[Q] Profiles management - G2 and Desire Z General

Has anyone figured out how to save/restore or manage modified profiles? On my Desire Z I had the great idea of customizing the default HTC profile instead of one I didn't care about...and now it's gone forever. I was asking for a way to restore it in the list...I got permroot btw.

Save scenes?

Is there a way to save a scene on the Incredible? If that were possible, combined with Titanium Backup, it'd be completely painless to flash a new ROM or install the OTA and have your phone back to the way it was.
TIA.
Not that i know of. I wish i could help more, but i have been trying to remove sense since day one.
EDIT: i think you can, but im not sure. I think it prompts you when you select it.

Do you mean the "scenes" as in ones you make yourself similar to the ones that are preloaded, like "work" "play" "social" etc.?
If so Click menu>scenes>save (option at bottom) The save option will only be there if the scene is new, and has not already been saved. Hope this helps
Thanks for the replies guys, that works fine for general saving of Scenes - but what if you flash a new ROM over your old one? Assuming it's still a Sense ROM, is there any way to then automatically go back to the way your homescreens were before? Similar to the way Titanium Backup can return all your apps to the exact way they were before the flash.

[Q] 2 questions, one on CWM and one on UI settings

2 questions..
does anyone know (or has tried) to flash the red cwm to the new 2.2 froyo update?
can i do this, and will it work and/or bork up anything? i loved that red cwm ..
second, this is kind of silly.. however, ever since i had my first clamshell cell phone i have always wanted to do this..and never could until now with my SF and 2.2..
there is an option to set a sound when you "unlock" the phone using pattern lock.. it is a default sound now, but being an original series star trek fan - i downloaded the communicator chirp and want to set the unlock screen sound to the communicator chirp.. but i dont see a setting for that? ideas on how i can get it to that effect..
i have tried to load the sound file into the UI folder, and tried to "set sound as" but it doesnt give an option for unlock...

[Q] Optimize Full Potential - How to?

Hi HTC owners
Soon to be a Legend owner myself I've come across a term known as rooting. This had led me to believe I can "upgrade" whatever default software applications a standard HTC Legend comes with. What exactly can I do to optimize the use of my soon to be HTC Legend to it's full potential?
Thanks in advance
Rooting is to remove the default crap software applications your HTC Legend is loaded with... You cannot remove those softwares without rooting.
Second, there are various ROMs which provide a good balance between performance and features. Choose one that's aligned with your preferences and install it on your phone.

Wrong, rooting is for you to gain access to root folder which if you're not rooted you can't. Hence the 'Superuser' is. Only after that you can as you say it 'optimize' your phone. A few advice to make you phone run at full speed.
1) Root
2) Install custom ROM (optional but highly advisable)
3) Use SetCPU to set your CPU speed (or use a custom kernel)
4) Advance stuff like S-OFF/Data2Ext and stuff
Hope you'll enjoy your being a Legend owner. If you encounter any problems during those processes do search around for the solution. If you still cannot find it just post it here and we will try our best to help you. Cheer mate.
Thank you for your replies Ashkool and Rajasyaitan
I'll look into rooting, custom roms and the like myself.
Have a great one, HTC is great
CyanogenMOD ROMs are a good place to start

Removing phone from aria

I have a aria running cm7 rc2 no simcard...Im just using it as a media player/wifi now..wanted to know if its possible to remove all phone options without completely messing up the whole system..
sent from my Aria CM7
im sure you could remove phone options, but it will most likely create unstable results.
IMO, its not worth the effort anyway. if you like, use ADW launcher to customize the entire desktop. this way you can remove the phone icon and set the shortcuts to all your music apps

Funny you should ask cause just last night I removed the phone.API to mess with it and forgot to put it back. The only effect I saw was when I went to make a call with dialer one it just brought up s black screen. That's the only way I even remembered it was missing. So as far as I could tell that was the only thing wrong. I'd say you'd be fine based on that.

Aria phones are considered as one of the most user friendly phone system on the market. It has got a great features including one touch speed dial, transfer and on hold, speakerphone and customer administration terminals combined with a traditional handset design. This type of phone is very reliable and affordable for all business purposes.

[Q] Change Default CPU Speed On Boot Permanently - CM7

Like the title says, I was just wondering if there was a way to change the default CPU speed on boot permanently? I know I can use SetCPU, but sometimes that hasn't held through a boot and I had to set the speed manually. So, I was hoping there was just some script somewhere I would have to change. But then I got to wondering, would that be possible from my phone? Would I have to build my own kernel? Or would I just be able to decompile the rom in dsixda's kitchen to change a kernel script? Any help is greatly appreciated!
I use ROM Toolbox. It has a ton of stuff including CPU Control and CPU Profiles (like to make it 691MHz max when the screen is off). And you get a lot of other stuff with ROM Toolbox. But you could say the CPU part is like Set CPU. Don't really know if this answered your question. Hope I helped though.
I'm pretty sure CM7 has a built in CPU setting feature in its Cyanogenmod Settings -> Performance menu. It gives you the option to set on boot as well. I've never played around with it so I'm not sure if it'll give you the same problems you're describing now, but it's worth a shot if you don't want the separate app.
Is your phone rooted?
