Samsung GT-B7350 Automatic record phone call - Omnia II General

I don't know on that topic written or not, but the forum for Samsung GT-B7350 I have not found.I have Samsung B7350 with the native firmware only from the shop, the question - Samsung dealer has built recording function, it works fine, but it is not recorded in the automatic mode all calls. I tried different software like ACR or Resco Audio Recorder, but created files can't read, diferent players say's codec is missing!!! I suppose files a corrupted or have wrong format. Maybe Windows mobile has protect system for call recording???
I uploaded my Registry and DLL from Windows Folder - Samsung Dealer
I need advice, what i need to do next.

Has anybody who can help me?

You have problem with codecs.
After u use callrecording with 3d party software and when you unable to open files, that prompting about missing codec.
Type *#9900# in dialer, that creates debug..txt file in \Temp folder. Send this file to me or post it here, then I can probably do somthing about.

Dosn't work

Is there any new solution? I'm also looking for any software for automatic call recording, Resco, Vito and ACR don't work. ACR creates 48bytes .wav files that can't be opened...

Record but not auto...
I have the same model (B7350). When you make/receive a call you will see a 'record' option on screen. Pressing that records the call okay. Haven't tried using other apps though.

Notification Sounds

Is there anyway you can add new notification sounds. I know you can add new ring tones but i would like to add some wav files for email and sms notifcations but i don't know how i can get the xda ii to find them.
thanks
Sure! Any wav'll do
Just add the .wav file to the windows directory.
Try http://www.dailywav.com
Thanks mate for the info
Only problem is i cannot play the new files on the xda ii, the existing ones on there work, all i get is silence.

hey,
i read somewhere in this forum that there's a specific type of wav file that the ppc can't play. not sure but i think it has something to do with the data footprint. normally you can download a wav file and put it in your windows folder; it should come out when you want to use it as a notification sound or a ringtone. you can also use the xda's recorder to record any sound (recorder to record...how redundant can i get ). from there you can rename and transfer the sound file to your windows folder and use that for just about anything. what i did was record the voices of friends; assigned the specific wav file to the specific contact, so when it rings i immediately know who's calling. i also recorded the bark of my dog and use it sometimes as a generic ringtone or a mail notifier.
cheers mate

Found Patch to Make MP3's Work as Ringtone

A friend of mine found this patch, and i tried it and it works
i then tried it on the New Imate 1.12 rom and it did not work...
but it works fine on my T-mobile 1.01 rom.......
Just wondered if anyone else found this patch
Marc
What patch :?:
:?: The Magician plays mp3-ringtones by design. No patch required.
That's true, but no alarm tones. You can only use wavs for that. There are many applications which provide this feature, like WolfClock. I don't know if there's a patch available for this.
could you share a link plz

Yeah mine did until i installed betaplayer, after that it doesnt show mp3's when you try to change your ringtone. Uninstalling betaplayer resulted in no application being able to play mp3's. This suggests to me a file association problem but I have no idea how to solve it. Unlike 'regular' Windoze where you can assign associations fairly easily, mobile edition doesnt seem to be able to do this. Unless someone can come up with a better idea it looks like Im in for a long trawl through the registry
I did this with Winampaq on my XDA2. There is no way to re-associate the files with media player short of a hard reset. Microsoft really dodn't do much testing on this OS at all.
I found this but havent tried it.
been using it for ages, lets you set MP3 rintones from tap and hold menu, copies them...the whole file, to your windows\rings directory and sets as default ringtone.

You should take a look at Resco File Explorer which can do exactly this.

Thanks for the tip, I will have a look at that app.
My main gripe tho is that I prefer GSplayer or Betaplayer to Media Player but when I install either one I lose the ability to use MP3's for ringtones, it seems that the phone will only allow MP3 ringtones using the WM engine (or I have missed something)
after installing any 3rd party mp3 program you need to reassociate mp3 files with windows media player to get mp3 ring tones to work correctly.

Thanks people...The app works just fine...THIS is what I had been searching...

Audio Recorder, does the Universal have one?

Is there an audio recorder in the Universal for recording lectures and other stuff? Can anyone recommend a good audio recorder for the Universal please?
Resco?
The built in Notes app has record function right? But well, ofcourse it's not that powerful
it does, and you can adjust the quality of the recordings in both resco and the inbuilt notes recorder.
however, you are really going to struggle trying to save entire lectures in audio due to file size.
You will need a big storage card.

Simon,
Are you using Resco Recorder on your Universal? If YES, a few question please. An hour of lecture would probably take about how much SD Card memory? I can store it directly to my SD Card right? Can you comment on the clarity and quality of the recordings using the Universal please.
To everyone: Thank you for responding. If any of you guys & gals still have any suggestions or comments, it would be nice before I go purchase Resco for my Universal.

Have you first tried the built-in one? Maybe it will suffice?
START>PROGRAMS>NOTES
Then MENU>View Recording Toolbar
You can set in options to save to SD Card
If ti is not enough, then go for resco

When cuteangelica suggested it from notes I did not find it there, silly me, it is hidden. Looks like this will do the trick. Thanks again everyone for your patience. Saved me 20 bucks.
you can also access it by pressing and holding the voice dialler button next to the camera button.
resco is also for recording music from internet, and convets wav to mp3 and back, and also to extract or cut down wav and mp3 so you can use for ringtones.
resco can also let you reduce quality on conversion to reduce sizes.
but I use notes for simple recordings of voice.
I use NoteM, it works well, saves direct to SD card as MP3, and is free.
Cheers,
Steve

Can someone with a WM5 MDA do a quick test for me?

I'm having problems playing WAV files frm VM. Can you make voice recording note with Notes, and then see if you're able to play that file with with WMP? Not able to play them with my MDA and I just want to know if its the same prob playing Notes WAV files in other devices. Trying to diagnose why I can't play voice mails from the VOIP system. It worked before, but just stopped.
I'm able to do that just fine. Stock WM5 T-Mo US ROM.

I really appreciate that. That lets me know that WMP in WM5 should be able to play the file. One more thing. When you go to the media player, select menu, and select about, what version and build do you show? In WM6 it shows Version 10.3 Build 17745 for example.

Nevermind. I found the problem. It was a registry entry for a program that I installed and then uninstalled. It set itself as the default player for WAV files. Had to change it back to WMPlayer.exe in the registry. Thax for the reply though.

Anyone have a good voice recorder program for the Wizard? Also need advice..

My wife is trying to record meetings on her MDA with Notes, but after 15mins or so, the recording stops and a message saying that internal memory is low. I set it to record to the storage card, the file does save to the storage card, but I believe it's initially recording to the device and then converting to the storage card. She only has about 15Megs of available storage memory left though.
So then I downloaded NoteM (since it was so popular) and was able to make hour long recordings, but the playback kept skipping all through the recording. I couldn't find any settings that would fix that. So, was there something that we missed using NoteM and Notes? Or is there a better program to use for the Wizard (preferrably freeware)? Also, do all programs hold the file on the device before saving to the card? I never noticed this problem on my phone because I have almost 40Megs of storage space available.
I use Resco Audio Recorder all the time to record lecture's. I record straight to the storage card. I also use Cool Edit Pro to touch up the recording. I think Resco Audio Recorder peforms better than Vito Audio Notes, however if you search through Menniesyss' posts you might locate a review of similar products.

Thanx. I just down loaded a tril of the Resco Audio Recorder. It's really nice! I think I'll use it as my default recorder too.
