC2 and Rom Manager is baked in, I've tried deleting the updates but when I go into download rom, I get only Fascinate roms. Any ideas on how to fix this one?

Are you using an SD card from elesewhere?
Try uninstalling ROM Manager and reinstalling - you may get the device selection screen, at which point you choose Incredible rather than Fascinate.
Absent that, with the device on, unmount the SD and power down the device. Then take SD out, copy entire contents to PC so you'll have them, and format the SD card to FAT32. Put SD back in device, d/l ROM manager to get the device selection menu.
Then you can copy files back to SD card from your PC.
Please post whether this (or something other) works.

Thanks a lot.
I uninstalled ROM Manager and put a different (blank) micro SD card in the phone then reinstalled ROM Manager, this did the trick. The SD card I was using came out of a fascinate and that was causing the issue. Thanks again.

hello every body i am new in the android community.
i've just got a htc hero.
i've rooted it at http://theunlockr.com/ by using the
How To: Root Your HTC Hero in One Click! methode.
now i've put the modaco custom rom in by useing the recovery image.
so i've put it in the sd rename it to update.
applyed it in the recovery image so i've got a new rom.
and what now? to put apps to my sd?
Back up your as card. Go into recovery loader again. Use the format as: fat / ext / swap
I think modaco and fresh both default aps2sd so nothing else is required other than removing and reinstalling your apps so they get put on the sd.
Good luck and make sure you do step 1!
so anytime you install an app from the app market, it will automatically install on your sd card? (i have modacos rom) and how can you check to make sure it does?
all of my apps are on my SD card, maybe with the exception of WiFi teether since it is in the rom and I think needs to be in /system/ to work.
It's nice, my apps are persistent with factory resets and rom flashes.
If I pull my SD card they stop working, if I put it back the spring back to life.
so you dont have to install any apps for this to work, you just have to partition the sd card?
1. Backup your SD card, the Repartition wipes everything out
2. Boot into recovery
3. Run the Partition Fat16/EXT/Swap
4. Reboot
5. Reinstall your apps so they are moved to the SD card.
In really basic terms we trick the phone into thinking nothing happened but we move the App directory to the SD card and point to the card instead of internal memory.
You have to understand how the linux kernel works to really understand the whole "don't have to install software". One of the things Linux beats the crap out of micro$oft about is "things just work".
I've been using android on my phone for awhile, and tried a bunch of different builds and never got this error. Yesterday when i was switching back to shubcraft all of the sudden the boot loader gives me
mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 on /sdcard failed: invalid argument
failed
failed to mount sd card. cannot continue.
/bin/sh: cant't access tty; job control turned off
i tried loading just about ever build and get the same thing.
I've changed the startup.txt and i always reformat before i switch builds. i was thinking it might be the sd card itself, but it works fine in winmo.
if anyone can help me it would be much appreciated, im having android withdrawls...
oh and its the stock 16gb class 2
EDIT: It randomly started working again...strange...
This Is What I Do
I was getting either the same thing or something very close to it on about 2 rom to the best of my understanding is when your trying to flash (for lack of better words) a new rom you still have some left over traces either on your storage card or the phone so what you need to do is format your SD card and reflash your phones rom.
I took the origin file put it on my sd card unzipped it there went into the android rom folder cut the plain android folder paste it withe the other folders then reased every folder EXCEPT the PLAIN ANDROID FOLDER now put the sd card in the phone enable the the sound then install android.
To be able to watch the process after you flash your rom go to settings, system, power (battery) and uncheck everything so it doesn't sleep. when you install now you will see the progress and will be able to read the progress if you see 2 things have failed
This is my process and it hasn't failed yet when I didn't do it this way I had fails.

you can search a tool named SDFORMATER V2.0, it will be worked.
okay this is now happening to me as well!
had been using Android and various different builds without hitch.
but today after trying the Hyperdroid build the sd card fails to mount on startup.
Editing the startup.txt does nothing, have also flash to the latest chuckyrom and formatted the sd card time and time again and tried different builds.
anyone have any other suggestions?
Ta
working again now.
the fix for me was to reupload my backup to the sd, format then upload the required new build.
very odd...

