Nice work, I'm looking forward to the new modem.bin. I'm on hold with T-mobile now to carrier unlock my Tab (I bought mine out of contract) .

when are you going to post this rom someone else can verify it's working?

I second that. When are you planning to share it with us?

my phone not work now.. when I dial a number it instantly ends the call

Update.. Appears the Tmobile us modem.bin block's phone calls.. I get 3g/h mode now.. but when I try to place a call it instantly ends.
so I flashed back to the Euro modem.bin phone calls work.. but back at edge speeds

I just posted at the end of Jyveafk's thread (in answer to someone's question)... some info about the European version PHONE itself... I was going to buy a Euro phone, but clubtech and an eBay seller both said that the Euro phones did not have the bands to get US Tmo 3G... they only get Tmo 2G.... so it appears by flashing the Euro firmware... we now have the same situation.
However, the Euro phones do get 3G over ATT 1900MHz frequencies... so at least for a while (ATT issued a memo in Oct saying they were phasing out the 1900MHz bands over 2010-11 from their towers because of "declining usage of 1900MHz only phones")... altho clubtech notes they've been saying that for a while and in some states/areas 1900MHz is the ONLY ATT freq, so obviously they won't be phasing them out in those areas.)
So it appears that as with the Euro phones themselves, flashing the Euro firmware will only allow 3G on the ATT phones.... bummer dude, cus ATT coverage where I live SUCKS.
OR MAYBE>>> maybe a different modem.bin file will allow phone coverage now that x2beach has 3g/H enabled.... so hoping there is a file that works....

Has anybody tried flashing the T-Mobile firmware on samware site

So Samsung DID do the same thing with the T-Tab as they did with the Vibrant, and left a radio with 1900 band in the device. Cool.

So its either
phone call + 2G
or
no phone call but + 3G (back to square one)
*sigh*

I flashed the modem bin from an AT&T captivate and now I have decent EDGE signal with my AT&T SIM. Still testing, but calls and data look good so far. I had to re-unlock my Tab until Samsung emails me the proper unlock code.

they next step is to a modem.bin from like a Vibrant. and we can see if that will give us 3g and voice. anyone got the latest Vibrant Radio

I did installed the t-mobile rom from samfirware.com. Same situation as with the euro rom. It just gives you a different boot up screen and different apps installed. Oh and it's in german.

Unbranded HTC HD2 work on T-Mobile USA 3G Network? (please read/help)

hello, im currently a tmobile coustomer, isaw that the hd2 will be coming out during spring, may to be more exact. but i cant wait about 6 months, im dying to buy one, my question is if ibuy an unbraded htc hd2, will it work on tmobiles 3G network? since tmobile will be realsing it in spring?
help anybody,
thanks in advance..
No.
T-Mobile uses 1700 and 2100 UMTS. Current HD2s will only support the 2100 band, and T-Mobile -- uniquely -- requires both bands because one is bound to upstream and the other to downstream.
You'll have to wait for the T-Mobile HD2 if you want 3G.

ohh i see, guess will have to wait 6months, thank you for your help.
just to be sure, the bands are a hardware thing? or a software thing?
It's a hardware thing, I'm on T-Mobile with just EDGE speeds but works well enough for me, I don't need much on the data end.
btw, I couldn't even wait til it hit the states...

ooo, yea but for me data nd 3g or HSUPA is a big deal, so iguess im goin to have to wail till tmobile releases the us version.
just wondering at what website did you purchase yours? and how much u paid for yours, ive seen in many sites there about $690
I bought an import HD2 from the UK and use T-Mobile network in the US.Where I live (Texas) it logs in on the E network band, but recently made a trip to San Antonio and it logged in on 3G.
TMOUS w/ EDGE
Same as above... I am on TMO US with Edge and its working fine for me. I also couldn't wait till it hits US.
BTW I have the unlimited Edge plan for $5.99 ( grand-fathered plan ) so I am happy and works better for me instead of switching to thr $29.99 plan.
I use epc.tmobile.com as the APN and speeds are decent.

and are you guys on stock roms? or cooked?
thank you all for replying, and helping me.
If data is a big deal for you wait, you've waited this long...
I am in the same boat, I could import now and keep ATT edge, or wait for it to hit T-mo and switch over to a contract free plan. As I use a ton of data a month I will be waiting for full 3g.
If you live in area's with wifi you can mooch off of that, sadly most of the places I am do not provide that so its 3g all the way.

ok so iwas just walking around the mall today (sawgrass mills in florida) and there is this store were they sell all kinds of phones and electronics, they have all the line of HTCs phones and iwas very suprised to see the HD2 so iwent to ask how much it was and they told me it was $1,000 i was like :O i asked them if it was the US version and they said yes, they told me it worked on all 3G networks, so iasked them to let me see it and put my SIM card in (tmobile) so itryed it out, and all i got was full EDGE they said it was my sim card, and stuff, i looked at the most and said EURO Version and showed me only the 2100 bands.

flash att modem with bell firmware, fix upload speed problem?

