Hi,
I included a WebView in my activity and load some Javascript in it which is then going to get data from an external website.
This works and displays fine but the problem is that my activity doesn't scroll when the WebView is done loading so I san't see the bottom of the WebView such as all the other Views I put below this. Any idea os how I should handle this ?
Cheers.
Do WebViews have a scroller built in? Might need to put a ScrollView around it?
Thanks, I used a ScrollView around the WebView and it worked. The WebView has a scroll built-in but it was the main layout that had not.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post Android app development questions. Sorry if I have picked the wrong section.
I have an animation that is set to a ListView by:
listView.setLayoutAnimation(LayoutAnimationController controller)
This happens in the body of instantiateItem(View collection, int position), which is in a class that is extending PagerAdapter.
I am unable to set mPager.setOffscreenPageLimit(0) because of the minimum limit of 1, so there is always at least one offscreen page.
The problem is that this offscreen page will not play the animation when I swipe to that page.
How can I make it so that my animation will play every single time, even when I am switching to a cached offscreen page?
Thanks to anyone who can help!
My question concerns the use of Immersive Mode in Android K/L, and multiple activities versus one activity and multiple fragments.
The background: the app I created for my company is not on Google Play store; we sideload it and distribute the tablet for industrial control.
The condition: we want to hide the Nav Bar and Status Bar without rooting or using a custom ROM. This is to prevent testers from accidentally getting access to the OS. Immersive Mode has that capability, provided they don't swipe from the bottom or top; we are willing to concede that issue. L's Task Locking is really out of the question.
The issue: when the current activity is switched to another activity, the Immersive Mode is turned off, which means that the Nav Bar and Status Bar appear, then disappear when the new activity's view appears and Immersive Mode is re-established.
The research: when switching fragments, Immersive Mode stays intact.
The question: is there any issues I need to be aware of if I re-design the app to have only one activity and many fragments versus a multiple activity app? There are about 25 activities in this app.
Hello Guys,
My english is not very good, i'm sorry for that.
I'm developing an app and now i want to have an icon in my actionbar.
i cannot give an example (security from XDA) but de usual icon top left most apps have. Now i only have the title, but on the left side of the title i want the icon.
I tried this:
getActionBar().setIcon(R.drawable.my_icon);
And i tried with android manifest to add: Android:icon and Android:logo to the activity and many other things But none of them works for me.
If i watch videos it looks like the icon should be there by default, but not in my case.
I hope somebody can help me.
Thanks in advance.

Are you using the new Toolbar API?
Thats what i think. I'm not sure, how can i check that?
Do you mean AppCombat?
You need to add the android:icon attribute under the application element, not under the activity
Also the design guidelines state that the icon shouldn't be used if you are using the Toolbar API - there are other ways to get your apps branding across to the user.
Thanks for the answers.
But i tried to add the android:icon attribute to the application element instead of the activity element. (And i tried both)
But in none of this situations the icon will appear.
If i look on Google and Youtube i see many people creating a actionbar and have an icon by default. Strange that i don't have this.
I hope that you can help me, thanks.

ActionBar != Toolbar. By default the new Toolbar API does not have an icon - this is due to the new design spec (Material Design) that the Toolbar was created for.
You need to find out if you are using the new Toolbar API or the old ActionBar API.
If you're using the Toolbar API then as I already said, it goes against the guidelines to have an icon in the Toolbar now as the primary function of it used to be to get the app branding across to the user which there are now other ways to do using material design (using a custom color palette etc).
If you are really stubborn and insist on going against the guidelines you have to use the below code to set an icon on the Toolbar:
Code:
toolbar.setLogo(R.drawable.ic_launcher);
Thanks for your answer, it helped me.
Now i use:
PHP:
getSupportActionBar().setIcon(R.drawable.ic_launcher);
Now i want the left arrow on the left side of the icon, and using:
PHP:
getSupportActionBar().setDisplayShowHomeEnabled(true);
But it won't work. Can you help me with that?
Thanks!

Add this to your code:
Code:
getSupportActionBar().setDisplayHomeAsUpEnabled(true);
Hi guys,
I have a RecyclerView where each one of the items in it needs to have a sliding image gallery. As I've done before, but outside a RecyclerView, I implemented a ViewPager. Everything seems to be correctly implemented, but the InstantiateItem method is not being called in the PagerAdapter, for some reason. Has anyone ever been face by this issue, do RecyclerView and ViewPager not get along nicely? If so, how did you guys get them to play nice?
Thanks for the help!

Hi!
Do you believe that there will be a global version of this in the future? Or am I supposed to stop dreaming of it and just update to this from stock 7.0G?
Thanks for the upload!
What I don't understand and it is really annoys me is why each any every app wants to have access to internet. Even calculator request it as well as video and gallery.
Is there a reason for that except sending some report (maybe all my data ) back to Meizu?

Global development is mostly dead. Don't expect an update on global. If you want update, just go to A.

You can block access to internet on security.Atleast flyme is allowing to do so.
Did anyone have issue with the NFC? I uploaded the "Super Night View" edition, which is also downloadable form flyme.cn and the NFC reader doesn't do anything. I tried different apps and none of them read any tags. The apps are aware if the NFC is disabled as it request to enable first. But can't read any tag.
Is the "Super Night View" mode reachable in the camera app in the firmware uploaded here?
Tried both type of 7.3 ROMs and the NFC doesn't work in any of them. The NFC reader app is aware if it is on or off but can't recognise any tags.
Does anyone having the same issue? Is there a solution for it? Or maybe my phone is defective?

I think you misunderstood NFC in p6p as ordinary one. Understand that, android beam is not supported by it.So that we can't use it to read tags and further. Its only use is for paying at shops. But also it is limited to some chinese banks and apps.So basically no use of nfc for global users.
Talking about super night mode on camera. Still not implemented even it's available as new feature. Hope it comes with flyme 8 if they release one for p6p.

Not true, I am using it for paying and it is not chinese app. I have tried with 2 banks in Poland and it is working.
Now i have some problems with debugging mode. Despite the fact I can run it no phone, the let's say home unit, is not seeing my phone.