odd indeed...for me i had to reformat my sd card using my phone, didnt really make any sense to me but it worked
i transfered all my data to my new sd card. shut the phone off and put the new card in. booted it. i got a text. tried to reply and wouldnt let me. phone shut off and wouldnt boot. i went into recovery to clear cache and dalvik cache. rebooted and now its like its on a fresh new rom no apps no nothin. but its EXTREMLY SLOW now. 5x slower than my htc hero. and its freaking out.
i tried nand back up.. nothin. i tried everything.. wont stay on long enough for ruu.
so any ideas to help me fix this.
I usually format the new sdcard with the phone. Then I copy onto it, except for lost.dir which does not get over written.
Use the settings to unmount the sdcard, then reformat it. Copy from the old sdcard on to the new. Hopefully that will do.
ok i will try that in a sec. thank you
Did you get one of those cheap memory cards from China? If so, that may be the problem. I tried one of those cheap SD cards when I first got my phone and it worked all kinda ways messed up while it was in there. Try putting the old card back in. If you see it works with no problems, then it's your SD card.
the phone is still glitched out even with the old card
EDITwilly900wonka after i did that process it worked. probably not a smart move copying the file over as well. i just did a exact copy with all the files. nand .androidsecure and everything else on the lines of movies music and photos

Weird. Try wiping cache and dalvik cache,. If not, hopefully you have a NAND backed up that you can restore to.
Once you get your EVO back up and running I would advise you to run AVG Anti-Virus to speed your phone back up. Also install a custom ROM, this will most defiantly speed up your EVO.

i been using custom roms. but i was on mikfroyo then myn warm. then MIUI which i loved but it wont accept it now. so im off to something new. i tried koin elite. but that sucked for me...
I made the mistake of putting a blank SD card into my phone then formatting it with the phone. I lost all my apps etc. Even transferring all the files back to the phone didn't fix it. What I found you should do is boot into recovery before you ever boot into the phone. Then format and create the needed partitions, then mount the SD card while in recovery and move the files to the card. Wipe cache and dalvik and reboot. Phone acts like you never changed the card. From my experience its the most problem free method
Sent from my (insert daily ROM name here) Evo 4g
Whats the best SD card for the EVO?
Say I want a 16GB card.
Does the evo support class 6 and 10?
Can I then use the MikFroyo A2sd? Or do I need to start with a wipe and a fresh install of MikFroyo?
ive had this happen during an sdcard switch as well. weird since I wasn't using apps2sd. i had to restore my nandroid.

it sucks. but oh well.
Nandroid FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
had that problem on my first 2 card switches the realized that what works for me is taking old card out, putting new one in(i do not open anything)just go to format the sd card then put the old one back in plug phone to pc in usb drive and opend my pc hit folder properties on my phones drive and select view hidden files. then copy all the info into my pc. then close all open windows on pc and change my phone back to charging only then unplug turn off the phone and remove and replace sd card with new one, turn on again plug to pc in usb drive and copy all the files i copied into the new sd card and hit replace on all the repeated folders. that method works flawlessly for me every time

see post #5, give it a try and then report back? I would like to know how that works.
This wont work for me. When I orginally installed WP7 my Scandisk microSD card did not format, so I have no memory left on my phone. Its running the software with SD card right now. So I need to reinstall it, and I just want to see if all i need to do is put it in USB flasher and reinstall, or do i need to back all the way to the orginal rom and start from the begining
No you shouldn't have to start all the way over. Just take batt out and back in and turn on then hold end key (red) untill the magldr menu shows up then select option 5 I think it is. Then connect phone to computer and click on the DAF file from your ROM file.
make sure your SD Card is in before doing this. WP7 formats it automatically.
Does this help?
quick change
Have you tried the simple method...
go to settings > about
click [reset your phone]
when the phone powers off, swap the SD cards
the phone will reboot and format the new card.
your OS is on NAND, but is using the card as part of the opperatign space.
Good luck.
Astro see it but i'm ready to flash my first rom and i wanted to back up my current image of the stock 3.1 acer. I can do this right. I went to do a full backup and it said i need a micro sd card. this way if I want i can just reflash back to my current state right. Anyway why doesn't it see my card to do a back up. Also while i'm figuring this out what are you opinions for the best rom with overclockin and closes to stock that is the least buggy. Thanks
Common issue as constantly posted over and over again..try using SD format utility under windows to format your SD card.format it to fat.if this does not work use a diffrent card again several threads on this issue.root explorer file manager he and es file manger are better then astro
.
Good luck
I had the same issue. I just used a USB stick.