Hey guys still a noobie so take er easy, just figured id ask. Since bell is releasing the atrix here in canada tomorow and everything ive read about the lack of upload speed on the att version of the atrix(which i have and can atest to lol) is directly related to the handset and not the network, cause im capped as well and im on rogers here. Can the software from the bell version be applied to the att version?
interesting idea
might work ...
guess we'll find out in a few days
I have a feeling they cap it based off IMEI numbers

This is unlikely, it is a radio issue.
Flashing the radio worked for the Captivate to get HSUPA and the Nexus One gets HSUPA stock.
a close friend of mine has had the phone since last thursday (mar. 10) i ran a speed test at her house and it was around 2.7mbps down and .5 mbps up and that was on a two bar connection.

a bell version ? or the ATT version
i thought the bell version wasnt suppose to be out until the 17th
i put a bell sim in my atrix (unlocked att phone) 5.85 mb/s down 0.3 up took the same sim and put it in an iphone and got identical download and 2.5 up speed. so now i know bells network is capable, so i guess well just wait

I'm really hoping its not capped. That way we can try and flash the US radio with the Bell radio. So far that is the only complaint I've had with the phone.
If anyone gets their hands on a Bell Atrix let me know. I can walk you through dumping the radio firmware from the device. Hopefully the Atrix will take it without having radio security turned off!

One the mods (from Canada) at Android Forums said that it is indeed uncapped, they got 1.5 to 2 Mbps up:
http://androidforums.com/motorola-atrix-4g/289470-bell-atrix-canada-2.html#post2432323
I remember all sorts of problems with flashing the Bell modem onto the Captivate when I still had it, like not able to be heard on a phone call. Did those issues all get worked out in the end?
@GermanGuy:
That was pretty much a conflict between the ROM in use, the Kernel in use, and the Radio in use (Cappyvate had a sound processor onboard that calls got processed through whereas the i9000 and others did not, so the components had to match up or you'd run into that issue)
Hopefully not a problem on Bell I'm mostly worried that the radio will be signed with a cert that the AT&T Atrix accepts!
Is the Bell modem HSPA+ capable, or is it strictly HSUPA/HSDPA?

bell modem will have hspa+ since their network supports it.
Then let's hope it is flashable. Would solve at least one of my problems.
Today I went to a bell store to see if they had the atrix on display. They didn't, however there was a guy talking to one of the bell employees with something that looked like the laptop dock. So i go closer, and what do you know, its the atrix. I start talking to both gentlemen and one of them tells me he is from Motorola and he is showing the Bell staff how the accessories work. I asked to borrow his phone for a minute and ran a quick speed test. I got 2.3 mbps upload and 7.9 mbps download. My jaw dropped. Then i went inside his gallery app and saw that his pictures date all the way back to late December. He said the atrix has been his personal phone for a while now and he goes around to different parts of the country to demo the units. awesome job if you ask me.

Many debates on this. My understanding is that one of the two bands (can't remember which) works on the vibrant. my work phone uses att and where I live I get att 3g when I switch out the sims. Not sure what band it is on to get this but it does work for me.

The T-Mobile US Vibrant has the 1900MHz 3G band. AT&T still uses it in some places, but was supposedly phasing it out as of several years ago. Works fine in my area.

[Q] Mytouch 4G Stuck on 2G

First of all, New User, First thread
I bought an HTCH Glacier (Mytouch 4G) last week it arrived yesterday, bought the unlock phone and was able to get my SIM working with this phone. Loving it!
I live in Dominican Republic and my Carrier is Orange Dominicana. I typed all the APN settings and my Phone connects, BUT ONLY TO 2G. It just shows a "2G" Icon, really bad news because I was really looking forward on using it as a WIFI Hotspot.
Ive googled and looked everywhere. Tried to put it on WCDMA only, but its goes back automatically to its WCDMA/GSM Auto option. Checked all over the *#*#4636#*#* config tab. Nothing.
Is there something I am missing, does T-Mobile blocks 3G availability for countries which are not US?
Please help me out with this...
Thanks in advance

tmobile has nothing to do with your 3g/4g speed.
You should have checked your carrier's HSPDA's bands before you bought the mytouch. Tmobile's bands HSPDA bands are 1700/2100
Orange HSPDA is i believe 900. It is not compatible with the US mytouch 4g which only runs with 1700/2100. I believe the UK version supports 900 which is used with ORANGE.
Thanks a lot Teo032. Received yesterday and like ponsting it on Auction!!! Too bad...
I thougth it would work as the specs showed in GSMARENA specifies it supports 3G @ 900 MHZ

