Perm Root + Launcher Pro Question - G2 and Desire Z General

Anyone running this combo able to help me or with a small experiment?
When you reboot, as soon as you get back to the swipe to unlock screen swipe and sit at your home screen. Do you flash to an all black screen for a few seconds? I think I have isolated this to L Pro, doesn't do it on stock launcher, but want to see if its just me.
It looks an awful lot like what visionary would do when you had it set to root at boot.
Anyway, thanks for your input.

I've had the same problem using LauncherPro. I'd get a black screen that I had to sit and wait until it fixed itself on boot if I unlocked the screen too fast. There was also instances where the quick reply from chompSMS would cause the launcher to have a black screen. Navigation was difficult because I couldn't see anything. I eventually stopped using LauncherPro and went back to stock.
Don't get me wrong, LauncherPro is an amazing launcher alternative and this wasn't the reason why I stopped using it.

Thanks a ton. Glad to know its not just me. Was contemplating flashing back to stock and re-rooting to try to correct it. I can live with it I suppose, just really love the calendar widget. Hopefully it will be corrected in a patch.

I happens to me as well. I can live with it, though.

I use Launcher pro plus and it does the same thing to me.

Yea I think the problem is with LP .. I have plus and I have the same problem. . There's also a lag when you go from portrait to landscape, or is it jut me?

I've noticed this as well. But when in a program the accelerometer is fine but on the homescreen there is a slight lag.

LauncherPro Force Close

Launcherpro is the only app on my phone that keeps force closing.. I keep getting launcherpro.xxx.acore or something like that saying it has force closed even when I'm not on the home screen. I could be on xda and it will close. Anybody else having this issue

I haven't had an issue with it yet. Actually I haven't seen it crash once.
Perhaps another application is having a conflict with it? or try reinstalling.

I am using LauncherPro on a G2. It crashed on me once. But that was after I had set up 5 homescreens and then changed it to 4. It crashed, and then restarted. It has been okay since then.
Yeah I'm using 7 homescreens on launcherpro maybe its too much I also use a ton of widgets

I ended up clearing all the data for launcherpro and restoring to defaults and then looking at my nexus and reordering again and it works perfectly now
Try a different version of Launcher PRO.
The version I'm using has been great. Check my signature.
Launcher pro plus works great on mine.

Widgets and 2.3.3

Anyone having issues with widgets loading in 2.3.3?
My twitter widget will not load. Even stranger, I cannot add any applications to any screen. Very odd.
I'm running on ADW. Is ADW the real issue?

another issue with 2.3.3
All my widgets disappeared and I had to place them back...

how did you get them back? a long press does nothing for me now!
hmmm. my widgets work just fine. long press also works. did you try a reboot?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Only problem I am having with 2.3.3 is the screen colors. It's terrible, definitely gotta get use to it..
Widgets work fine. Try a reboot or a battery pull.
Works fine here, using LauncherPro Plus.
I chose to clear the dalvik cache before rebooting, after applying the update. Perhaps that helped me?

Haven't used ADW in a long time but isn't there an option to lock your screens? Which in turn wouldn't allow you to modify anything.
Press menu and check that out.
no problem here. all widgets work fine and i didnt have to mess with them at all.
This happened to me today but I'm still on 2.3.2...

Rebooted and long pressed. I did have it lose them a couple more times though. It's fine now... I think.

I noticed that too, the call interface is gray or something, the color seems different. What were you referring to?

This. From the home screen you can also press:
Menu>Add
To add a widget.
Menu>More>Unlock Desktop
To unlock the home screen if locked.

The few widgets I use are working the same. Only problem I ran into was having to reinstall Swype.
Running on stock android.
Not sure how it got locked, but the unlock feature did the trick.
Thanks!