yeah that sucks, i think there was another post that says the official tmobile site and htc site said that only 1700/2100 was hspa compatible where as 900 band is probably the international version.
Wait. I was just checking a local auction site here in DR. There was an HTC Mytouch 4G being sold (Well it was sold already). I started talking with the seller and he told me his phone's 3G worked with Orange Dominicana...
That got me like: " What!? "
I got a 3G sim card, I used to have a BIS data plan (Which ive tested on HTC sensation, Samsung Galaxys and The Samsung Galaxy Tab. They all worked with the 3g. Also tested and Iphone/smartphone data plan. Nothing
I'll give it a try until friday, testing other configurations...
If not suceeded. What good phones are around that DO SURE work with Orange Dominicana ?

naaaa no updates..
we need someone to unlock, underclock or overclock the antenna to a 850mhz/900mhz and the rest of the bands, it is possible, but stupidly hard to accomplish...
No, it's not possible. Analog and digital radio filters, DSP and other parts are VERY different from your average computer (actually, they're so different that it's like saying sky is different from ground). It's not "overclock" or "underclock", and has nothing to do with "clock". Band isn't clock rate. And even the physical antenna properties might need to be changed for band changes.
If I remember right, all the MSM8255-based phones are dual band, most running 900/2100. MT4G runs 1700/2100 instead. If my assumption is correct and the change isn't physical on the board in one of the external components, but only SW - then you might be able to make it work with 900 MHz band instead of 1700. If not - then there's no chance.
So, I would be able to make it work... By far, no luck
Guys @ customer service told me I needed another data plan, specially for smarthphones... I tried that already with a friends SIM. No luck.
I hadnt sold it cuz Im 80% sure it works on 900 mhz. GSM arena says it, and most of T-Mobile phones supports this freq.
Obviously, GSM Arena was proven wrong.
AT&T bought Tmobil, so what does this mean for those with tmobil exclusive band like us?? are att will keep using 1700/2100 for the next 10 years or should we send them our cellphone for a replacement??? what should we do??? just wondering....
I'm pretty sure the at&t/T-Mobile merger didn't go through. It was ruled 'not in the public interest', though they still had the option to go to trial. Last I read, at&t was withdrawing ...

Hi everyone, does anyone know if this issue was resolved? I live in Lima, Peru and have the same problem with HTC Mytouch 4G. Did someone find a way to make it work with 900 mhz?
Thanks!
Hmm, I'll have to check this out when I fly back down for Christmas break, lmao. I know when I bring down T-Mobile phones they all work on Orange (my prefered carrier and OPs carrier). No reason why 3G or HSPA+ shouldn't work. I'd probably have to check around the large cities because outside those large cities such as San Cristobal which is close to Santo Domingo, you'd fall back on GPRS/EDGE.
P.S.- If I check this out, It would be around Valverde Mao in the north, close to Santiago and Puerto Plata, but if I get the chance to visit my cousins in San Cristobal, I'll check down there too, lmao.

So, if I'm hearing (well, reading) correctly, I can get 4G and HSPA on my Verizon branded Note 3?
I'm asking because I have GOT to get away from Big V. I can't stand the way they lock their phones. Not really interested yet in a new phone but will buy a full priced one that I can root and switch to AT&T or TMO come Feb '16. In reading this thread, it makes me think that I can get relatively high speed internet access through AT&T (they have awesome coverage in this area as well) that will allow for music streaming and basically, anything short of watching video with my phone (Verizon Note 3, Android 4.4.2) as is, with just a couple changes to the APN settings? Is that right?
Holy cow! This could change everything for me! Any other details I need to know? Any advice, info, what have you, would be appreciated!

Is that right?
Holy cow! This could change everything for me! Any other details I need to know? Any advice, info, what have you, would be appreciated!

I did the swap today and, according to my wife and the people at TMO, I'm getting data/text/etc... but no phone. It can't call or receive...
Any ideas? I'm stuck at ork and can't get to it right now - i'm using hangouts on the work computer and talking with her that way.
She says they say it's a root issue. I call BS on that...
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I'm an idiot....
She is too...
They are as well...
Phone works great. My wife forgot that they gave me a new number for the time being until the Verizon number was ported, which was why my phone didn't ring on TMO...
Google Voice is installed on my phone and when it detected the number wasn't right, it wouldn't complete the call...
And the folks @ the TMO store said my problem was that I was rooted! I got the hell out of there ASAP & fixed everything myself! Soon as someone says
"Oh, there's the problem! You're ROOTED!" run the other way!
Took care of all that and it's flawless!
Thanks for the great posting - this did all I needed and now I've got TMO and a HUGE data allowance for two phones at half the cost of less than that on Big V....
Bye-bye Verizon....!