Yes, I have been having this problem on ACS with Go Launcher. I also have a lot of camera app failed messages if I try to open the camera in portrait mode (opening in landscape works fine). I don't have a solution yet.
Man that sucks.. I really want to keep this launcher
Tapatalkin' it from my Epic 3g
I have go launcher ex and I dont have the problems you are...
yep, same problem here. Thought it was just me, back to either LP or ADW for now. Do like some of the features though but if it won't keep my home page stable then it isn't much good to me.
Sent the dev a note but haven't heard back.
Ya I also had that issue, went to adw ex instead. Too bad had some nice features.

I had the same problems as well.. but went away on acs. Try using titanium backup to delete it. Delete your go launcher backup settings (sdcard), then reinstalling the newest version..

Does anyone else notice this?

Im on stock rom and I realized their is a lot of lag when going through the home screen. I only have a couple widgets and icons..does anyone else have this?
what launcher are you using? mines is smooth as butter using ADW EX.
Im using the stock launcher
Yeah I also started to notice it. Very heavy lag too. I switched back to Launcher Pro Plus and no problems yet.

I had that with cm7 with gb launcher, went back to miui lol

I'm on the stock rom stock kernel stock launcher. My homescreen is good even with the. nexus live wallpaper. I've always found adw to lag. This is y I always return to stock.
i only get that problem when i have a live wallpaper on. that will slow down the screen big time. other then that im all gravy baby
The only lag I have is when I first boot my phone. If I try and move anything on my screen I get told that launcherpro has stopped responding... I click "wait" and 15 seconds later were gold. Annoying yes, deal breaker...no

I've been doing it a bit lately flashing new nightly's and showing off the CM7 3D boot animation to people lol. But yeah it's whatever I suppose
I Used to have the same issue, regardingless if I'm ussing ADW/LIVE-Wallpaper/GO Launcher or something like that. After reinstalling my device on Saturday it works smooth as a new car
On the boot the media scanner slows the phone to a crawl that last longer the more on your sd card you can improve the speed by deleting the folder android from the root of your sd card then reboot. Sometimes the gallery thumbnails get corrupt
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
I get it sometimes. The best temporary fixes are to use a different launcher like ADW or LP or change the CPU governor.
ICS should enable hardware acceleration of the home screen, which will eliminate this problem, but we won't be seeing that for ~6 months.

Launcher lock up...anyone else?

I run tsf shell and next launcher and adw ex 99 percent of the time though so far I've only run tsf and next on my g2. I have experienced the exact same issue while running both launchers. I'm rooted and have over 30 apps frozen including the stock launcher.
I'm having an issue where after running my phone for awhile my launcher will lock up and refuse to do anything, or it will run so slow that it's impossible to use. The strange thing is I can still drag the notification window down and go into settings and do whatever in there and everything functions fine and is smooth, so I know there's some issue with the launcher. A reboot fixes it for awhile but it has come back several times. Another weird thing to note is the launcher isn't force closing. It will continue to run and never force close.
This thread isn't about me having a buggy phone and need to return it (though anything is possible) but it's about me thinking I have caused this issue myself by freezing something I shouldn't and now I'm getting this. At first I thought it was tsf shell so I downloaded next and froze tsf and it happened on next so I know it's not the launcher itself. Based on my thinking that it's something I froze I have since defrosted the LG home app and after a couple hours have yet to have the issue. But I'll keep this thread posted on what happens.
If someone else has had this and fixed it please post...if you are having it and didn't know what to do and you froze LG home try defrosting it and post your results. I know from experience that sometimes these phones on the stock roms can bug out when you freeze certain stock apps so I'm trying to troubleshoot. Thanks.

Sounds like you froze the stock launcher and the phone bugged out. Just leave the stock launcher unfroze.. No telling how many lg system enhancements depend on it.
As for me, I never freeze apps. I just remove them using root explorer. Usually isn't hard to find out what apps are safe or unsafe to remove.
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I also think it's a UI function that uses the launcher. I have not used a shell and a launcher together before but I'll try it later w/out freezing. The LG launcher.

I also find using the stock home switcher causes less problems.
